New German deli in town with an occasional table at the NB Farmers Market on Saturdays. The deli is in an unassuming building next door to Little Caesers Pizza, but it’s very large inside, clean, and nicely decorated. They have a surprisingly large menu of sandwiches, soups and salads, also breakfast items. The day I went I had a regular turkey sandwich, bread baked on site was great. I also got a cup of the goulash, the soup of the day that day, which as soooooo amazing, I could have eaten a giant bowl of it. We bought a loaf of whole grain and they sliced it for us, they also have an assortment of pastries that looked pretty amazing.

I love this place! I love the food and I love the atmosphere. If I lived closer I’d probably come several times a week. Both times I’ve been there for lunch I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. I’d never had pulled pork with the coleslaw inside the sandwich and I loved it. The bread was fresh out of the oven – perfect. The sandwich was served with chips and a dill pickle but the second time I went I opted for their tomato basil soup which was delicious. Their bakery items all look fantastic and we’ve tried some of their yummy cookies and a few other dessert options as well. Its fun to go in and have lunch and then sit back and enjoy some cookies and a coffee. This place is spacious and open and very bright and airy. I absolutely love it and will definitely be going back many times. Its worth the drive!(another bonus is the children’s museum there in New Braunfels is almost directly across the street so go there first with the kids and then come have lunch at Uwe’s)

Stopped in for breakfast to go before work and was super pleased. Made to order egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich on a soft sesame seed roll. The egg was unctuous, the bacon hearty, and the bread was chewy but soft. Not only was the food delectable, but the service was fantastic. I highly recommend trying something here, the pastries looked scrumptious but I had no time to try them. I will be back.

They have a variety of brotchen. So delicious and fresh. The outside of the roll was crusty and the inside dense and wonderful. We also tried the croissants and danishes. Also, delicious. The only thing we didn’t care for was the German pretzel. It was so salty. I love salty foods but this was even too salty for me which was such a disappointment because other than the overwhelming salt the taste and texture of the pretzel was perfect. We’ll be back for sure. If you are craving fresh bread come here! I can’t deduct a star for the pretzels because everything else was superb.

I got my breakfast to go this morning. I had prompt service. The pastries I tried were their Brotchen bread. I had a moment with this piece of bread. I thought of taking a picture a couple of hours after consuming it. That’s how involved I was with this generous sized piece of bread. I forgot to snap a picture. I’ll be more conscious in the future. I also had a cherry, cream cheese pastry puff. A little sweet to balance out the savory. All bread is made from scratch. All of you looking for that Artisan Bread in New Braunfels this IS the bakery you need to hit up.

What happens when you swing by just before closing time at Uwe’s Bakery? EVERYTHING! I couldn’t believe the service I received… they didn’t have fresh coffee when I ordered it… no problem… they made it fresh for me! They only had a small Mediterranean salad available… I ate it… and it was SO amazing with the fresh pesto! I was bragging so much about how good it was, they offered to make a big fresh salad for me to purchase before leaving! Yes please… I’ll take another! AMAZING! Donald was the fella who made the coffee and salad on Saturday and another gal was there with a great big smile… between the 2 of them, it made for a perfect First Time visit… and let’s not forget it was only a few minutes before closing time on a Saturday! Bravo to the Uwe team for hiring folks who care and Bravo for making quality products! I will be making a special trip to return over the holidays for sure! Thanks!

My friend suggest to meet here for breakfast as it’s close to her house and it’s fairly new place in town. She has tried a few items from the menu and she has a favorite and I’m going to have to agree with her, I will be back to have another!!! Uwe has a nice selection for breakfast but I went with my friend’s choice… Eggs Italiano Sandwich… two eggs(I chose over medium), prosciutto, mozzarella, provolone, tomato, drizzled in pesto(ask for extra pesto) on a soft roll. This was an amazing sandwich. I was please with how soft the roll was which made the sandwich a delight to devour. I was so excited to try it that I forgot to take a pic. I guess I will have to go back and to try it again. The Bakery doesn’t look like much from the outside… but just wait until you walk into the door… it’s hard to imagine that it is a large as it is. Booths line one wall. Bakery items with different choice of breads line the opposite wall. Large group tables are in the middle which makes it perfect for that group of men having a coffee meeting the morning I was there. Right before I left, I spotted Santa grabbing his bakery goodies to go. You should have seen the huge smile on my face with lots of giggles watching him.

Germany bakery at its finest. Bread and pastries are superb. Danishes are light and flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. Cakes are decadent especially the“punch cake” The deli is great especially with variety sandwiches and sausages. You need to try their Thuringer sausage, people would probably want to cover with mustard but try it without first its a treasure of flavor. Speaking of flavor, their coffee which is roasted for them is full bodied and will get you going in the morning. It is especially pleasing on cold mornings and now can be flavored at your request. New flavors with old world charm that’s Uwe’s Bakery and Deli.

Picked up a Buttermilk pie for thanksgiving.9″ for 16.00? Hmm totally unimpressed. Even HEB has better buttermilk pie(and that isn’t very good either) Uwe’s high prices are acceptable if the pie was high quality, what a shame, Very disappointed.

The former owners of the Theis German Bakery inside the Fork and Spoon restaurant now have a new, very spacious bakery and café to exhibit their baked goods. As you enter, you are greeted with square wooden boxes mounted on the walls containing all of the day’s whole baked German loaves for sale. There is even a section of day old breads, which are 50% off. next comes the long glass case which contains dozens of pastries and cakes. I chose a fruit danish topped with cherries and kiwi. It was light, flaky, and low sugar content. I’ve noticed German pastries are not heavily sugared. The specials of the day are on the front board as you enter. One special is Currywurst with brotchen(German Roll) for $ 3.99/cup. They also make sausages and sandwiches, which you can order and eat in their large dining room. I encourage you to come to their afternoon happy hour, where you can get a slice of cake or pastry and a cup of coffee for about $ 3.50. The staff and owners are super accommodating.

Located next door to a pizza place, 1024 W. San Antonio St., Unit B — Uwe’s Bakery and Deli’s business and website need a little explaining up front. Uwe’s Bakery and Deli’s business is actually a sit down restaurant, which you can also phone in orders and pick up, or even just walk in and have items prepared. Drive too fast and you’ll miss it as their business sign is tiny and hard to spot, but if you don’t come in, your missing one of the best new kept secrets in New Braunfels. The website immediately says«Place your order online for in store pick up!» Well, maybe they will update the website so folks know this is a Bakery, Deli, restaurant. The breads are excellent. So many to choose from. Cookies, Sweets, Breakfast sandwiches, too many items to mention here, but all worth a try. The love the specialty breads they produce. Plenty of tables to sit at, it’s just plain BIG inside. Bring a group! Welcome to New Braunfels Uwe, we needed another outstanding food option in town. Yeah, they do bakery right here.

This place is always amazing and has true German flavor. The bread is all reminiscent of my grandmothers bakery and is a comfort food for sure! My fiancé got the Ruben and I got the roast beef we shared a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup everything was perfect. The sauerkraut on the Ruben was crisp and didn’t make the sandwhich soggy. The horseradish on the roast beef was sharp and on point. I highly reccomend this place and its bakery the bread is always too morxh and the pastries are devine. Five stars.

My wife and I have been here several times since they opened last month, we continue to try new items with every visit and we’ve loved it all. Fantastic breads, bear claws, breakfast sandwiches(get’em on the poppy seed roll), and the chocolate danish. wow! The best. Just bought some of the sausage they make in house to take home and try with Sunday football. .if they only had German beer…

Went for the first time today and will be going back. The bakery items were all fresh and delicious looking. We bought breads, pastries and cake slices. Everything is as delicious as it looks. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is the place for authentic German baked goods. Give them a try, you’ll be glad you did!

This is the best bakery in New Braunfels. It is actually the only real bakery in New Braunfels. Unless you want a doughnut or a cake. It’s the only place to buy good bread. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breads are excellent with a good selection. Haven’t tried anything from the deli yet but will update when I do.

I went in to the deli during the first week of opening with my friend. We wanted to try something new. We purchased a couple of different items. We tried the fudge which was fine. The fudge was not bad but we didn’t feel that it was anything special. I can get fudge anywhere. The truffle, however had a very weird flavor to it. I couldn’t eat it. I had my friend try it as well and the same thing. It was almost like it had a meat flavor to it. It was very odd and unfortunately very disappointing. I think I will just stick to the chocolate store at the outlets going forward.
