The Accidental Artist

I’m not understanding all the rave reviews here. The owner is not a people person and seems like she is miserable and would rather be anywhere else.
Anyway, onto the review… was a guest for a bachelorette party and while we had a great time and the owner’s helper was «helpful» it seemed they couldn’t wait to get us out of there. The possibilities are endless and the supplies are top notch. everything was set up upon our arrival too! :) I wouldn’t bring my young kids here because I would feel I would be walking on egg shells to not get on the owners nerves. I was extremely satisfied with my end product tho. And I love the decorative creative feel she has going on in the store.

We arranged a Bachelorette Party here. We decided to have it after hours. We only had nine women, but it was so worth paying a bit extra to have the place to ourselves, rather than having the party during regular business hours.
Joan (the owner) was extremely helpful in the planning & execution of the party. She was there during the party, explained tips and techniques and patiently helped us all with any questions that came up.
Our group worked on a mirror that is surrounded by 4×4 inch tiles. Each guest painted one or two tiles. This made a great group project and a memorable gift for the bride-​to-​be. We were able to bring in food and drinks, and had plenty of room to spread out.
Once you paint your project, there is usually a four day turn around for them to fire it and have it ready for pick up. I was so pleased with the final outcome.
I highly recommend this venue for parties or just to go and find something off their shelves to paint.

What a wonderful place! I went with some family, including kids, and everyone had an amazing time. You pick out what you want to paint — cups, bowls, figures, letters, plates – all kinds of things. Then you can paint, stamp, write, bubble, use puffy paint, glaze, and more to your heart’s content.
You pay for the cost of the item as well as a studio fee of $ 8/​adult and $ 3/​kids (I think). On Sundays, the kid studio fee is waived.
The ladies working there were very helpful and patient in showing us how to do things and answering our thousands of questions.
When you get there, the tables are all set up for you and ready to go — with cups of water, lots of paintbrushes, paper towels, little ceramic plates to pour paint onto, and sponge applicators. Everything is organized and convenient.
It was such a nice way to spend a few hours. Kids and adults alike were happy.
When you are done, you leave your piece there and pick it up about 4 days later.

Our church ladies decided to have a night out at the Accidental Artist last night. We were able to get the back party room and there was plenty of room. They allowed us to bring wine and food and had a table set up for that. They also provded the wine glasses. Our studio fee was waived I think because of the size of our group. Normally I think its an $ 8.00 studio fee and if you dont finish your piece the first night you pay a $ 4.oo studio fee. But neither applied to us. So we all picked our pottery to paint and those prices ranged from $ 2.00-$ 50.00. And thats for the firing process as well. We were assigned «Lindzey» as our helper all evening. She was great. Very helpful and gave all kinds of help to all of us novice painters. The studio itself was pretty full for a Friday evening. I think there was only 1 table empty by 7:00 p. m So you may want to make reservations… not sure. We had the back room from 6 – 9:00p.m. The only think I would say that wasnt as pleasant, was the room temperature. It was unbearably hot! I wasnt the only one who felt that way. It was the concenses of all the ladies in our group. Over all the evening was extreamly fun and I would love to do that again. What a great way to spend an evening!
On a side note, they have all kinds of specials and events for children and adults. It is an activity that was being done by all ages. There was one table last night that was about 4 people over 60 years old. Moms painting with their kids and like us just ladies. CHECK IT OUT!

So much fun! Even if you are not creative they make it easy to create a masterpiece!!!
