ProGreen San Diego

The great San Diego windstorm of late January 2016 caused a palm tree on our property to topple onto the walkway to our house. A crisis! My wife checked out Unilocal and was impressed by the very positive reviews for ProGreenGardeners. Juan H. was soon at our door with an assistant. We asked for an estimate for tree removal and also for several other jobs that needed to be done – trimming three tall bottlebrush trees, cleaning up an easement area between two hedges in our backyard (a big job!), and repairing control units for our front and backyard sprinkler systems. Juan quickly gave us a written estimate that was quite reasonable in comparison with what other yard maintenance contractors had charged us over the years for similar work. He did the complex sprinkler repair, his assistant did the tree trimming and clean up, though Juan joined him once he’d finished the repairs. The work of both was excellent. We’ll certainly call ProGreen again when we need yard work and/​or sprinkler system repairs. Juan is friendly, communicates well, and is thoroughly professional. We could not be more satisfied with his work!

This is the company that used be known as SLS (Synthetic Lawn Supply) but has been purchased by ProGreen, a manufacturer. I knew about the turf they used to sell, and after tracking them down to their new location in National City, got a friendly and informative lesson on the state of synthetic grass. The ProGreen they turf they sell factory direct is a rarity in the industry, an all-​American honest product. They have more varieties of fake grass than you can imagine, you can feel the quality and see the difference in their lawns when you see them installed in the real world (they’ll give you addresses). It’s not the cheapest fake grass on the market — an honor that Chinese manufacturers have — but it is top quality and arguably the best value. Frank, Angel and Fritz are knowledgeable and helpful and they have a well-​stocked warehouse on the premises.

I cannot say enough about this place… awesome! I have dealt with Angel twice now. Once for my backyard and once for my front yard. I highly recommend progreen sls for any artificial turf you may need. Angel has made the process as easy as it gets and I am very appreciative and thankful for his guidance as a homeowner doing the work myself.

Very satisfied with the artificial turf and Turfresh and Turfill I purchased from SLS. Angel and Robb were cordial and easy to work with. They recommended Pacific Paradise to instal it and that firm did a great job. My job was a small side yard of 210 square feet for two dogs to use to relieve themselves so I had Pacific Paradise bring out 4 inches of DG (decomposed granite) to put down after they pulled out a lot of dirt. SLS and Pacific Paradise worked well together.

All is forgiven although it took a while to clear up the problems. The important thing is the company stands behind their product and installers. The putting green was replaced in parts and more sand added,. so I’m satisfied. The important lesson learned was to know as much as possible about the product and installation (I thought I did) and be proactive in getting it done to your satisfaction.
If I now had a complaint it would be; When I putt, the cups were not placed where my golf ball goes :-))

I live in Hawaii and decided to do an install myself. The issue with Hawaii is the overall price of a project. I was quoted $ 32,000 for a full install. I contacted a few different companies and settled on SLS. I worked specifically with Angel who was very patient and provided me the information that I needed when I asked. I mentioned my budget and he really did accommodate me in the price and provided a strategy to try and maintain that budget. He researched materials that are local that I could use which helped me a lot. Saved me a ton on shipping. For 3000 sq ft I got everything for lower than $ 10k including shipping. This helps me so I have money for my other materials. I wish there was a local supplier here in Hawaii that wouldn’t rip you and force you into an install. I’ll add an update when my lawn is complete. Thanks Angel and SLS.

So I just moved into an ADORABLE house… perfect in every way, except for the back «yard». Apparently, if it’s big enough, you can call a concrete slab a yard instead of a patio. Whatever.
Anyway. I needed a little bit of green, so after I grabbed some pretty trees at the nursery, I swung by Synthetic Lawn Supplies in search of scraps. And wow, I definitely found me some scraps. I wound up choosing a gorgeous, lush piece of «grass» that perfectly fills the back half of my yard, and then the guys neatly trimmed it into a perfect 10×5′ rectangle and fluffed it before carefully rerolling it and loading it into my car.
The guys are all SO nice and incredibly helpful, and Doug is amazing. And they gave me a killer deal… I couldn’t be happier.
