Descent food, crummy coffee. Forgot I tried their coffee a few years ago when I stopped thru NC. Was really needing a nicely done latte too.

I came here while out camping but I needed a place to hang out with decent wifi for a WebEx. It seems to be set up in an old residential building just about the main area of the historic town. It was a warm day and the air conditioning was nice inside. They had a fairly decent menu with sandwiches, warm and cold, salads, many iced and warm drinks. I had a chai latte and one of their iced teas. I also had the reuben sandwich. Service was pleasant, friendly. The person taking orders was new and one of the staff was training him, despite some difficulties, they handled it in a great way. The chai latte had good spice to it, was creamy and did hit the spot on a warm day, it started off with a fair frozen chunk of ice in it but melted by the time I was finishing, so the consistency could have been a bit better. The iced tea(black) really did hit the spot, enough that I ended up with two. The sandwich was above average. It was decently busy but still quite enough I could get through my meeting, the wifi also did great with it and handled the streaming with ease. I was very happy with my experience here and would definitely be back if I was in the area, but maybe this time more to just relax and enjoy my drink

We ordered our wedding cake and cupcake from this café. Felishia did a beautiful job on all of it. Thank you Felishia.

Probably the worst service I’ve ever had! One person at the register taking orders and four people in the back standing around, one being the owner, who wouldn’t lift a finger to help a customer. 20 minutes to get an iced coffee.

Wow! I love small towns and their little holes in the wall places. I ordered the bagels and lox and had a gingerbread latte. Delicious!!! The atmosphere was great too! It’s a small and really friendly place.

Ordered a latte and mocha, hit the spot. Wasn’t very busy so service was very quick. Looked to have a lot of seating and food options too. Quaint feel and setting, glad I Unilocaled it!

fresh. fresh fresh fresh fresh! oh my goodness. at first i didnt really give this place any credit. my partner, my daughter and i decided to take a day trip up to nevada city(great idea), and upon hiking up the hill, after many grumpy statements about starvation, we landed here. i ordered the turkey panini. oh my gosh. i LOVESTRONG flavor, and this panini was bursting with flavor. the bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with the right amount chewy. it was rich in fresh garlic that added a refreshing spice. they used fresh spinach for greens which complimented their fresh pesto. the panini was perfect. hands down, the best panini i’ve had in my entire life, and thats saying something, im a piggy. as a parent, the place is great for kids. there were some community members outside playing the ukelele. it was green, shaded, and calm. such a great community.

This is a really cute café! It may be surprising after living in this area my whole life that my first visit was only a week ago. I met a couple of friends for lunch. The menu had a nice selection. I chose the asian salad. Along with a small mocha. The prices were a little steep but the food was fresh. The mocha had a very nice flavor too. I enjoyed my experience here and will head back the next time my friend suggests it as a meeting spot.

This place is a hit or miss with me… I like the location, coffee drinks are usually good when food offering is not and the service is way too flimsy! i know its not rocket science but… I have been there many times and never know what kind of welcoming you are gonna get from the staff… Too bad because it could be great!

This is the best espresso in Nevada County. And it’s a quiet little cool place to take refuge from the heat or cold. My newest favorite café.

Wisdom Café(formerly Broad Street Books) is a nice independent coffee shop in downtown Nevada City. The place is pretty small and cozy, and serves delicious espresso drinks in an art gallery/bookstore setting. They also have bagels, pastries and snacks, and the prices are all pretty low. The books mostly deal with the local natural attractions(state parks etc) as well as meditation, eastern religions and yoga(quite an eclectic selection). They also have some seating outside. Nice place for relaxing over a good cup of coffee.
