I went to Pats Place after a tough morning of cold weather and rain and got amazing chowder and a pulled pork sandwich. We had great friendly service and they even offered to get us some dry wood if we couldn’t find it elsewhere! A great family spot!

Small friendly restaurant! We had the indian taco supreme which was awesome and well worth the wait. The fry bread is made fresh for each customer which makes it even better If you make it to Neah Bay you have to eat a Pats

We saw the sign for this restaurant as we headed to Hobuck Beach for the night. I’m really happy that we stopped in for lunch! Julio was on his own & hard at work filling orders, but made us both feel welcome and well cared for. The Indian Fry Bread Tacos were out of this world with such tender & delicious handmade fry bread as the star ingredient! I’m a real pie hound & know how to make a perfect crust. Pat’s Rhubarb Pie was outstanding with an expertly made tender crust. My husband got the Strawberry Cream Pie and we both were amazed at the fantastic combination of the custard-like cream base with the strawberry layer on top. I believe any pie here would be wonderful! Julio was so nice and friendly that he made us feel right at home. We will definitely come back!

If you are in the area, you have to stop by pat’s place and hang with Julio. The fry bread is fantastic especially with whatever seasonal jam is available. The indian tacos are amazing as well, especially with the jalapenos. Julio is awesome to chat with but get there early and beat the lunch rush. Recommended!

The best fry bread I have had yet. And the service is out of this world. Extremely friendly, family oriented establishment.

I’m sorry to give this place a one star as it is required. I went in to pats place. I’m handicapped, I asked to use the bathroom, and in a very rude tone was told to use the port a potty down the street. There was very little in the display case, and it didn’t look good! the open sign was off and no menus to look at. So I went down the street to the gas sation/store and got some great pizza and they let me use he bathroom, even thought there was a sign that said no public bathroom! This was on the 22nd of October 2015.

This review is part of a 5-star day spent on the Makah Rez. Julio was there to talk to us and make us feel welcome. He made us fresh fry bread for our Indian tacos. After the long drive from Seattle this was a heavenly lunch. There was some room for strawberry cream pie too! Normally I go for new American style food when I’m in a city so this was a refreshing taste of someone else’s home to me. I felt like I was in Julio’s kitchen and there’s no place else I would have rather been!

Without doubt the best Indian fry bread available. Very friendly, not fast but well worth the wait.

Deliceous, fresh, tender and memorable Indian Tacos in this little restaurant at the edge of the world was our best dining experience of our Seattle/Olympic Park/San Juan vacation. Worth the drive although we got a speeding fine driving through one of the small towns on the way from Forks. Pat/Jose was friendly and fun and sitting at that restuarant with 2 tables in the Res eating Indian fry bread for the first time was a memeorable moment in time. Brought home some hot smoked salmon made by a cousin and it was wonderfull too!

We just visited Neah Bay(and the stunning, remarkable and MUST-SEE Cape Flattery nearby) during a 16-Day Trek through the Olympic Peninsula. After reading the reviews, I REALLYWANTEDTOHAVETHEINDIANFRYBREADTACOS at Pat’s Place. But, as you can see, there is no phone number(still isn’t BTW) and there was no mention of their posted Hours of Operation here, so I was determined to post them. They are as follows: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday — 12:00 pm — 6:00 pm Thursday and Saturday — 12:00 pm — 5:30 pm Closed Sunday and Monday This was taken from the«official» sign on their door on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.(The hours could be changed when you visit, and there was mention of an upcoming vacation trip(just like you, Pat, Julio and their family take vacations as well) although I doubt the hours will be changed, but at least now you have some idea of their hours of operation and may avoid the disappointment of their being closed when you visit.) The Frybread Taco was Superb! Julio(Pat’s partner and the chef) is a real winner. I have a keen interest in Frybread and we discussed it at some length. He even showed me how it was supposed to look before it is fried — mine always comes out flat and very much like an Elephant Ear you’d get at the fair, Julio’s is fluffy and beautiful — a little cloud of deliciousness. The toppings were substantial and so tasty, a complete meal! Pat’s is also famous for its PIES(PATMAKESTHEMHERSELF) and we had a KNOCK-OUT piece of Chocolate Pie that was one of the best ever! Simple, direct and sporting a whipped cream topping — it was a fine conclusion to our visit. By the time we left, there were 6 or 8 people waiting to order — Yes, the food is THATGOOD — and I overheard someone asking for jam that Julio made as well. Perhaps you could ask him about it, if you are interested. Pat’s is a fairly compact establishment with indoor seating for 6 or so and seating for 8 outdoors(in season) with two additional picnic tables available as well. All of the food is made to order — frybread must be consumed directly from the fryer — it is simply better that way! I had always characterized Frybread in a somewhat negative light as it always seemed to me to be the food of oppression. American Indians did not eat refined flour or baking powder for that matter and when they were displaced and sent to reservations part of the their rations were refined white flour, baking powder, cooking oil and salt and it was from this that Indian Frybread was born. Every tribe and, it seems to me, every cook makes a variation that is all their own(check out YouTube for many Indian Frybread videos and there are several websites that feature the history of Frybread and offer a variety of recipes) but Julio’s take on Frybread was the first to dispel my notion that Frybread was the food of oppression. He said that his tribe was not supplied flour but traded for it — trading their goods made or caught by their hands — and the flour was prized(their frybread was originally cooked in seal oil — they are a coastal people after all — ITIS *NOT* COOKEDINSEALOILNOW, OFCOURSE, ALTHOUGH I WOULDHAVE *LOVED* TOTRYTHAT! — and the flour and resultant Frybread was a triumph for his tribe — a display of their autonomy and trading skills. So not the food of oppression at all. There are two kinds of people of this world, victims and victors, It appears Julio(and his tribe) were and are victors… I like that idea very much indeed.

On a whim, we decided to check out Cape Flattery. On our way back we discovered Pat’s Place. I’d never tried fry bread before, but it was delicious. Everything is made to order, and it’s reflected in the taste. I’ll be telling people all about this place.

We went on Saturday from Port Angeles during hours that your sign says you are open, but you were closed with no sign explaining why. We went back by in two hours. Still closed. It was a long drive and disappointing. So when are you open?

Awesome fry bread! Indian Bread Tacos with everything fantastic. Worth the wait for fresh fry bread. Husband had the cinamon fry bread for dessert and we took two slices of banana cream pie home for dinner. Have to do a lot of beach walking to work it off but will definitely be back again. Love it!

The Indian taco its self was pretty good but and that is a big BUT the 20 minute wait I was told turned in to more than 45 minutes. My sister ordered the nachos and the chips were so stale she ate barely any of it. The owner seemed totally over whelmed by the number and variety of orders he had to handle. My sister never did get her fried bread with cherry jelly even though Julio had told her cherry jelly was a lot better then the strawberry she originally ordered so she had change to the cherry.

The fry bread is delicious and Julio really makes you feel welcome. I had the pleasure of hanging out and talking with him before the crowds showed up, followed by the first fry bread right off the stove. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely return whenever I’m in the area(which is unfortunately not often).

The pie(we ordered the banana cream) and fry bread(with homemade strawberry and peach jam – why choose one when you can have both?) were delicious, but just as great was the chance to talk with Julio, Pat’s husband and the man behind said fry bread. He’s friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable about Neah Bay and the Makah community.

Rating should probably be closer to a 3.5, but the staff were so friendly I rounded up to 4. We stopped here two times and both times they were very busy. A lot of locals which means it has to be good. Pat’s Place has a very limited menu. The basis is Indian Fry Bread. You can have that served either as a dessert with honey, sugar, preserves on top or served as a meal with taco ground beef, tomatoes, cheese, etc. on top. We opted for the Indian taco. Which is the Indian fry bread with taco ingredients on top. We had to eat it with a fork. I would have preferred being able to fold the bread and eat more like a sandwich. But overall, it was a good meal, served with major hospitality. We had the chocolate cream pie(home made). That was good. Wish it had real whipped cream instead of cool whip topping.
