Gross I used to be a regular customer but lately I been very disappointed !! I ordered sopa de Res and next day I got very bad diarrhea! But this is the only Salvadorian place around here and I was craving pupusas so I went back and I got queso chicharron pupusas and I notice the curtido was purple very nasty no flavor at all. And I ask to used the restroom and what a surprise! The back on the kitchen was so gross and so unsanitary you can see as soon you go inside there and the restroom we nasty too !! I will call the health department !! No wonder I got so sick ! Food poisoning!

This little place makes some pretty good pupusa, some better than others and some with my ingredients too. I ordered a chicken pupusa and a «Revuelta» pupusa which came with beans, pork, and cheese. They were $ 1.99 each. Both pupusas came with a great lightly fried corn cake. They had a light crisp and soft and flavorful center. Inside the chicken pupusa was a good amount of lightly seasoned shredded chicken and a good amount of cheese. I stuffed it with some of their very good marinated cold shredded cabbage and a little bit of their table hot sauce. It was some good eating. I was a little disappointed with the Revuelta because it came with an insignificant amount of tender pork meat and the beans had an odd taste to them. With this one, I had to search for the pork meat and I tried to avoid the beans. It had a good amount of cheese and the same great corn cake though. I say add more pork and check those beans. The little old lady in the back making the pupusas was very sweet, but the young fellow at the front simply appears to be going through the motions. On a good note, the place is inexpensive. I believe this place is cash only.

Ordered two kinds of pupusa; bean/cheese and chicharron. Best I had compared to other places. The salsa options were great and the Ensalada drink satisfied. The pork in the tamal was dry, but overall this place is worth it. The service was also good.

Amazing! This is my first pupusas and I must say I’m in love! The customer service is great! The young man who works there goes above and beyond. He brought the food to our table and even brought us fresh chips! The food quality is amazing as well, everything is fresh and are hand made. I’m in love with the sauce that they provide you. This restaurant only accepts cash.

If you want authentic and cheap, this is it. I can’t get over how delicious these pupusas were. The young man that works the registered told me they were smaller than they were. Definitely gonna get your money’s worth. The lady in the back thats beating dough away always has a smile on her face too. The food is made with love so it has my vote. As far as hygiene and sanitation, the place gets a 4⁄5. It’s clean and sanitary, but it’s small so you can see everything into the kitchen. oh and also, the drink selection wasn’t great. I know it’s not a Meixcan food place, but i was still hoping for some Horchata. All they had were canned sodas.

Cool little spot. I was here before when they had a different name. I believe it’s the same owners changing the name and the menu a little to attract more business. Walk in to some younger guys running this place on a Saturday. I can only imagine this is a family run business. Of course I have to order 3 different pupusas and their ensalada. The chicharron, nopals and queso con jalapenos were screaming off the menu at me while I had to dig deep and suppress my soup love of some of those delicious looking options. Side dishes of cabbage and sauces hit the table with the pupusas. Loved the fresh ensalada. So thirst quenching and a special treat due to how rarely I come across it. All the pupusas were dead ass on the money delicious. Pretty incredible how they serve these for only $ 1.99 a pop. I felt like I was robbing them leaving them paying so little for a delicious meal. If they clean the interior a little and expand on their menu, they’ll be a solid 5 star in my book. Tip hard and bring cash. Cash only.

Finally got to drop by here yesterday and whew, it was sure worth the wait. Pretty cool newer spot in National City, and yes at us having a place to get freshly made pupusas nearby! Ended up getting loroco and nopal(cactus) pupusas which were only $ 1.99 each and they came with the cabbage/sauce sides! Food didn’t take too long to get made, and the staff was helpful. The food ended up being so delicious, and filling, although I could’ve ordered more because it was so good. The restaurant also features a TV in the place, a cute fish tank, and some gaming machine in the corner which was interesting. CASH only, so keep in mind, and I do hope to come back soon to try the other flavors, as well as other menu items!

So far this place satisfied my pregnancy craving for pupusas! I caught this place from the corner of my eye and immediately took action. Definitely a hole in the wall spot, which are my favorites. I saw a guy in the corner playing a 70’s or 80’s like casino game machine along the owners family sitting eating their food. Me being the only customer at the time, of course I got the obvious simple kind of service. Their kind children took my to go order(btw they are cash only) and I saw their mother walk to the kitchen to make my pupusas of cheese and spinach. While I waited for my food I can hear the mother slapping the pupusas together. Assuring me it’s nice and fresh! Woo! When I received the pupusas they were so fresh and so so so delicious. They reminded me of the pupusas I would eat at LA. I shared my food my aunts and mom and it was their first time eating that kind of food and they were in love! Definitely coming back :)

Took a chance on this hole-in-the-wall. I’ll be honest, the wife and I almost drove away. I ordered the nopal pupusa and a carne asada burrito and the wife ordered a beef plate. We were both very happy with the taste and price. We plan to come back.

Great little mom and pop restaurant. Everything is made fresh to order. Don’t come in here expecting an elaborate restaurant. This place is as hole-in-the-wall as they get but it’s pretty clean. It’s hard to find Salvadorean food in San Diego snd this place definitely does it right. They also have a few Mexican dishes on the menu, and those are pretty good too. The prices are relatively cheap. Make the trip over and try their Pupusas. They are delicious!

I’ve never tried Salvadorian food. Holy Smack. this is delicious. I was hesitant to post a review because I wanted to keep the place all to myself, but the owner Silvia is so nice and the food I bomb! You have to try the Pupusas and the chicken plate!
