The folks at Spicy Lime are very customer-oriented. They are quick, attentive, friendly and genuine about it. The restaurant is nothing fancy — just a 10×30 room with some hodgepodge tables and chairs but you’re not going in for the ambience, you’re going for the staff and, more importantly, the food. My favorite is Green Curry but their Pad Se-Ew and Tom Kha soup are also excellent. Give them a try; you won’t be disappointed.

Simply great authentic Thai food. Try the volcano duck or the spicy fish! Phil and his wife are great people!

This review is for takeout only. Since school is over soon and I’m only going to live in New Bedford for another week, I figured I’d hit up places I’ve been meaning to try and Spicy Lime was on my list. The guy over the phone was friendly and verified that I was calling the right place(I guess my area code threw him off). I ordered the shrimp salad and he asked me how spicy I wanted the dish, telling me that medium was really hot. It didn’t come out spicy at all, not even a little(I’d say I have medium tolerance for hot spicy foods compared to most). Despite the lack of heat in the salad, it was overall flavorful and had a depth that some Thai places fail to achieve. The pork gyoza tasted good, too. They’re on the smaller side as far as gyoza goes, but it’d make a good app to share and there was a good number of them. The dipping sauce was way too salty, although the flavor in that was good, too. The food here satisfied my taste buds but I didn’t feel like I got a good bang for my buck. I paid $ 16 and walked out of there with a good portion of gyoza, BUT I noticed that my bag was almost weightless. I figured since I got salad, it was bound to feel light. When I got home, I saw why — the salad was TINY. Like $ 3 – 4 side salad tiny. I paid $ 8.50/$ 9 for it and got a half salad(was it even as big as a half salad)?? I wondered if whoever prepared it took a SMALL handful of lettuce and just threw it into the to go container. Maybe they were running low, who knows. The dish’s saving grace was that the shrimp was cooked perfectly and the salad itself was packed with very pleasing flavors. I just wish there was more of it. The décor of the place was a bit odd, I think it could do for a makeover but I think whoever’s in the kitchen knows what they’re doing so it’s worth checking this place out at least once.
