Worst and most expensive meal ever. Poor quality food — soggy brussel sprouts, brown lettuce in salad. Slow service that is shockingly uninformed. «I’d like the local brew.» [Very long wait] «Sorry, sir, we didn’t update the beer list in years. We have no local brewery’s. Would you like this beer?» «No, it’s an IPA. I don’t like IPA’s.» «Okay, how about this one?» «That’s a DOUBLEIPA. No, thanks.» $ 200 for two for a really poor meal.

Dinning for my wife and I Wine by the glass good Lobster Bisque brown water not creamy and rich French Onion Soup looked beautiful but not hot under the melted cheese? Cesar salad was correct $ 46.00 Rib-eye ordered medium rare came out raw blue when cut down the middle. Server took the steak back and left the side of vegetables. Same steak came back double cooked after vegetables got cold. By then I was tiered and just wanted to call it a day. Eat the steak paid the bill and walked out.

We had a 6:45 reservation and were seated at 7:20. We were then greeted by the waiter and saw him again 15 minutes later when he showed up to ask if we were ready to order. We asked about our drinks and he rolled his eyes and said he’d be back in 2 minutes. We left. We are frequent visitors of good steakhouses and are willing to pay for quality food and service. Save yourself the time on this one and head across the street to Crab Cake Café or Succotash. Not steak, but much better than this wanna be steakhouse.

Celebrating 13 yr anniversary and hostess greeted us and knew we were celebrating. they said we had a special table. we were in an area where it was loud. server took forever to come. we felt ignored by the server the whole night. she didnt introduce herself that she was our server. i thought she just filled the water… over 30 mins to just take the order. more things happened through out the night. It didn’t feel special. to top it off. our server did bring a cake. but said HAPPYBIRTHDAY! seriously?! We hoped for great service and special night… we were very disappointed and our night was ruined.

I love going to the Gaylord for the holidays. Its so much fun to see the tree and also walk through the hotel. The decorations are always glamorous! The hubby and I went for a private event for a friend. As you walk in the hostess are there to greet and take your coat. There is a beautiful fireplace right at the doorway. As I walk to the room everone is greeting you with smiles. Then a glass of wine! It was a nice glass of pino. The ambiance is beautiful def 4 stars. Staff is attentive. 5 stars. But again it was a private event. Its a steak house so you must eat the steak! the steak melts in your mouth delicious, great crust and very well seasoned. I order mine med rare… it was perfect. Not overly cooked to medium! The crabcake was good, beef tartar was ok. Overall must have steak at a steakhouse!

I have been here 3 times with hubby. Most recently 12÷27÷15, for his birthday. I had the Ceasar salad, lamb chops, macc and cheese. Hubby had the shrimp cocktail, crab cake and steak with mash potatoes. Everything was good. Service was excellent! We will be coming back.

Went there with my family for a Christmas Eve dinner and it did not meet my expectations. Only three stars because the truffle risotto we ordered as a group side was out of this world, insanely delicious, and I’ve had some of the worlds best risottos in Italy. Now because this is a steakhouse with $ 40+ per steak, I really expect the steaks to be top of the line. I ordered the fillet with the lobster tail, the temp on the filet was wrong but the difference between medium rare and medium is not something I will send a steak back. My issue was that for a steak that was aged as much as they claim it was, it was rather flavorless(glad I ordered the béarnaise sauce). The lobster tail was over cooked, rather chewy. Others at the table complained about the toughness of their steaks too. Our waiter was a mix between absent and a blabber mouth, full of pointless stories but hard to pin down when we were done with our meal. For a $ 1,000+ meal I expected him to be more engaged. Also, they validate valet but only 2 hours, we still had to pay $ 20 plus tip. Overall I’d say this place was slightly below par with Morton’s and Ruth Chris’. Probably won’t be back.

stayed at the hotel for a mini honeymoon. Decided to eat here. Seemed ok at first. called and asked about dress code, told slacks no jeans so i dressed nice. get in the place and people are wearing jeans and sweaters that looked like something out of a national lampoons christmas vacation movie.. was kinda like how is this allowed if im told jeans are not allowed. anyway, food was not very good. service was ok. although it could have been better. felt like they want it to seem fancy but really is not. steak was medium rare and that was a plus but it was a bit tough for a 45 dollar filet. shrimp cocktail tasted like they pulled it from the freezer(not fancy). I wont be back. wish i could get my money back. kinda sucks it was a special night and dinner was meh.

What a big let down… this establishment looks top-notch, but our service was anything but. My issue centers around the wait staff. The waiter took our order and was generally pleasant at first. However, I don’t know if he wrote us off due to the restaurant’s traffic starting to pick up or maybe he figured that he should focus his energy to another table that would yield a better tip. Either way, I think we both made assumptions that impacted my service and his tip. To summarize the service, he never came back to check on us to see if we enjoyed our meal, I had to signal to one of the managers twice for refills, my daughter’s meal came out cold(no apology or anything), and even when I asked for the check he didn’t speak. It was a lot worse than I’m describing and it was apparent that he did not want to serve us. He just placed the ticket on the table and walked off. You would have thought that I offended the guy or something. Also I watched as another family next to us endure the same subpar service from a separate server. It’s obvious that these guys need to be retrained or reassigned to somewhere that is away from customers. By the end of the meal, me and my family had enough. I left a 10% tip, which was unusually low for me(but well more than he deserved), wrote a short statement describing my dissatisfaction with service on the ticket and talked to management. The hostess/manager was understanding and gave us a room credit since were guest at the resort, but it’s not always about getting your meal comped/something free. It’s disappointing because this place really looks nice and I was looking forward to the experience.

We really enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance! There was a bit of a hangup in getting our previously requested table, a nice round for 8 folks, but the management worked it out. Awesome cocktails too!

Wonderful staff — particularly the bartender. Wonderful food — loved my french onion soup, though the mashed potatoes were my favorite. Great wine selection too. The steak was really good. HOWEVER there is way, way too much of it. For the price I paid I felt the need to eat every inch of the steak and I was almost ill as a result. Cut the price a little bit for a bit less steak — portions are way too large. If you’re getting steak here skip all sides and all apps, which I think is a shame because the other food was really good. But there’s just too much steak for there to be room for anything else.

WOW! I don’t even know where to start here. I was here Tuesday night and I’m still in awe! Phenomenal food, service, and attention to detail. I attended a very small, private event in the cheese room with a book author who is kind of a big deal. Anyway, I went straight to the bartender who was working only for our group and was extremely professional. I had a glass of Ferrari-Carano Cabernet(they’re out of California) and I fell in love with it. Smoky, spicy, slightly sweet, smooth. They had a cheese table set up with a few different kinds of cheese, breads, crackers, dried fruits, and salad. All were excellent. I took some cheese and sat and end enjoyed it with my wine. After a few minutes, the chef came out with hors d’ouvers. The first was a spicy chicken skewer. Perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, and spiced evenly. Next, they brought out mini crab cakes with an avocado mousse on top. Delightful! Last, they brought around mini beef wellingtons. AMAZING! These were my favorite! As I was enojying all of the food and conversation, the bar tender came around a few times and refilled our glasses. I kind of lost track of how much I drank… oops. Before leaving, I stopped at the dessert display and took an almond chocolate dessert and a mini cheesecake dessert. Both were wonderful. Sadly, I had to leave this even after an hour to go on a tour of the monuments in D.C. I didn’t want to leave. I could have sat there all night drinking amazing wines and tasting delicious food. It was foodie heaven. I will be back. Absolutely.

I pride myself in experiencing the best steak houses when I visit a city or at home in Atlanta. It leaves a little to be desired with the steak. I ordered the cowboy rib eye med well, it was med until I got halfway into the steak and then it became close to med raw. Side dish was the spinach, it wasn’t much to rave about. I can say the service was very good and since I enjoy a cigar every few weeks, it worked out that they had a humidor full of options. Price and food quality aren’t on par for what you get but the service made of the difference for me.

Another great meal with outstanding service. Andrew is a stellar waiter. Having him as server makes a huge positive difference! Courteous, quick, and he knows the menu and the wine list. The space is nice with a great view of the river. Very good food. To begin, a nice bread basket with lavash, baguettes, and green olive rolls. Whipped butter and butter with chives. my original choice was not available in the vintage shown on the wine list(the list does need an update – in this age of computers and printers, there really isn’t a good excuse for the vintages to be so outdated), he recommended an alternative that was outstanding and actually a couple bucks cheaper than my first choice. The space is nice with a great view of the river. Very good food. To begin, a nice bread basket with lavash, baguettes, and green olive rolls. Whipped butter and crème fraîche with chives. I’m not usually a fan of mussels but Andrew recommended them as an appetizer and they were indeed delicious. My NY strip steak was excellent. Cooked exactly as I requested – medium rare plus. Tender, full of flavor, with just a little fat around the edges to provide flavor but not wasted weight. The sautéed mushrooms and sautéed spinach were tasty, although the spinach was a tad salty for my taste. A great finish to the evening was a cigar by the fire pit to drink the rest of my bottle of wine. I highly recommend Old Hickory Steakhouse.

Cowboy ribeye was good. It is comparable to a chain prime steakhouse. The last room has a view of the water and Ferris wheel. Considering that this is in a hotel and convention center with a captive customer base this 3.5 stars rounds to 4.

This is a full-blown, legit steakhouse as good as any downtown establishment. Except that if you’re at Gaylord for a convention, there would be no need to venture out further for juicy, well-charred, seasoned, prime steaks. There’s cocktails, beer and wine too. Summary: alcohol and beef. beef and alcohol. you can’t go wrong my friends.

My boyfriend and I attended Katsucon(the animé convention) this weekend and when 5pm rolled around on Saturday night, which just so happened to be Valentine’s Day, we decided to look for dinner. It was too long to wait for our coats from coat check to venture outside the hotel, so we were left with the hotel snack bar, the National’s restaurant(which is good, but we wanted to try something else!), the sushi lounge, or the Old Hickory Steakhouse. We decided to try our luck with Old Hickory! I was dressed in a long hot pink wig and a pink T-shirt and jeans and went in to ask if they had any room for 2 for dinner. The hostess told me they were completely booked for the night, but the bar was first come, first served. We walked to the bar area and secured a cozy table for two. Throughout the meal I noticed several older and much nicer dressed couples and groups, but I’m glad they didn’t seem to care I was dressed like a magical pony. I ordered the Pink Lady(Prosecco, Saint Germaine, and an edible hibiscus flower) and it was absolutely delicious! Came to find out it was $ 16 when the bill arrived, but it was good and a really nice treat. My boyfriend ordered the flat iron with a side of bearnaise sauce. I opted for the salmon. We had a couple different servers throughout the night and all of them were very courteous and attentive. There seemed to be long pauses between getting our drinks, getting our food, getting the check, and getting the receipt, but it was nice to slow down for the evening. My salmon was cooked the way I like it and the citrus fennel salad was a nice accompaniment. My boyfriend’s flat iron was insanely chewy even though he ordered it medium rare, but he didn’t seem to mind. They charge $ 5 for bearnaise sauce, but they bring you a whole gravy boat full of it so that was fun to dip everything into. I’m glad we got to have a fancy night but due to the prices I don’t think I’d be a frequent visitor. But if I were staying at the Gaylord and someone else was picking up the bill I’d definitely come back.

Our waiter Patricio was excellent! Great service. We started the night with a selection of the artisanal cheeses. They were absolutely delicious. They have a really great selection to choose from. We tried 6 different ones. Really unique choices. Of course paired with an excellent Cabernet sauvignon. My dad and brother shared the tomahawk steak which is essentially a gigantic porterhouse. So juicy and delicious. It came with bone marrow which was so buttery and also delicious. I had the fillet with crab meat, asparagus and bernaise. Perfectly medium rare. And so soft and tender. For sides we had Mac and cheese, bacon and Brussel sprouts. Both so good! Capped the night with goat cheesecake topped with assorted spiked fruit(amazing). Overall great experience and would definitely return! Excellent food
