This place is simply charming and delightful — a must-visit if you’re in historic downtown New Albany! I first heard about it through StyleBluePrint. They profiled the owner and highlighted the gallery a few months ago. It was then that I added it to my list of «Places to check out». Before you ask, yes, I do keep a running list of that handy! One brisk, bright Saturday morning, I headed across the Sherman Minton for a few hours. Copper Moon was immediately warm and welcoming. From the terra cotta-colored front door to the tin ceiling tiles to the exposed brick wall to the floors that creaked gently as you meandered through the gallery, it was full of character and great finds. Artwork, all for sale, decorates the walls, and runs the gamut from equestrian-themed items to famous sayings. One of my favorites was an arrangement of the famous Helen Keller quote, «The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched — they must be felt with the heart,» decorated with what looked like a driftwood heart above it. The copper theme continued all the way to the cash register, where a countertop of shiny inlaid pennies leaves a lasting visual reminder of where you just visited.
