There is a lot to love about this salon. If they weren’t terribly understaffed this would absolutely be a five star review
The staff at J Nicolle are incredibly talented and creative. It really feels like you are working with a hair designer when you sit in their chairs. The experience is relaxing too, services start with a neck and shoulder massage and shampoos include a hand massage. I always leave feeling refreshed. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the actual stylists.
BUT it is so hard to get an appointment. I have short hair that has to be done every 6 weeks or I look absurd. I always book my next appointment before I leave the shop. Even booking 6 weeks out it is nearly impossible to get my stylist of choice. I’ve been asked several times to come and get my cut and color on separate days. No thanks.
Today I got a call that my scheduled stylist had quit. They couldn’t even rebook me the same week with any other stylist even though my appointment is over 3 weeks away. The only way I could avoid waiting until 9+ weeks out from from my last cut was to agree to let absolutely anyone do my hair. Even then I’m stuck waiting a full extra week.
This salon is doing so many things right and has an incredible staff. It is such a shame that their scheduling issues cast a negative shadow over an otherwise positive experience.

I always leave here feeling like a «gazillion» bucks. (Thanks Adam for the gazillion). Was it gazillion or gajillion? Anyway… only visit J Nicolle if you’re looking for professional services delivered by the funnest, happiest, most authentic folks ever to be in the salon business. I freaking love everyone I’ve met here! Alexis is my gal and always takes time to make sure I’m happy and looking my best before I leave. I’m never ever ever disappointed with any visit here. Hair looking great and brows on fleek FLEEK! I must think I’m a Kardashian or something. Anyway, I look just about as good as I’m gonna get. If you’re looking for a $ 10 haircut, administered by some lifeless person between smoke breaks this is NOT your salon. I cannot recommend J Nicolle highly enough. Call now and make your appointment with Alexis, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

All the stylists are very professional and courteous. I have been coming here for more than two years for color, cuts, massages and nail services.

When I moved to southern Indiana, I tried several local salons before I came to J. Nicole. I only wish I could have found them sooner. This salon is on par and even better than most places I went to on the west coast. Danielle and Alexis have always done an amazing job with hair color and styling. The massage and facial I had with Leah were everything you would hope for in a massage and facial. I recommend this salon without reservation.

Alexis and Adam gave my sister and I pedi’s before her wedding. They were awesome, our feet look and feel great!
The shop has tons of character, great atmosphere! And they are a tip free salon which really takes the pressure off. Will return.

Gosh, how many characters do I have available for this review? Let’s see how many adjectives I can come up with for «fantastic.» Every one would describe my services at J.Nicolle.
As a Type A bride, I knew that I would need a time during my big day to just relax. I’m always to type to worry about others and be the main coordinator of whatever event I’m dealing with, so getting my bridal makeup done at this salon was the best gift I ever gave myself. I heard about J. Nicolle from another bride, and I was super surprised at the super reasonable rate for airbrush cosmetics ($ 60 – 65!). I did a trial run, and I cannot tell you how awesome I felt afterwards. My makeup artist did the perfect job at listening to my wants and making suggestions all the same. When I expressed that my lip color was a touch too dark, she immediately corrected it. I felt like a superstar.
On my big day, I cannot tell you how amazing it was to just sit down for 45 minutes and breathe. No phone calls to field. No messes to fix. Just me and my make up artist. After the rings were exchanged and cake was eaten, a ton of friends noted how great my makeup was… and how it suited me perfectly. I can’t say enough great things about this place – it’s a bride’s solution!

I only treat myself to a massage once in a while and of the five I have received this one was by far the best. Leah was utterly fantastic and I look forward to being a regular customer!

There’s just something awesome about a stylist that KNOWS hair. I’ve been to a handful of other places but my cut never comes out right. These folks just what they’re doing. Also, this is a ‘no tip’ salon, which is cool, cause that’s just one of those things that makes being a repeat customer cause once you tip a lot once, your stylist expects it every time. Not at this place! All the staff is awesome, you cannot go wrong with trusting them to walk out lookin’ good.

I can’t believe I haven’t already reviewed this salon.
I first started visiting about a year ago when I received a Groupon gift of 3 massages. My first appointment was with Jason and I’ve probably been back at least 3 more times and will always ask for Jason.
He does a tremendous job at making you feel relaxed and continues to give the best massages I’ve ever had. He customizes your massage based on how you feel and what you’re looking to get out of it for the visit and uses the best smelling Aveda oils.
On top of this, the staff is always so very friendly and the salon is comfortable and looks and smells great (as an Aveda salon would!).

I took my husband here for a gift massage. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered both of us drinks, even though I was just there to wait on my husband. While I was waited, they also gave ME a complimentary hand massage — very cool! When we were ready to leave, it was pouring down rain; the staff lent us an umbrella to get out to our car. My husband was highly complimentary of their massage; he said they did a great job targeting his problem areas.

After purchasing a Groupon Mani/​Pedi special, I seized the golden opportunity to treat myself to a bit of luxury today. This was my first time at this location, and I learned that this salon only recently relocated to this beautifully renovated building. I loved the look of the brick walls, wood flooring and original tin ceilings. All very chic. The smell of minty Aveda products and essential oils is a nice greeting too. While I was waiting for my appointment, one of the 2 masseuses gave me a very nice hand rub with Aveda lotion, of course. Later when I was seated with my manicure /​pedicure specialist, Logan, I was again treated to some aromatherapy of mint and blue oil and then a shoulder and neck rub. these were very nice and complementary amenities which added to my experience. Logan was very proficient and his attention to detail was evident. This is much different than the experience you might have grown accustomed to if you have visited the prolific strip mall nail salons. You know, the type that you will feel like you should have taken Mandarin Chinese in order to fit in. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Chinese, however, I don’t want to be left out of the conversation when I am subject.
This is a full service salon which offers massages, nail services, hair services and it has an esthetician on staff. I will be looking for a Groupon for massages as I am told there may be one coming and I would love to try that next!
One final note, I was prepared to give Logan a nice tip for a job well done, however he informed me that J. Nicolle is a «tip free» salon. He explained that the salon’s philosophy is that all clients should receive the same service, therefore tips are not necessary. He told me that the best appreciation for me to show would be a return visit, or a good review to my friends. I’ve got that covered, and I love the concept!
