Beth’s Twin Bluffs Cafe

Beth’s has really changed. It used to be family friendly in all categories. We recently visited and ended up leaving shortly after being seated. The menu is WAY over priced for the area; it’s Nelson, not the Twin Cities! The décor hasn’t changed in the last 20yrs or more. Service is not what it used to be as well. Not especially a warm and fuzzy atmosphere for a grandma’s living room façade (rather chilly/​seemed unappreciated as a paying customer).
I felt better received at the cheese factory across the street… Which is where my son and I had our lunch. Kudos to Nelson Cheese factory. Maybe will try Beth’s again?

Good place for breakfast. Very good sausage gravy and biscuits, waffle with blueberry compote. Decent coffee. One of few places open early. Good value, generous portions. Would definitely eat here again.

Typical greasy spoon, diner-​esque breakfast spot. The décor is DATED! Think Grandma’s living room, with wallpaper and collector plates displayed on the walls. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. Our breakfast food wasn’t like OMG amazing!, but did the job of keeping us full until lunchtime!

Beth’s twin bluff café is nice local eatery. The food was tasty with good sized portions. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food came out quicker than expected and the special orders were correct.

Wandered down to Beth’s for lunch during an impromptu motorcycle tour of the region. If you’d like to get the picture in your mind, our riding gear is more astronaut than pirate.
Our friendly server started listing the specials and we stopped her after one; the hot beef sandwich. Smothered with gravy and served with a fluffy, buttery scoop of mashed potatoes, it looked the part. And then we were offered creamed or grated horseradish; I was pretty liberal with mine and it really opened up the flavor.
Finished the meal with righteous pie that was by all accounts homemade and locally sourced — I had the blueberry and my buddy had the rhubarb custard. Excellent on all accounts with a buttery, flaky crust and filling that was still bit tart and not the syrupy sweet mess you’ll find at lesser establishments.
One of the better small-​town diner’s I’ve patronized while wandering aimlessly around the Driftless Region, and certainly worth a stop if you have a predilection for well executed diner fare.

Food was good, nothing great. Not kid friendly at all. No high chairs or boosters, no lids for kids drinks and they were served in a glass cup. Service was ok, server kept walking away while we were ordering. We ordered 2 of 5 drinks and she went to get those before letting us order the other 3. It was a bit dingy but I guess that’s what an old diner feels like. I doubt I’ll ever go back.

Friendly service and delicious food. Nothing fancy, but definitely satisfying. Had the Spanish omelette and boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy. Both were yummy. If I lived in this area I would be a regular for sure.

I’m giving Beth’s 5 stars as a home town diner, not to be confused with a 5 star white table cloth, Resturant .
We had the Broasted chicken, mashed potatoes, apple sauce, and the Roast Pork, with homemade gravy, home made mashed, and carrots.
The Broasted «chicken breading «was as good as any NewOrleans local chicken shack, and the roasted pork, thick, tender, juicy, and delicious, it may be the best I’ve ever had. Sorry Grandmother!
The prices are a few dollars higher than most road side cafés but the food is very special, well prepared seasoned, and generous portions, enough for 2 people with light appetites, or one very large Lumberjack!
I’ll be back. Wish they had a beer selection, oh well!

Great place for an all American meal. We are vegetarians and often have a hard time finding food in rural areas but Beth’s was perfect for us — lots of good, simple food (grilled cheese, french fries, salad). Nice server who was helpful. We sat by the window and watched the sparrows flock around the bird feeder — very pretty view. If you are looking for trendy/​upscale, this is not the place for you, but if you just want a filling meal in pleasant surroundings, Beth’s is great!

Don’t let 1970’s décor dissuade you from eating here. We ate here two mornings in a row. I ordered the same thing. Stuffed hash browns filled with diced ham and scrambled egg. I think this area has the best hash browns in the world. Awesome. Service was fast and friendly. Very local place. It looks like some of the locals have been eating here 30 years plus… no kidding.

Always been happy with Beth’s. It is a nice small town resturant with basic comfort food. The service, value and quality of food keep us coming back when we are in the area.

On a long trip along the Mississippi river Beth’s Twin Bluffs Café was exactly the break we needed. The food was hot, fast, and delicious. We stuck to breakfast but couldn’t resist the pies as we saw them coming out of the kitchen. Our server, Megan, was a delight and kept the coffees fresh and a smile on our faces. I hope we find our way back there again someday. If you find yourself travelling the Mississippi and you’re looking for a classic American diner, this is the place.

They must have read Lana G’s review or were we just lucky? The part «a small midwest restaurant «hasn’t changed, but our waitress was excellent and the sesame crusted Mahi Mahi with pineapple salsa I had was much better than I expected. The ambient was straight up «supper club» and it was a busy Saturday night with local patrons.

A small midwest restaurant where the food is just food. Nothing wrong with it; nothing great about it. No alcohol and no Italian sodas, so instead of a healthy beer I ordered liquid junk food, a cola. Rude, untrained staff ran a small vacuum cleaner around the entire dining area as customers were eating. That’s the reason for the single star; otherwise, two stars.
