We couldn’t find anyplace to eat on Navarre Beach so we were directed to Johnny Huston’s. My husband had wings(very good) and the«Love Me Tender» sandwich(awesome). I had the pork sliders and they were very good. Atmosphere is a sports bar but they also had on Fox News Channel which we loved. With all the TV’s, any sports fan will find something to watch. Excellent service! This is a great find and we will be back in the future. We highly recommend.

I visited Johnny Hustons last night for dinner with my family. The service was a little slow and our waitress wasn’t very friendly but was attentive. The food was all great and the fried mushrooms were FANTASTIC. Best I have ever tried and the order came with plenty. They were so good that we returned this morning when they opened and gor an order to go! The resteraunt was clean and the prices were fair. We will be stopping in when we are in FL in the future.

I am a wing snob. I will send wings back if they come out with any breading on them. I will send them back if they are cold, or soggy from too much sauce and/or sitting around before reaching my table. I am not a fan of baked, grilled, or broiled either. I would give KFC wings 1 star. I would give Buffalo Wild Wings franchises in general 3 stars. I travel the USA quite a bit, and I am constantly on a quest for perfect wings. Classic, real Buffalo wings(I grew up in the region), are deep fried, hot and crispy, skin on, with a nice red hot sauce applied sparingly. I’ve taken to ordering my wings«naked and extra crispy,» with sauce on the side, so they are more likely to come out right. You’d be surprised how many places still manage to screw up a simple formula: fry the sh$/ out of a nice, fresh, meaty wing and toss it in front of me while it’s still too hot to eat. Johnny Huston’s is known for its creative burgers, but you wing snobs out there take note: BESTWINGSEVER. They are big, meaty grade A wings, fried hot and fast so that they are still tender inside. The bar staff was friendly and courteous enough to give me several different sauces on the side, plus celery and REAL Blue Cheese dressing(probably homemade) with huge chunks of blue cheese in it, at no extra charge. My favorite combo so far was classic hot with sweet Thai chili sauce. Add a cold draft beer(I’m a fan of the Goose Island IPA) and you are in WINGHEAVEN. And only $ 7 for 6 of the BESTWINGSEVER, any day of the week. I am getting hungry writing this… think I’ll walk down the street a little and get some more wings… my third visit this week… good thing I don’t live here or I’d weigh 300 lbs.

BADSERVICE! Waiter sat us down and after he brought us our drinks, we didn’t see him again for over 10 – 15 minutes. He kept running around us and bringing people their food but was ignoring us… we decided it wasn’t worth being ignored and my party left. Very dissatisfied!!!

This is my parents favorite restaurant, I am visiting them and we have already been three times, and I’ve been during past visits. They have something for everyone. Everything I’ve tried has been amazing. The catfish tacos are by far my favorite. The edamame is amazing, I love their fried pickles, and the corn salsa and regular salsa is really good too. I didn’t see it on the menu the last couple times, but the first time I went here we ordered the brisket or roast beef nachos(I can’t remember what they were called) but they were amazing. They should put them back on the menu. My mom and I shared the pulled pork sandwich and roast beef sliders – so tender and delicious! My dad always gets the wings – crispy and perfect amount of heat, you can still taste the delicious buffalo flavor without your tastebuds burning. I like to get something new every time because they have such a delicious variety. The waitresses are always nice and friendly, service is very good and speedy considering they are always busy! But the food is always fresh and hot. I see why my parents love it so much and go so frequently.

I love this place! Their burgers are served on sweet Hawaiian rolls and delicious! Hand breaded fried pickles are a great appetizer. The service is always great :)

Exceeded expectations for a local, burger and sandwich shop. Had the fried shrimp wrap, which was light and flavorful with green bean fries, which were well-fried. We also tried the cuban sandwhich — one of the best I’ve had. Friendly service rounded out the great experience.

Mediocre experience at an outrageous price. Don’t order the fish basket. «Basket» to them means one piece of fish.

This use to be one of our best burger joints. They have done away with shoe string onion rings and the burgers are to well done(as stated on the menu). The chicken tenders have changed becoming smaller but still taste pretty good. Endless fries are top notch. Servers are friendly but sometimes way to busy when the place is jammed and it does get jammed. Eat in doors or out. They have added some newer items and are a nice change… but we all wish they would have those onion strings, they were worth go just for those.

I want to know where they got the retro flying car… look pa, no wheels… that(I’m assuming) Mr. Huston is standing next to(see picture). But really, on with the review. Johnny Huston’s is a local bar and grill that was founded during the peak of our latest recession. Despite a rocky start, Johnny Huston’s appears to be thriving as the economy appears to be recovering. The ambiance is that of a sports bar and grill with all the LED TVs tuned to multiple games(so there’s something for every sports fan) imbedded in a garage(industrial look with license plates and automotive paraphernalia hung as décor. Visually, it works, an understated 60’s mechanics shop. The noise level was a bit loud for conversation but again its a bar and grill so not out of ordinary. Restrooms kept with the theme but were clean as opposed to what you may expect to find in a 60’s garage or service station. Service was initially subpar. We were the only ones it the reception area, yet there was no hi, hello or welcome. Maybe they were staying in character of a 60’s grease monkey pit but I’m guessing not. Once we were seated in the enclosed patio service was looking up. Our drink orders were quickly collected and served giving us high hopes for good service despite the initial impression. But then the waitress gave us a whopping 4 minutes between asking us the first time if we were ready to order(after being told we needed a bit of time since it was a first visit) and the second time. Then there was a longish delay 15 minutes before a different waitress came and asked if we were ready(we never found out why our initial waitress gave up on us). Once the order was taken service was decent initially but over the course of a 45 minute meal were asked once if things were okay, once if we needed a refill(could’ve used a couple more) and once if we were ready for our check. Never mind my fries were gone into my bottomless pit of a stomach and the promised refills of bottomless fries found a bottomless hole somewhere else. Easy to advertise bottomless fries if you have to flag a waitress for a handful of fries rather than having a basket of fries waiting to fill the void left by the fries that went into my gullet. We ordered the 50⁄50 burger(50% ground chuck and 50% shredded pork) and the Huston Hangover(5 oz ground chuck, 5 oz chorizo topped with a fried egg). Both burgers were juicy and hot and came with a delicious order of not so bottomless seasoned fries. While juicy, the burgers were both overpowered by their mates(the shredded pork and the chorizo). Personally, I thought there could have been a bit more seasoning on the burgers but not bad. Price was in line with Red Robins and the typical bar and grill. Not bad for the food you got, especially if the not so bottomless fries were truly bottomless(I love piping hot seasoned fries). The tip guide on the receipt was incorrect though. Tip is normally calculated on the pretax amount rather than the post tax amount. Whatever, use the guide or figure it yourself… its the thought that counts. Exit was much like the entrance. You are ignored coming in and ignored going out. At least they were consistent. Unfortunately, the restaurant business is all about customer service and if you can’t manage to greet you guest when they arrive and send them off with a thank you and come again when they leave, what kindof first and last impression are you making? It may be a trivial item in this hustle and bustle smartphone world but come on. Service is still the name of the game in a service industry.

Ordered the bangin’ shrimp grilled(instead of fried) with dipping sauce on the side. OMG — awesome! Hubby had Ben’s heavenly burger that was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Best burger in a very long time. Would highly recommend Johnny Hustons for really good casual dining and drinks. Our friendly waitress, Liana, made excellent suggestions and provided great service. We will definitely return!

Very good service at the bar. Wings were of good quality. Bottom line though not a lot of creativity in their menu. Two stars only because bartender did a great job.

Always great staff — thought the sign in front sporting a certain draft beer would be like a special —- nope $ 5 for a regular draft?! Chicken tacos $ 11 were good and it came with some nice gumbo

I was in the mood for a burger, saw the great reviews and decided to stop. Our service was awful. The place was not packed, but had a few other occupied tables. It is a little dreary inside and we opted to sit outside. The pace and serving time for the food was irritating. We ordered my daughters burger first with hopes of it coming out quickly. It took a while to come out and fries were«warm», which led me to believe it may have been ready, but sitting. It was actually delivered by another server. I have no idea where our server was for most of our visit. The food was decent, but of course overpriced and not worth the wait in between us waiting for our server to return to our table. My husband ordered the pasta and meatballs. The sauce was a little sweet for him, but the meatballs were good. It was a nice portion size. I ordered the chili cheeseburger. I liked the sweet bun, but otherwise it was just okay. Grilled onions and a sharper cheddar would have made this burger so much better. Fries were hot and crispy. We were always searching for our server. The finishing touch was waiting forever for him to cash out the ticket. On my way to the restroom, I saw him«hanging out» with another server at the bar. After sitting for several more minutes when we returned from the restroom, my husband decided to just take the ticket to him and I waked to the car. Too many options people. When you are more expensive than the competition, you need to get your customer service priorities in order! I will happily travel another mile or two to get better service down the street.

We were looking for somewhere to eat after 9pm in Navarre and the choices are few. I went to Unilocal and saw Johnny Huston’s closed at 10pm so we hurried to get there and to our surprise they are actually open until 11pm and Friday & Saturday until midnight. I read a lot of the reviews and most talked about how great their burgers are so why not give it a try? Although it seems small it really isn’t for Navarre standards, they have a full bar and a covered patio, so really more space than you think. We were greeted by a friendly and attentive. Unfortunately they do not have turkey burgers but the menu is extensive. My dining companion had the 50⁄50 burger which she loved it it was ground chuck and smoked pulled pork cooked together. It looked delicious. I had the Fish BLT&A(fish, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado) I would have never thought to add a catfish filet to a BLT but I’m happy they did it was delicious. Crispy catfish, salty bacon, juicy tomatoes and who doesn’t like avocados? If we woulf have had time for another visit I would have gotten this sandwich again. If you’re in Navarre this is a must go-to restaurant. I’m going there again the next time I’m in Navarre.

The first time my husband and I tried this place we were a little skeptical. The traffic that we saw in the business’s parking lot told us we should check it out. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. The food is really good. I fell for their cajun burger and sliders. I love that they also serve sweet potato fries. Just thinking about their food makes me salivate. I also love their southwestern egg rolls. Overall, this place gets two thumbs up from me.
