Seriously. First. Know that the«New Orleans» chef has flown the coop. The restaurant now being run by the former sous chef, and he is not up to the task. Details u want? The brown sauce on the New Orleans shrimp had no flavor and was runny. The onion soup was not hot, had no broth, and worst of all had slices of soggy white French bread under the cheese(which was not melted sufficiently) — NOT croutons. The caesar salad dressing lacked balance — think Hellmans mayo. The only redeeming feature were the short ribs. Nicely done with a good sauce. The wait staff was great. But neither of those were nearly enough to rate a recommendation, sadly. If you’re looking for a nice meal, you need to avoid this place, sorry to say.

What an awesome little hidden place! Serendipity brought us here on a Sunday afternoon, when we found that the restaurant we had wanted to go to is closed on Sundays. Thank you, Unilocal, for directing us to tables on the green! Yes, the décor is a tad outdated… this was definitely an old country club… but the food was phenomenal!!! Spot on, one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve ever had. My husband got the poutine(gravy, beef, fries)…it was heavenly. I have never had such great poutine in my life. Seriously, we don’t go to Freeport much, but when we do, and we need a place to eat, THIS is the place. Two thumbs up!

The fried green tomatoes were really nice, with beautiful pieces of crawfish in the sauce. However, the main entrees were overly seasoned. I had the sea scallops which were nice but too rich in their taste that I felt a little sick after eating them. My mom had the Pecan crusted red fish. The sauce on here was really chunk and was almost bulky on the delicate fish. The wine list was also very expensive. Definitely more than the upcharge should have been for this area and the quality of wines. Good wine doesn’t necessarily mean expensive. For Natrona Heights, this is a step in the right direction but doesn’t quite hit the mark.

Tables on the Green was a surprise entry into the Greater Pgh Area food scene, as I only discovered it by driving along Rte 28 and looking at a large billboard. I had to drive by one more time to make sure my eyes were not deceiving me, and that there was in fact, a REAL Nawlins style restaurant(Sorry, NOLA!). My girlfriend and I made a point to venture out of our usual radius of restaurants and head towards… Natrona Heights??? Yes folks, Natrona Heights. After navigating some back roads, we came flush upon a country club– that is no longer a country club, but Tables on the Green and a future public golf course. We me the owner on the way in, who was an extremely gregarious and pleasant individual who reminded me of Dennis Hopper. A gentleman with no prior restaurant experience, but a keen entrepreneur with a down to earth style, he really brought something new to the area. The décor seems to have not changed since it was a country club, and is a rather odd juxtaposition of interior style and culinary flavor. The menu was succinct and included all of the favorites from Cajun country. The drinks, as someone mentioned, were a tad on the pricey side, though the mint julep was delicious. The food is more than reasonably priced for the quality. We started off with a gumbo appetizer that had a wonderful flavor, but could have been spicier. I am assuming the target audience in the Natrona Heights region are WASPS that may not take to the spicier variety of foods too well. Our mains were a crawfish pot pie, and the pecan crusted redfish. Both were delectable. The redfish was simply amazing. I feel the pot pie could have had some more distinct flavors and textures, but I would certainly love to try some of the other things on the menu. I am excited for the possibilities at this restaurant and welcome it as a change of pace.

Wow this place in natrona heights? Awesome food. Been here 2 times now and food and service have been wonderful. Pecan crusted red fish… Try it! I think for the quality of food it is fair priced. Drinks are very very expensive… 10 dollars for a mint julep I think not. Your in natrona heights. Would give this place 5 stars if the drinks were not such a rip off. Maybe consider a bottle of wine and a cork fee if you want to keep cost down. Other than that I really like this place and will be a once a monther for me and friends! If the chef has any ice cream available get it, I promise you will not regret.

The holy trinity: butter, bacon, and bourbon. The saints: lardoons, lamb, and truffle. The spiritual leader: crawfish. This place honestly is converting locals and Pittsburghers alike to the religion of gastronomy and southern comfort foods. The team of Chef Chad Radecker, Chef Marlena, and Andrea serve up not just delicious food, but a comfortable experience that bears no pretention. The prices are astonishingly cheap for the quality of the food. The last time I had a hanger steak and truffle fries for $ 16 was probably never. The lamb proves to Arabs that American Southerners can NOT burn lamb to a crisp but instead serve it with fig and grits like a pro. The food has a creole flair about it, but focuses on delicious more than any other theme. The restaurant is brand spanking new, so they are eager to please, anxious to hear about what you want, and looking to get to know their clientele. Come now to develop a good relationship and reap the rewards of the best ice cream with pickled strawberries… If there is ever a place you really think it would be great to to sit down with, have a glass of Scotch, and talk about grits, bacon, bourbon, and golf, it is with Radecker’s team at this restaurant. Granted the restaurant is on the mandatory state waiting period for the liquor license as they justtttt opened, so watch out world when Tables gets it! This is really the only lacking element. An amazing experience that is budding into a beautiful dining destination only 20 min outside of Pittsburgh. The grounds are beautiful so come at dusk and plan a party there at their banquet facilites or in their private rooms upstairs in the old club.
