Great course of your in the area and looking for a fun track with some decent elevation changes. The Marshall’s were great and the pace of play was good. The par 3’s are definitely the toughest of the holes on this course. There are some fun shorter par 4’s. The tee boxes could use some work and some areas of the fairways could probably use some trees cut down to give them more breathing room and sun.

Challenging course with fast firm greens and elevation changes from the tee. Some of the toughest short par-4’s I’ve played. Lots of trouble off the tee but if you hit your lines, you will be rewarded. The price was great at only $ 35(week day twilight) which was roughly ½ of what I expected to pay. The staff was also courteous and helpful. My first choice of courses to play when I’m in that area.

Horrible pace of play. 5 hr round and staff couldn’t have been any more indifferent. As my customer said«Batton Death March.» Don’t waste your time. Many better options in this part of the world.

What sadistic bastard designed this course? A 214 yard par 3 on the second hole?! Appropriately name«too much too soon», hole No. 2 is one of the many holes at The Bandit in New Braunfels that will keep you guessing and second guessing at your club selection and strategy while traversing through the beautiful Texas hill country. Considering this region endured such a brutal summer it is great to see that the courses have recovered nicely with the autumn rains and superior course management. Some of the other highlights include the No. 14 short par 4 called«The Bandit» that is a severe dogleg right, so if you’ve got the grapes you might consider going over the trees from tee to green. Not a chance in hell from this group. No. 7’s «Lone Star» par 5 which gives you the chance to reach in two if you get the distance and angle on the tee shot. I was happy enough to stick it in three. No. 10’s «R.I.P» whose creek is close enough for the long hitter to reconsider whether or not he can clear it or perhaps use a shorter club. For me it sets up beautifully for my shorter drive. No. 13’s «Lake Breeze» which demands you clear the 150 or so of the pond without overrunning the green. Splash! No. 8 and No. 16 «Sunrise and Sunset» which are two of the most magnificent elevated tees you will ever find in the state of Texas. These tee boxes require a moment of reverie and a moment of thanks. And finally the No. 18 monster par 5 «Long Creek» which plays like two holes and is by far the most difficult finishing hole I’ve ever played. At 520 you will spend your first few shots getting down the fairway and then take on an approach over a ravine to a narrow green guarded by a pot bunker underneath and trees above. Bring plenty of balls and some holiday resolve and enjoy a crisp autumn day out in the hill country.
