Every meal is consistent with excellent quality, creative imagination, super smiling service! A local owner and operator, this restaurateur knows how to meet the needs of her community through food and fun! Nothing missing here for me except when I miss a week eating here.

Delicious little wine and cheese shop. The gourmet cheeses are awesome as well as the goat cheese and pear salad. Excellent service would do again.

What an amazing find after seeing an ad that said they were voted to have the best grill cheese sandwich in NB.(We are new to the area) The three of us each tried a different version of the sandwich & all three were equally impressed. I had the jalapeño popper version & it was melt in your mouth delicious ! The owner was extremely friendly and helpful; outstanding service was a bonus. The shop also has many other delectable offerings as well as cute wine & cheese accessories. Certain to return many times!

A great place for a gourmet sandwich, a gift, a bottle of wine or gourmet ice cream. Fun, casual environment, but a super snooty selection of fine cheeses.

Gourmage is a Parisian inspired cheese shop and lunch spot nestled in the historic downtown center of New Braunfels. The place is full of wine knick-knacks and gear like pouters, chiller sticks, glassware etc. You naturally can also grab from some choices of wine by the glass or bottle. The employees literally couldn’t be nicer if they tried. They love wine and cheese and all the joy that they bring. When asked about the three cheese samples they had out they replied with pure glee. Stating such descriptors as, «amazing» «delicious» «it even looks beautiful!» Their cheese of the week was marked at 20% off, might be a regular thing which is cool. It was a Murcia al Vino. A deep purple wine soaked exterior that as the employee put it, «fades to a wonderful snowy white when you get to the center.» While here I grabbed a grilled cheese since they just won the Best of the Wurst award for their grilled cheese. It was quite adorable at $ 6.75 for a sandwich and chips. I selected the havarti with rosemary ham. It was a little thinner of a sandwich than I’m used to by Texas standards but the cheese was a plenty and filling so I left quite happy. Other choices were Manchester with prosciutto and fig and even a special jalapeño popper inspired grilled cheese. If you’re looking for a lovely quick and delicious lunch spot while in New Braunfels then look no further. Grab some cheese for the road while you’re here.

I usually get the Roast Beef with Au Jus, which I love. But today I had the Roasted Red Pepper Soup and a salad with Earl Gray vinaigrette. It was awesome. The soup had so much flavor, perfectly balanced. The home made croutons really make the salad special and the piece of bread that came with was a good quality baguette slice with just the right crisp around the edges.

I gave this place several more try’s and have been impressed with the selection of cheeses and wine. I’m still not crazy about the sandwiches they are still hit or miss. But I’m a regular now and really enjoy the staff.

A wonderful wine and cheese shop in downtown New Braunfels. Gourmage has a wonderful array of cheeses, chocolates, and other gourmet items. They also make amazing sandwiches. I recommend any of the grilled cheeses, which are very affordable. Their selection of wine is great and they also have a few bombers/liters of local beer for those of us who don’t drink wine.

Cheddar cheese soup I could not eat. Very bitter. Side of bread and croutons were fine. I think I just ordered the wrong thing.

What a nice treat! Love trying new cheeses and the samples were large. Been there twice, and plan to become a regular customer. The grilled cheese sandwich with Havarty cheese was quite possibly the best I’ve ever had!

Try the manchego with prosciutto and fig! It’s is simply divine. My guy got the havarti with rosemary ham and it was incredible as well. A diamond hidden in downtown New Braunfels!

A great little find. It’s not a true restaurant in terms, so as long as expectations are tempered from that standpoint, you shouldn’t be disappointed. The grilled Havarti, with or without strawberry balsamic jam, is fantastic. There are also flavored salts, different cheese, and a variety of unique chocolate truffles, and interesting flavored ice creams. Goat cheese ice cream? Ok… it’s worth a shot!

The chocolate truffles are amazing… you can tell they are artfully prepared; my faves are the sea salt caramel truffle, the champagne truffle, and the crème brulle truffle. They also have made-from-scratch ice creams with lots of fun flavors(the vanilla bean is good, too!). I’ve seen goat cheese ice cream(a nice surpirse) as well as, triple chocolate, and several flavors made with local brews. They also have the most impressive selection fo cheeses in New Braunfels and the employees are always so knowledgable about ALL of their products. I love Gourmage!

What a find! I had bookmarked Gourmage after reading some positive Unilocal reviews awhile back, and finally had a chance to try it while passing through New Braunfels. I was having a terrible time trying to decide between all the delicious sounding grilled cheeses. One with havarti, one with a chimay cheese, and one with manchego. Ultimately, I opted for the manchego with a side salad. Solid choice. They use a generous portion of melt-friendly cheese on these sammies, and I love that they aren’t overwhelmingly large, just in case you want a truffle or croissant at the end of your visit. Something that was obvious from the get-go, these ladies really know their customers, and if they don’t know you, they get to know you. I had the most pleasant conversation with one while she explained the place to me, and then watched her greet every customer by first name as I worked away on my laptop(yes– free wifi!). If I lived in NB, this would be a go-to place for lunch, gifts, or a cheese tray for that upcoming social gathering.

What a great little shop in the middle of historic downtown New Braunfels! I mean what’s not to like??? Wine, cheese, chocolate! Um, yes please! They have a great cheese selection and even better they are willing to let you taste without feeling like you are begging for a handout! They also have an incredible candy(mostly chocolate) counter with turtles, fudge, toffee bars, and… homemade marshmallows! The wine selection could be a little better, but there is some variety. They are very helpful and even more knowledgeable about the wines, flavors, and pairings. And bonus, they do serve lunch! Great sandwiches and soups!

I may be biased because these wonderful people were the best neighbors during my year spent in New Braunfels, but I know if Tourist Samantha wandered in seeking good wine recs and good cheese, she would come away more than satisfied and super happy to have met such fantastic cheese mongers. Will and Jan have a true passion for their customers and for their craft. They will help you find the wine for you among their chosen selection, and you can try any cheese you like. And when I say cheese, I don’t mean«white» or «yellow.» I mean CHEESE. Grab a picnic basket, a baguette, your favorite vino, some dessert, and even gourmet dog biscuits for Spot before you head to Landa to soak up some pre-fall action. And tell them I said hello! **Update: Gourmage is moving! Stop by their new location at 270 W. San Antonio(just right down the road)…still New Braunfels… still just as awesome!

Where do I even begin with this gem? I love everything about this shop;) The front of the store has a cute old bike ready to be taken out for a stroll! I always walk in to smiling faces and a knowledable staff. If cheese, wine, foreign ingredients intimidate you. You have found your place to shop. Taste the cheese before you buy it, even swap recipe ideas. They carry my Oranginas which i cant find anywhere in NB. Join them on Saturdays for great wine tastings and cheese pairings. Will and Jan are the owners, thank you for bringing this business to New Braunfels!
