The Boathouse carries a great selection of nautical themed gifts. The owner is courteous, attentive, and full of good advice. On a recent visit for a last minute gift, she not only helped me select the perfect gift, but went above and beyond to wrap the oversized item beautifully.

We had orders from my brother’s wife to buy t-​shirts here, so we sidetracked from our primary mission and got the shirts. The shop is located in a tidy old section of New Bern just a stone’s throw from the place where somebody invented Pepsi. I loathe Pepsi, but if you are on an historical foray, check out that, then pop in and buy something here.

If anything nautical is your passion then this store is a must-​see. It has everything you need to decorate your den, or your boat, or even your office, with nautical inspired gifts. They have hats, t-​shirts, build-​your-​own ships in a bottle, signal flags, nautical charts, throw pillows and more. My favorite was the colored glass prisms used to bring light onto the lower decks of boats. I had only seen them in blue, but the Boathouse had several other colors. The old nautical charts are interesting as well, and make you appreciate the old-​school way of charting the seas.
