When this place first opened the food was great. Everything tasted real fresh and delicious however the last couple of times we have gone in the past 4 months the food has lost its taste. The rice is over done and dry, the meat tastes either under or over seasoned. They lost their consistency of a great simple meal. I really wish it would go back to the great freshness it started with. Tonight we ordered a meal and received the wrong meat. We ordered chicken and got beef so we had to go back and pick up new one. Really an inconvenience.

I’m addicted to their burritos. I’ve been going there once a week for years and the quality has been consistent. The portions are large and good value. Better than Cali imo. The green salsa is a must. Gif guac and fried plantains too. On street parking, but great food.

I’ve been twice and both times have had the beef and cheese pastelillos and yellow rice. Both very good! I will be back in the future!

Dropped in for a chicken Quesadilla today. This is my second visit to this place, though I haven’t been there in over a year. I had a craving for a good quesadilla and remembered theirs being good(flavorful, had peppers & onions in it, etc). This time was disappointing, though. Seems they’ve removed the peppers & onions from the quesadilla — so a $ 7 quesadilla was just chicken & cheese with a side of sour cream. No salsa, guac, etc. The chicken was flavorless and shredded — frankly, it reminded me of the shredded chicken you buy in a can to use for buffalo chicken dip. The portion is small, nothing came with it and it didn’t taste like anything really. Not worth the $, in my opinion.

Not only is the food delicious but the service is excellent. Try their platanos. Yum!

The beef tacos were totally flavorless. I don’t think there was any seasoning on the meat at all.

I worked a lot in PR, I miss the friends I made there and the local food. The Black Bean soup served with Yellow Rice, The Tostone, and Empanada. OK these are probally not spelled right. But Rice N’ Beans comes very close to what I had there.

The quality has fallen drastically at this place while the prices have increased steadily. not a very good buisness model in my opinion. They guage you on the drinks for something like $ 2.50 or something. I ordered a chicken burrito but ended up with a rice and been burrito… kinda fitting I guess the place is called rice and beans. Needless me or my family won’t be back.

Finally a good, nonchain, ethnic food restaurant. Empanadas(pork) were excellent, served with a delicious green sauce. Tostones were delicious! Daughter loves the chicken Empanadas, but the pork is so wonderful that I can’t order anything else. Even when I ordered the Chimichanga — I ordered the pork. While we usually eat in the restaurant but right before Christmas we placed an order online(so easy!) to take home-I had the Pernil platter and my husband had the Chicharrones platter(his favorite). I usually don’t eat rice(don’t like it) but the beans mixed with the rice was delicious and the pork was superb! Will be ordering from Rice and Beans for upcoming graduation party… can’t wait!!!

This is an OK Puerto Rican/Caribbean foods restaurant that I’ve tried a few times, but I find myself a little less and less impressed as time passes. The best dishes are the Cuban-style pork and homemade Puerto Rican/DR-style beef empanadas. The main problem is a lack of real creativity. The titular«rice and beans» strikes me as a little too bland and unimaginative. If you pay $ 6.95, you can get a veggie burritos way overstuffed with rice and beans, while the«good stuff» — the actual vegetables — are too little in evidence and overcooked, with a very thin layer of salsa and sour cream not making up for it. I’ve ordered the tostones(fried plantain slices) a few times, but they’re pretty ordinary in presentation. The service vibe here has seemed a little more downbeat if not quite unfriendly lately, after a more peppy opening. If you’re looking for Mexican food, this absolutely isn’t a great choice.

I’ll start off with the service. I would assume a husband and wife run business. It was late when I picked up our order so I could imagine they were a little run down but not extremely friendly at all. It’s really hard to describe, it’s like they were just there. Not really friendly but not mean either. Now into the food. I LOVE burritos and frequent Chipotle often. The chicken burrito I order didn’t even begin to compare to Chipotle. The rice & chicken were alright but that’s all it seemed to be in the burrito. They could really kick it up by adding some pico, guac, cheese, and corn. The size of the burrito was also very disappointing. I would really love to see how it would be if they added them items, I think it would completely turn the burrito around. This place is worth a try if you love in the area and just want something different from the normal pizza and Chinese joint but don’t expect a mind blowing meal.

Love this place! I own a nearby business, and I order lunch takeout often. The burritos are addicting, and the staff is so friendly, always remembering my name! I highly recommend rice n beans, it’s definitely a great addition to Nazareth!

Excellent food and great service. The staff was pleasant, very courteous. I ordered the pork burrito and my husband ordered pernil with rice and beans. Excellent. Will definitely return. Small and cozy but authentic Hispanic cuisine.

Food is OK, but service is terrible. Expect an extremely long wait if ordering take-out or delivery. If they say order will be ready in 45 min, don’t even step foot in the door until at least an hour. The man cooking the food, who seems to be the owner, is extremely rude. This man himself if enough for me to never go back. Why can’t Nazareth seem to get a decent Mexican/Spanish restaurant.

Yea… I’m going to give this 5 starts. There are several Spanish food restaurants in Bethlehem, South Bethlehem, Allentown, etc. The fact that this is in Nazareth kind of surprises me, but I think it is a welcome addition(I’m not sure there is much of a Latin influence in Nazareth, but I could be wrong). This is also one of the ones that I’ve been to in the LV where it seems they are looking for more than just neighborhood /foot traffic business. Its really trying to branch out as a restaurant should(they will deliver). We’ve gone two times, and the rice and beans is very good, Pastallios, Pernil Sandwich, Taco Salad, nachos, Cubano sandwich… everything was, and home made(from chips to pork). The flan was very good too. Prices are very reasonable, and the portions are fair for sure. If I had to be pinned down to get something that I really liked, I was surprised how much I liked the Pernil. You’d think slow roasted pork is pretty straight forward, but this was mild and I could taste the pork… not overseasoned at all. Try the Pernil Sandwich… it’s like $ 6. Also, I LOVE this green sauce they have(think of like a spicy mayo). It’s not really green, more white… just FYI… and the pretty much serve it with everything. It is very clean, and there are only like 7 tables to eat at… but you could also just get take out. I’d give it a shot for sure if you never had Latin /Spanish food. It’s a safe bet that you can find something you like(they do have some american pallate offerings too)

I really like their food here. It’s different and authentic. They also have free delivery. I had the port and rice dinner and it was pretty good. I have not had a chance to try anything else from here. One thing that I really did not like was they charged me $ 1 for hot sauce. hmmm… I had already paid almost $ 30 for to go food. It’s like charging for ketchup. Parking is metered but you get an hour for like 10 cents. I would recommend you try out this place but carefull of extra charges. UPDATE: 6÷2÷2014 Owner was a bit rude when I asked a simple question about an item. He told me it was on the menu and go look at it like I was an idiot. I just spent $ 40+. It may be the last time I come here for a while or ever. I like supporting local establishments but he will lose customers real quick if he cannot figure out how to treat customers with respect.
