I’ve been eating at Boathouse Grille for over a year, and I look forward to every visit. Why? Three words. Shrimp. Pot. Pie. A dish that makes me want to lick the plate. It’s that good. The staff is always friendly, smiling, and ready to please. Hostess was helpful. Bartender recommended great drinks. All in all a great night. And the highlight — SHRIMP. POT. PIE. You’ll thank me later.

This visit we had entrees Instead of pub food. Stick with pub food! Service good– waitress very pleasant but overworked. She did turn down the music volume when we asked. Thanks! Skip the crème brûlée. It’s not the best.

Last year I rated the Boathouse Grille 5 stars and called it a «Hidden Gem». We dined there at least 6 times during the season. The river view from the outside deck is picturesque and relaxing. Well, it is a new season and unfortunately our experience last evening was sub-par. The wait for service was excessive and the entrée was cool in temperature. We were told that it was the end of restaurant week so they ran out of several items on the price-fixe menu and were not offering alternatives. Our waitress was either new at the job or un-caring. She was certainly not empowered to be creative. I understand that the wait staff is limited until college students are available for summer employment. So we intend to try one more time after Memorial Day. If our experience does not improve, it will be our last time dining here.

The restaurant was exceptionally crowded because Yanni’s Too was closed for a private event. The service was overly confused and no one seemed to know what to do. Drink orders — even at the bar — were difficult to get filled. We sat outside by a cutout window to the bar. Nice idea. Met a friendly couple who also seemed disappointed by the service at the same cutout. Made the experience better. Ordered wings and calamari — they were good — but didn’t dare chance ordering dinner as the wait for everyone was crazy. Just an observation for the management team… assign stations, increase the number of bar staff, have the wait staff know where the food is going instead of asking random customers… when your taps are down and a customer asks for a bottled beer, it’s ok to say«we’re on the water so we only have cans». That is understandable but when the can arrives with the question«would you like a glass with that» you just seem silly and poorl

Food is okay. Service regularly terrible. Today, for instance, it was 10 mins from when we were seated till the two waiters figured out which would wait on us. Then a 10-minute wait for a beer, followed by a long wait for lunch. This place is not crowded, and this must be why. A great view of the Hudson, with outdoor seating. Poor choice of music, given the demographic. Bus persons do not refill water even. Poorly managed, alas. The staff are all kids. Lunch arrived 37 minutes after we did. Sigh. Okay, a word on the food. The French fries(battered) were fine: crispy, hot. The BLT was made from cold but crispy bacon bits(as for a salad), two wimpy tomato slices, a lot of kale-like lettuce, and no mayo, not even on the side. No training, no management, no good. Sigh again. Takes over an hour, when it’s not crowded, for lunch. Not good, not good At all.

The service was lousy. The wings that I got were cold. Waited over 45 minutes for my food. The best part was I literally had to walk to the bar myself to get a drink refill. This place needs to reshape for next summer. It’s at a nice location,

Really two and a half stars. We’re at the marina on our boat, a really nice marina, BTW. The restaurant is very convenient and very inconsistent. Ate here twice. Eating companion and I split the special salad and it was wonderful. EC had the special — salmon, but it was over cooked and overpowered with a horseradish sauce. My penne carbonara was really tasty, with lots stuff, and huge. We split the leftovers the next day for lunch. The next night we had Margherita pizza. Not so good. It’s supposed to be thin and crisp, not thin and soggy. They were very cheap with the ingredients, very little basil and no garlic. It was boring — even our wait person agreed. They obviously don’t know how to make one. For their edification, in case they read this, here’s one version: use olive oil on the dough, puts lots of thinly sliced plum tomatoes on top of that, add mozzarella, and bake. After it’s baked thin and crisp and done, add lots of basil, serve. EC and I have a theory that if a restaurant is on the water, it will never be a really great restaurant because they know people will come for the view, therefore the food can be mediocre. Unfortunately, this place is consistent with this theory.

Love this place. Hate the fact that a disgruntled employee would stoop so low as to make up a horrible post as that. Move on honey. This place is awesome with or without you. Love love love the food, atmosphere and every employee has gone out of their way to make my experience a wonderful one. I travel 5 hrs by boat to get here because it is fantastic.

All I can say is, ‘wow’. And that is not a good wow. The service was 100% top to bottom terrible. The staff was completely unorganized and there were 45 minute gaps where we would not even see our waiter. I think he was avoiding us on purpose! I had decided to take my family out for a nice sunday dinner at 4:30 so we could get home at a decent hour(had reservations). We did not even get our food until 7:30, and even then only 2 out of of 8 of us got our meals. We had to wait another 15 minutes for everyone else to get their food as well. That is not a typo… we waited 3 hours for our food. The food was mediocre and that is being nice. Do not waste your time or your families time and money going here!!!

The fried artichokes are heavenly and the staff is super nice. Pretty venue. Sit outside.
