Used to go to this bar 30 years ago in school. The still have the giant fishtail sandwiches and the mine burger is their specialty. Aside from being cleaned up some this place still has the metal ceiling and is like going back in time. It’s still a hangout for the locals and everyone was friendly

Dark dive bar with Yuengling on tap for $ 2 each. Black walls, black painted tin ceiling and they had the Ohio State game on. Nice healthy mix of college kids, blue-​collar locals and bikers. Two sassy waitresses. Perfect.

Athens, OH
A bar on the square in Nelsonville. They are known for their hamburgers, so it is said, but the one I had would really makes me question that. I normally dont order pizza burgers but for some reason I did here and I still am not quite sure what I actually got. At first I asked the server if they had made a mistake and brought out a veggie burger as it looked like one, nope this is the pizza burger. Well it was two layers of something with cheese in between yet oddly no sauce. I am not quite sure if there was any actual meat or something that they fried.
In any case I dont think I will eat here again.
