Loved this place! Used to go there when I lived in NJ. Kept going even after I moved to NY. The smoothies were amazing… the avocado wrap was so delicious and the overall vibe was chill. Sad to hear they’re no longer there. I hope the owner opens up a new spot!

Awesome place best around, from what I heard the landlord kicked out this tenant so that his girlfriend would have a place of business too bad there’s so GMO and they can’t realize a good thing when they have it.

Really delicious Thai quinoa wrap! Falafel wrap my husband had was also really tasty. Special smoothie was banana, dates, almond milk and coconut flakes. Blender might need to be stronger as I had some chunks of dates but it still tasted delicious.

I was so excited to try this place. My boyfriend and I finally decided to make the trek to New Brunswick with some friends on a gorgeous day. When we entered the co op, I asked where we could find Namaste Juice Bar and she hesitated and said that they just closed. What?! It was only mid April and I saw Unilocal reviews from March… huh? Apparently we missed them by a couple of weeks. Unfortunately the website doesn’t say anything about this and the girl who worked the market wasn’t even sure if they officially closed or just relocated. I’m giving a neutral 3 star review because I’ve yet to experience Namaste but hope they pop up somewhere else in the area. The girl I spoke with also told me that the co op was planning to open their own juice bar in what used to be Namaste’s space above the market.

I’ve dropped by this café twice recently when it was supposedly ‘open’. The website said it was open both times and it wasn’t. When I walked into the store below the café, the employee said that she had left early. It was a waste of my time.

Love juice… beets, carrots, greens, and apples, I think. Just do it, tastes great and offers some wonderful nutrients. Came here in the midst of a juice fast… only place I could find in the area. Average prices for decent size portions($ 6 for 12−14oz. cup). Very granola atmosphere, and there is a deli downstairs that has some unique vegan offerings. I would come here if I needed a refreshing detoxifier after a long weekend out partying. Kind of hard to find as it’s part of a little deli with a tiny parking lot but worth a stop in if you’re from the area.

I love the Love Juice hahaha. This is a great little Juice Bar upstairs in the George Street Co-Op. Very nice people, vibe, and most importantly juice! Definitely worth a try, it’s delicious, healthy, and fun.

We were looking to meet a friend somewhere between NJ and Brooklyn, and wanted good vegetarian options. We came across this. When we got there we were ever so pleased. Drew and Britta were warm and welcoming. The menu’s unique and innovative names added to the appeal. Drew was upfront that the wraps were made ‘with love’ and that they wouldnt be rushed. We were looking to hang out but didnt want to impose. Drew was the most gracious host. The food was divine. Delicious. all of the right ingredients, made intricately and specifically. Each of us enjoyed our wraps and the atmosphere of the space. We left there raving about it. Notably, each of us were from different geographic regions,(Canada, Bermuda and Florida) and we all LOVED it. I highly recommend it

Delicious!!! Namaste serves delectable gourmet wraps and juices. We make it a point to stop by at least twice a week. I just wish they had some warm dishes, especially in the winter… brrr

After visiting Namaste for the first time today, I feel pretty terrible about the fact that I’ve worked in New Brunswick part-time since 2010 and have never before visited. The best way to make up for it? Tell everyone to go to Namaste and buy a juice or a vegan wrap because this business should be supported! Namaste is located on the second floor of the George Street Coop, which has its own parking lot — a plus in busy New Brunswick, where there’s very little parking. I was a little confused when I first reached the top of the staircase because the door to the café was closed and unmarked, but I soon found it. It’s basically a big cozy room with a lunch counter and the menu items written on chalk boards. I asked the owner to recommend a wrap, and he gave me about three options out of the 11 wraps listed on the board. He told me those were the popular ones, but he guaranteed that all of the wraps are delicious. Because the ingredients aren’t listed, I had to ask him about a few of the creatively named wraps, but he was happy to help. I settled on the Southwest Sunshine Burger Wrap($ 6.99): spicy veggie burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and Veganaise on a whole wheat wrap. While the owner was making a sandwich, I chatted with him. I found out that he’s been a vegan for a «quarter of a century.» That’s awesome! Also, he opened Namaste about five years ago, and he’s pretty much the only person running the show. He wrapped my sandwich with some chips in wax paper and bid me goodbye with some awesomely hippie phrase like, «Congratulations on honoring your body today.» I was going to wait until I got home to eat the sandwich, but it looked so good that I took a bite while sitting in my car in the parking lot. I ate half of it right there in my car and took bites of the rest of it while driving because I couldn’t put it down(I do not recommend eating while driving). The moral of the story is that I will definitely be coming back to try some of the other wraps and juices, and I hope you’ll decide to visit Namaste too. For non-vegans: don’t let the hippie-vibe turn you off. The food is delicious!

I searched on Google Maps for an organic juice bar last weekend and this is what came up and although it was out of our way my husband and myself were delighted that we made the effort to go to Namaste Café. The only thing to be aware of is that as far as I am aware the only way to access the café is up a flight of stairs, but for those of us able to climb stairs, superb juices, smoothies, vegan foods and even coffees await with excellent service with a genuine smile. We were even given generous samples of two salads that were both excellent to try out with our smoothie and juice respectively. I only wish that this café were closer to where I live, but is an excellent facility right in the heart of New Brusnswick for Rutger’s students and close to the library, etc. for families and friends of all ages to enjoy. Downstairs there is a Health Food Shop, but we didn’t have time to investigate that as we were very happy in the café until it closed, and we were not rushed out either. Simply excellent all around. All organic and vegan.(I’m not vegan, but if I were then I would probably practically live here if I resided in New Brunswick!)

Namaste Café is probably New Brunswick’s sole dedicated Vegan spot. It’s located on the upper level of the George Street Co-Op, a small market that sells vegan and vegetarian groceries. The café has a nice location, a few minutes from George Street and across the street from the New Brunswick Library on Livingston Avenue. Their menu is extensive, carrying vegan eats, smoothies, juices, and even coffee-ish drinks. The food and drink names are really confusing though. But though they don’t contain any descriptions, the barristas will explain the hidden meaning in their names. I definitely want to try some of their food next time! The café is small, but inviting. There’s free wifi, comfy couches and chairs and tables if you want to get some work done. I had the Lean, Green, Juice. Though it was green and good for you, it wasn’t my cup of tea. I prefer more of a smoothie. But I had trouble deciphering what was in what. My fiancé’s strawberry smoothie was refreshing. After you stop by the café, head down to the co-op and buy some vegan groceries. They’ve got a great location of goodies!

As the only Vegan juice bar in the area it is a must stop for Vegans in the area however the food here is good. My favorite smoothie is the peanut better bomb and my favorite sandwich is the falafel sandwich they have. Frankly, I love these too so much that I have yet to try some of the other great items on the menu. The café is a nice environment to get work done and they do offer wi-fi. Before coming be sure to check the store hours on the website as hours vary by day.

The comments about the owner cracks me up. Yes, he is a tad talkative but he isn’t creepy. At least I didn’t think so! I guess if you don’t like talking to strangers you shouldn’t come here. Haha, well anyway… Namaste is 100% vegan and makes a variety of wraps, hot beverages, & smoothies. It’s a simple little café above a health foods store which is pretty cool. The wraps are simple but without a doubt delicious and my favorite would be the Black Bean Wrap. I was so happy to find an all vegan café in New Brunswick and I’m sure other vegans would enjoy it as well.

As a vegan in a non vegan town, I really wanted to love this place. I didn’t eat anything but got a veggie juice, which was fine. The entire menu is in cute names, with nothing about what is actually in them. When I told them I was looking for something low calorie, he started rattling off what’s in some, but not others, and told me the mushroom wrap had mushrooms. thanks. i guess its a wrap around some mushrooms and that’s it. so i gave up and asked for a good juice. he said he knew the perfect one! and went on about its immunological benefits for a few minutes before I intervened and asked him what was actually in it. It tasted fine, nothing amazing, just your standard good fresh juice. The owner really is the only guy around, doesn’t actually seem to have any employees except his girlfriend helping out. He’s pretty set that the way he makes food is the only way. A local vegetarian place came into conversation and he said they were great but THEY used preservatives, and he’s better than that. Not really the right attitude for non vegans. he was trying to be friendly and such, but he was just kinda obnoxious. I really had to put my foot down to get my order, and then to pay for it. Definitely do not go if you are in a rush. Once I got my drink, they let me sit on the couch in peace, and it would have been nice but I just really don’t like that guy. I heard all the stories mentioned here and he really is a rambler. Anyway, the food is good and I had no problems there, just the owner could use some classes in being quiet and running a business.

I went here the other day with my boyfriend, and as we walked in he commented to me that the atmosphere immediately lifted his mood. All of the food here is vegan & organic. This was my first experience with ‘fake’ vegan meat — I had the Chi-can wrap, and it was surprisingly super delicious.(It even tasted like chicken!) My boyfriend enjoyed his wrap too, which had tree bark in it. We also had a raspberry smoothie which was great. The owner was very friendly and talkative, and when we originally thought we were short a dollar he was willing to let us get it next time. He is also very knowledgeable about all of the ingredients he uses and veganism in general. When we went there it was just him working, so it’s not a place to eat if you’re looking to get your food and run. We definitely plan to return here and try the other wraps and juices.

Pull up a stool or relax on the sofa and stay a while. Come prepared to chat with the soulful owner about food, music, life… Yes, the chatting slows down the food/juice/smoothies/coffee making process, but go with the flow. Smoothies are delish, organic raw veggie juices the real deal, and wraps are warm and melty on the griddle. Wraps are not exactly a low-fat affair given the sauces and dressings in them, but they are not huge portions and they’re delicious(this coming from a typically low-fat eater). 100% vegan and organic everything. We liked the magical mushroom, sunshine burger, and two to mango smoothie. Excellent almond milk cappuccino topped it off. Until my man finished the whole thing without giving me a last sip. Located on 2nd floor of a small but well stocked food coop on a one-way street. Super colorful building, you’ll definitely know it when you see it. Ample parking in lot for coop. Definitely check this place out, just don’t go if you’re super pressed for time, crazy about to gnaw your arm off hungry, or just generally an impatient bugger.

I stumbled across this place last Saturday when I was in New Brunswick. It must have been sycronicity since I needed something to eat and I love juice bars and health foods. And this place is particuarly good. It is right above the George Street Co-op, and apparently«symbiotic» with them. I was talking to the people there, who said it is a relativly new business. The person working I assume was the owner, who was a really chill guy. He and the other customers made me feel at home as soon as I came in, which was really nice since I was alone. I hade the psychedellic mushroom wrap(NOT magic mushrooms — sorry) which came highly reccomended and was grilled with a pesto sauce and tomatoes — absoultly delicious. As they also are also juice bar, I got a carrot-beet-lemon-ginger-apple organic concoction, also great. Really nice space too, painted with earth tones. Very warm and welcoming over all. Wonderful café.
