Peak Wine and Spirits

Excellent selection and value! This store has a wonderful selection of wine, beer, and spirits, much more than you’d expect from the size of the store. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and go out of their way to help. They often host tastings so it’s possible to sample a variety of beverages which is great fun and way to discover tastes one might not have considered. This place is the best!

This is a lovely little place. I’m very glad that it opened. (Our experiences with the other liquor store in town have always been mediocre at best.) The selection at Peak, while not particularly large, is very good. That is, the quality of the offerings is consistently delicious. (No need to stock hundreds of wines– just stock the tasty ones!) The beer selection is also consistently good.
One of my favorite aspects of the place? The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. They always seem happy to have their patrons as customers. They want to know what we like, what we wish to have stocked, etc. Never once have we felt as if we were interrupting. This friendliness shines through clearly during the weekly Friday evening tastings, which usually consist of 4 wines (and on occasion 4 beers). These tastings also showcase the refined palate of whoever selects Peak’s wines. We’ve been to several tastings, and every single wine offered was yummy. (That’s sophisticated oenophile terminology for you philistines.) Wish our local liquor store did the same thing!!!
I wish, for its sake, that Peak were a little more clearly and centrally situated. It gets overlooked because the other place in town has much much more foot traffic past its premises. So, if you find yourself in Ned and are looking for a lovely little wine, beer, and spirits shop, please make the effort to find this place. If you do, you will find yourself returning again and again. Cheers!

LOVE this place! We were visiting friends who recommended we try out Eldora on our first day in Colorado. Unfortunately it left me with a bad taste in my mouth by the end of the day, but Peak Wine and Spirits changed my mood very quickly!
On Friday afternoons they offer free wine tastings, and we had the chance to try four different wines that I had never had before. They were all lovely and I ended up buying one as a gift for our friends. The owner is wonderful, friendly and very knowledgeable about wines. I encourage asking her for input if you’re unsure what to get. They had a fairly decent wine selection and the most amazing beer choices (Julian’s cider from CA!).
If you get a chance to swing by here you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be back next time we’re in CO!
