It is now called Madison House. The proprietors, Ken and Barbie are very nice people. Their doggy, Madison, greets the guests too. It is very quiet and cool historic building that has been updated with modern room amenities. Its in the heart of NC too! We were up in November 2015 to do some shopping and see the sites. I love(to infinity) Nevada City.

We stayed at The parsonage for the film festival and had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean, quiet and quaint. Each morning we started with a very filling and wonderful breakfast. The owners were super nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been staying here for 8 years. They’re know for their breakfast — it’s really worth the visit just to experience breakfast! It’s cooked by the innkeeper and owner with fresh veg, eggs and meats from their farm. Really wonderful. Nevada City is beautiful and this B&B is a great way to experience this wonderful town. I always sleep well here and feel very taken care of.

The location is excellent, allowing us to walk to restaurants easily. The breakfasts were excellent, and the hosts, Abigail and Bill were friendly and responsive.

The breakfasts were fabulous, the rooms were comfortable, and the innkeeper was friendly and talkative. Unfortunately the«kitchen nook» in the cabin is nothing more than a microwave, a small frig, and a sink. Not my definition of anything with the word kitchen in it and definitely not the setup for any kind of cooking. Ended up moving to the outside inn for iur last night(would have moved earlier but they were full) which had really nice kitchen facilities.

One star off for the unexpected weird religiousity(is that a word) of the inn. should i have known based on the name«the parsonage» which is apparently where a church houses its parson? sure! but i am a jew, as was my traveling companion, and we had no clue. anyhow, we still haven’t figured out if we hilariously stumbled upon a christian bed and breakfast or if it just happened to be decorated with a lot of crosses, have children’s religious books in the bedside drawers, and a lot of guestbook entries from the rev and mrs so and so. the kind woman who runs the place is from shaker heights, ohio aka one hour from where i grew up and JEWCENTRAL. either way, the accommodations were great, the bed and linens comfy, the breakfast delicious, and the location ideal within nevada city. we were the only guests on a tuesday night toward the end of summer, and were treated like queens.
