I was more than happy to give my business to a small, ‘mom and pop’ type motorcycle dealer, but found out that can have some serious draw backs. Bought a 2013WR250 Yamaha. Paid in full apon delivery. A little over a year later I received a federal recall letter stating«Do not drive your motorcycle until completed.» Contacted Archies and was told part was on back order. Took over 30 days before part came in. When trying to schedule this repair, which was a one hour repair according to the letter, I was confronted by a surly man named«Tony» who told me I could leave my bike for a few days, and they would«get to it». I objected to leaving my bike at all, overnight for a one hour repair, especially considering the drive I had to make to get there. His reply. «We don’t do drive up service». I called the office of the place and talked to the lady I bought the bike from, and echoed the desire to have this repair addressed in a reasonable(one day) time frame. She was no help at all. I contacted Yamaha, and expressed my unhappiness that THEIR dealing partner seemed to feel no obligation to do such a repair, in reasonable time frame. Yamaha rep stated«well…they are an independent dealer, and we cannot tell them what to do.» Really ?! No guidelines for these dealers to address federal safety recalls? «Leave it, and we’ll get to it.» So… if a weak inventory, in a run down area of New Bedford, with a service dept. that feels no obligation to you, if its not a «customer pay» job appeals to you… then this crappy Yamaha /Honda dealer is ideal.

I’ll try to keep it short. No part of my experience there was positive. Started when a week to 10 day lead time turned into 3 weeks. They also lied to me on two occasions during this time period. There was damage done to my bike that of corse they denied but I have pictures and a witness. They also did not complete all the work I had asked them to. I can’t speak for there sales department but service was a nightmare.

Traded in my Triumph for a V-Star 950 Tourer. First went to their web-site, as I did several other Yamaha dealers. Put in the requested info on the trade. They were the only dealer that e-mailed me back with a firm(but understandably had to see it first, quote). What are all the other dealers afraid of? Every other dealer had a place to put in the trade info in order to get a quote. I went in twice, spoke to Karen the owner and manager Bill. Friendly and knowledgeable. They gave me a slightly better price on my trade because it was in excellent condition, along with a discount on accessories. I couldn’t see myself buying anywhere else in the future.
