While customer service can be okay at times, it’s always frustrating how unorganized the movie rental sections are. I can never just go in to find the movie I’m looking for because it’s never where it should be(based on alphabetical order). I always need to ask for help on finding a title. I don’t know if the employees ever take time to organize the movies or if the shoppers in this area are too lazy to put a movie back where it should be. Ugh frustrating!

I love Hastings! This is my splurge store. They have everything I love. Comics, electronics, books, toys, and everything in between. I always make a dent on my wallet walking into this place. It’s like your favorite comic book store, Barnes and Noble, and Best Buy all had a child. I can spend hours here. There is stuff everywhere. A bit spastic when it comes to some stuff but organized where it needs to be. For you Funko lovers the carry Entertainment Earth exclusives in store. Looking for a movie, I guarantee Hastings will have it for sale or rent.

Bad customer service. Won’t be back. This place is cluttered and unfriendly in its atmosphere.

I honestly forget about this store. Books are these paper things with words in them and stories and you have to turn the pages with your fingers to read! Very cool. This place has lots of them. They also sell things teenagers like, like Adventure Time, One Direction, Minecraft, etc. Oh and they sell music instruments and music! My kids found the piano music to all the Original Supermario games. Score! Huge plus is the $ 5 check in coupon. Yes please!

I freaking love this store! Everything about it is amazing. So many movies to rent & choose from which is huge in today’s day & age considering in my mind red box sucks and they somehow managed to take most movie rental places out of biz :(also, they have an AMAZING book selection with a wide variety both new & used reasonably priced books to choose from.

We came to hastings to look for a specific comic and a lady by the name of Maddie was super helpful. She searched through her entire inventory just help us find the comic we were looking for. If you come into hastings ask for Maddie. If the manager see’s this then you must know. This young lady deserves a raise a medal or a cuddle of some sort cause she is a asset to your store.

I love Hastings and always have but I was a little disappointed that they have an expired coupon from February 2014 that they give you when first check-in. I understand that you don’t have to put coupons on Unilocal, but it kind of threw me off when I asked about it and the manager was like, «we don’t really use Unilocal.» My thought is you could at least take down the offer instead of giving false hope and not seeming to empathize with the customer. It’s the lack of empathy that one person had that turned me off of staying longer at Hastings. I’ll just stick to the Hastings in San Antonio and San Marcos from now on.

Do Not Order from Hastings online. It took 13 days to get my order. Customer service made no apologies or any offer to make up for something taking that long to ship. You can get a package to Australia by first class mail faster than it took to ship one CD from Washington to Texas.

Growing up, renting movies was an integral part in me becoming a well adapted adult that gets references to cult classics, the obscure indie film and everything in between. While most brick and mortar movie stores have fallen by the wayside, Hastings is still alive and well. Walking in, you’re immediately hit by the vast size of the place and you get a visual sample of everything they have to offer: books, magazines, movies, cd’s, vinyls, board games and so much more. I could spend hours finding little gems left and right. They almost always have great specials on books and movies which is what I come for so if you’re looking for a bargain, check em out. The staff is usually helpful and they seem like a laid back crowd generally speaking so don’t be afraid to ask for help. All in all, this place is pretty awesome. The selection of product is wide, the prices for ½ the merchandise is competitive and the staff is pretty good. Way better than Barnes & Nobles, Blockbusters or any other similar store in every which way. Added Bonus: Fork & Spoon is right next door and boy is it good for breakfast or brunch!

Hasting’s is just about the coolest store in the world. Why don’t we have them in San Antonio? This place has just about everything you can imagine in entertainment: books, movies, comics, toys, electronics, and other assorted nerd paraphernalia – and all at fabulous prices! The only negative thing I can say about this particular location is that it’s really messy. But it’s still pretty cool. If you’ve never been to a Hasting’s, I suggest you check it out ASAP!

Reading literature, listening to music, and watching movies have all been pivotal in helping me through my most recent bout with depression. This Hastings is next in line from my therapist office. LOL I no longer have dishtv so it’s back to the old DVD rental routine for olé Verna. Lately I’ve been in the mood for war movies. Hastings has all the classics-Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, Paths of Glory, etc. Watching these films helped raise my spirits. LOL. But seriously I realize I’ve got it pretty good if I could only stop smoking for good. But I appreciate the one stop shopping aspect of this place. Not long after moving out of my family home I realized my ex had ended up with all my Kings Of Leon cds. I was able to pick up new ones here while renting DVD’s for the evening. I gotta be honest though this place can be dangerous to a gal like me’s pocketbook. Books, movies, and music start to add up. These days money’s been tight. But their prices are reasonable and sometimes I deserve to splurge on myself, even if I do owe a friend some money. Hopefully I won’t run into her at the Hastings. LOL.

Used to come here during my lunch breaks when I worked at a small office behind the shopping center. Lots of magazines, books and music. Your typical hastings!

I’m never big on «selling back» anything but clothing. College years have taught me the cold hard lesson that you will never get a fair amount. It’s just the way it is. But in my moving process, I’m less opposed to the idea since I’ve got extra time and little funds. So, when I had a few books and a couple DVD’s left over after a swap, I decided I might as well give Hastings a try. I was told they’d call me over the intercom when they were done«evaluating» my wares. This gave me a secure feeling that it would be a fair exchange. And, with barely ten customers in a store teeming with employees, I knew it wouldn’t take long. 30 minute wait + $ 3.50 cash back /the fact that the store had so few customers & plenty of employees on the floor = unhappy and somewhat mystified Samantha. I know I’m going to get screwed when I sell back my books to the university but at least they have the decency of doing it quickly and not pretending it’s anything than what it is.
