Would have loved to eat here, but it is NOT handicapped accessible, despite having handicapped parking, and a ramp to the back door. Equipment in the kitchen(which you have to go through to get to the seating area… Health dept?) extends into the pathway, so even a small wheelchair can’t fit. Too bad… smelled good.

You can’t beat the ideal location of this café in Neskowin! Pizza and crème brûlée is perfect before strolling out to Proposal Rock!

We’ve been here several times. It’s a quaint spot and a lovely location in Neskowin with beautiful views. Mind you, there’s really only the market/deli(yummy w/great wines, cheeses, produce but $$$), this restaurant and one other(new, right next door) to eat at in this tiny coastal town. Pros: –View –Attentive service –Good wine selection –Portions are decent(for most) –Cozy fireplace –Nice variety on menu(except both soups heavy cream based) Cons: –They’re always out of something — and tell you after they deliver it to you(ex: sorry, we ran out of beans so gave you extra rice– fish taco. where are the craisins on the famous house salad? — oops. –not the best service when it comes to complaints(extremely bitter clam broth). «Sorry.» No comp. $ 14.50 or similar for that at 3 tiny pieces of bread to dip(sadly we couldn’t since broth was too salty) –skimpy skimpy skimpy wine pour — ain’t no 6oz! More like 3 oz. $ 10? Rip OFF but delicious wine! –getting orders wrong. «I asked for no scallions.» «Sorry.» No comp. –Most entrees do not come with soup or salad(extra $) –High prices overall for the quality Could use an overhaul by Robet Irvine from Food network. Would I go again? Absolutely. More likely for a tiny pour with a great view. We tried the other new restaurant in town but they were closed 12⁄26. Will try them next for food.

Fantastic breakfast for our large party with babies this morning. Very family friendly — high chair was no problem, changing table in the bathroom, server went out of her way to accommodate the little ones(water cup with straw, speedy fruit plate). Our 10-month old made a bit of a mess as usual(sorry!), and everyone was entirely gracious about it. Many delicious food options for our collection of dietary restrictions. Service was fast and friendly. We’ll definitely be back!

Just had the huevos rancheros and they were great. Salsa Fresca on top of the eggs and retries. A whole half an avocado and the best crisp cottage fries with skins on. Menu was broad including homemade cinnamon rolls. Lovely location and interior. A real hidden gem.

Whenever my wife and I stay at the proposal rock inn. One of the highlights it’s going to eat at the Hawk Creek Café! Everything we’ve eaten is fantastic. Nothings better than starting the day with cafes breakfast I usually I usually have biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and the farmhouse potatoes. Then we hang out on the beach during the day then order one of their brick oven pizzas and take it back to the room with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset!

As stated, breakfast here is awesome. We ordered pizza one of the nights and it was pretty stinkin good. The crust was delicious and had good flavor. I can only really vouch for Breakfast though. Make sure you get there early and get a cinnamon roll. They are delicious! My wife and I will usually order a cinnamon roll and split it, then order a breakfast item and split that as well or else you’ll need a wheel barrow to leave the restaurant. Hawk Creek is one of our favorites on the coast. Staff is friendly and the food is good. I’d recommend it!

Have been here 4 tines in the last month and the service started bad and got worse with each visit. My wife had very fond memories of this café from the previous owner and was so excited that it was reopening. Sadly we have become more disappointed with every visit and don’t think we will give them another chance. Let me be clear that the food has been amazing, but the wait staff is unorganized and rude. They throw food down like slop and talk to you as they are walking away. I waited 10 minutes in the doorway before anyone even acknowledged I was there. We ordered the build your own omelets and ½ of the ingredients that we ordered were left off.(This happened on 2 different visits). Waited for 15 min to be spoken to after we were seated. then 10 more minutes for coffee. It’s sad because the owner is there and seems to be unaware fo the poor service and the message that her employees are sending. it seems that because there are not many options for a good breakfast in the area that they have you over a barrel and you have to take what you get. The good news is that we found Grateful Bread in Pacific City and it’s way better food and service! Thanks Café on Hawk Creek, but no thanks!

My wife was telling me how good the reviews were, especially on the pizzas. So, we are in the area celebrating the week of our anniversary and decide to try this place out. Our expectations were quickly met with the utmost disappointment. Seriously, charged twenty some dollars for a simple pepperoni pizza that was tasteless and had almost no pepperoni on it. I know that pepperoni is dirt cheap, so having an average of one to one and a half tiny pepperoni slices per piece seemed disgustingly cheap. The pizza was also very dry, lacking cheese, lacking pizza/tomato sauce. And the crust was okay until you got near the edge and it was like a tough and tasteless breadstick. The service was merely okay, but when we mentioned the lack of toppings to the server we were met with a little laugh and that was that.(I should have thought to take a picture). How anyone can give them five stars is beyond me. The ultimate in disappointment! Dramatically overpriced for the quality and quantity. Not sure if we could ever give them another chance – just such a letdown.

I will say that this review is pretty much strictly for the breakfast. We have eaten lunch here as well, but I will get to that later. Sue and I love Neskowin. It is one of our favorite places at the coast. We came here over the long holiday weekend to celebrate my birthday as well as to celebrate the long holiday weekend. While we were here we came to the Café on Hawk Creek for breakfast twice. It was that good. The first time we came we each had the Locals Favorite($ 9.50). Two eggs any style, cottage potatoes, smoked ham, bacon or sausage, with choice of toast, English muffin or homemade biscuit. I went with the smoked ham and you should definitely go for the biscuit. Just my opinion, but homemade is a key word for me. The ham was a very good choice as a pretty substantial slice came with my meal. So much food and very filling. We ended up taking the biscuits to go with us as we didn’t have enough room to eat everything. We also shared a small stack of their beer batter pancakes($ 6.75). I don’t think I had ever had beer batter pancakes before, but rest assured knowing that I will have them again. I believe I could actually taste some of the beer, but that might have been all in my head. On our way out of town we ordered a pizza here to go. We had been out to Neskowin for a day trip around the July 4th weekend and came here to order sandwiches to go. I had mentioned to Sue that it seemed like a lot of people were walking out of this place with pizzas. Thought maybe this was a gem pizza spot at the coast so we decided to try one for ourselves. About the pizza. Meh. We ate some of it out by the car(a large cheese pie with half onions and mushrooms $ 21.50) and we both were underwhelmed. It was soggy. That was the worst part. Didn’t seem to be much in the way of red sauce on it either. To be honest, it tasted better after we got home and it had been sitting for a few hours. Probably not going to be my go to for pizza at the coast. 2 stars for the pizza. Do come here for the breakfast. We came a second time during our weekend out here and it was just as good.

Good food(yes, including fries not just chips). Four stars for the area. Low key and more upscale than larger, popular venues in the area. Thoughtful and informed beer and wine.

Perfect pizza, perfect patio, perfect place to dine! When my husband and I were there, there was live music on the patio, the sun was shining and everything we ate was absolutely scrumptious. We got coffee, the spinach dip(got both bread and chips to dip in it — both were delicious) and one of the pizzas. I highly recommend!

You know I’m just so tired of places that assume since you’re a tourist you don’t deserve good service. We came with a party of 6, and were seated rather quickly. We sat on the patio, which is lovely and there was a lovely trio playing love music which was great also. We then sat for a very long time waiting for service. Our waiter finally came and we tried to order beer… Literally everything we asked for they didn’t have(3 or 4 options in a row). He kept saying the menu we had was old. So why was it given to us? Then we waited again(lovely music and good company) a really long time for pitchers of beer. Like 30 minutes long time. It was draft, big something they were brewing in the back. Then our food came. It was pretty good. I had the Fiesta Chicken, which was really good. Two of our party ordered pizzas, which came 10 – 15 minutes after the other meals came, so don’t order that if you’re hoping to eat at the same time. Meal progressed and funny enough the server came back about 4 times after we had everything we needed(but never came by when we were waiting for everything at the beginning). And then the check came. Party of 6, we had 4 cards and offered to tell him the exact amounts for each card. No go, he made us feel terrible for having even thought of splitting the check(because who ever does that these days?) and told us we could either split it equally(incidentally just as easy technically as splitting it into the four parts we had offered) or just charge one card. And so Venmo became our hero for the day instead of the restaurant. Summary? Patio was great. Food was good. Service was bad and we walked away feeling more like tourisy burdens than customers of any value. Would not go back.

As always, this place exceeds our expectations. Once a staple during our dating 11 years ago, and every couple of years the last decade, we came back to Neskowin to stay for our 10 year wedding anniversary, as we were engaged on the beach. The service was outstanding. We got there early to beat the crowd(and to enjoy the sunset on the beach with a bonfire), and our server was incredibly friendly and helpful. We brought our own bottle of wine, despite their rather impressive wine list(for a coastal spot) because it was a gift. Corkage $ 10, standard. We knew what we wanted to order and our server returns with amazing news — the evening’s specials. Freshly caught(that day) salmon prepared either grilled or poached, and an aged rib eye. I chose poached, as it has been years since I’ve done so. It was perfectly cooked, topped a lemon dill beurre blanc and accompanied by fresh steamed veggies. The portion was hearty, without being heavy. Teamed well with the incredibly fruit forward 05 Bergstrom Pinot Noir we brought. My husband is really picky about his steaks and he was so happy! It had the right amount of char, without being overdone and the inside was a rare side of medium rare, just as he requested. Garlic mashers and steamed veggies also done well. We honestly feel that this is one of the only places we know we can go and have consistently fantastic meals AND service. I just wished we didn’t live 2+ hours away!

Great staff and great service! I had been driving up the 101 all day and was looking for a place to stop for lunch. I randomly stopped here after pulling off the road and am so glad I did! This tiny café is perched next to a small creek that empties into the ocean. The building itself is small; if it’s at all close to being a nice day, I’d recommend ordering lunch to go and following the creek down to where it drains. There is a cool(rather large) island of trees surrounded by the sand that the river flows around and the ocean mesmerizingly crashes into the fluffy beaches. If you’re near Lincoln City this place is a must for a delicious and affordable meal.

I was looking for a place to stop and have something warm to drink when I happened on this small Café. Once inside, the friendly environment got my hunger juices going. Glad they did. Tried the soup of the day, a meatball soup. It was spectacular with fresh veggies and superb meatballs. Not enough to make a meal of, but an excellent appitizer. Had a hot choc which was delicious. Then went for a walk on the beach to the interesting lump of land called Proposal(tide was out) I’ll be back!

I’ve come here two days in a row for the Huevos Rancheros. Best I’ve ever had and those potatoes are amazing. Coffee is quality too and waitress is a sweetheart. Now I want to come back for lunch. So nice to have a great place to eat in Neskowin.

Drove in late on a Friday night the family was starving and we were looking for some food to fill our empty traveler tummies. Saw the open sign in the window and decided to give it a try. The place was quaint and small but very clean. We were seated immediately by our server. The menu looked great and we ordered right away. Our food arrived promptly and was very visually appealing. We all ordered different menu items and they were all fantastic. Very fresh ingredients were used in all of our dishes. I would be hard pressed to see this place receive anything less than 4 stars. Of course I have not tried the lunch or breakfast menu but I’m sure they would not disappoint.

My «breakfast alarm» sounded loudly as I was southbound on Hwy 101 in the early morning. My wife noticed the Farmer’s Market on the west side of the highway, and my eyes were drawn to the small café across the street. Priorities: breakfast first, then a stroll through the Farmer’s Market, followed by a walk on the beach with the dogs. We were greeted on entry, promptly seated, My simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, English muffin, potatoes, bacon strips and coffee got my day off to a fine start. My wife ordered something healthier(?) but every bit as tasty. The coffee was good, not great, but it was hot and wet, sufficient to trigger my pulse and to allow me to press on. I recommend the Café on Hawk Creek for breakfast. It’s a small place and the economy of space within is fine for 2 – 4 people to enjoy breakfast and conversation. We look forward to our next visit!

The cinnamon roll is humongous and delicious! Gooey, cinnamony goodness. I got the local favorite. Simple eggs, potatoes, choice of meat & bread. The bacon was delicious & just crispy enough. The eggs were poached perfectly. The homemade biscuit was also yummy. Definitely happy to find this on the way down from Astoria to Crescent City! The waitresses were also very kind!
