Worst hotel EVER! Booked two rooms for July 6th, 2013. Rooms were filthy. Comforter in one room had dried semen on it. Lots of human hair in and on the beds and in the bathroom shower. Tried to find another hotel so we could check out. No luck on a holiday weekend. They also charged the wrong credit card. Called the foreign manager and asked for a refund on at least one room. He refused to do anything at all. The front desk staff looked like they had just gotten back from partying and didnt fix anything. The manager wished me a good day afrer refusing to help me. DONT stay here!

Very nice hotel. Also, the locals here are very friendly. I was at a gas station up the street and asked randomly asked someone for directions –he took the time to help me out and asked a nearby delivery man for assistance, also. This is a very nice area.

This hotel definitely doesn’t deserve the one-star rating it currently has… I read the first review and feel like it was definitely a special case(a wedding) and not indicative of the everyday quality of this hotel and its service. I stayed here with family last week, and everything went off without a hitch — we checked in in two minutes and had nothing but courteous customer service the entire time. I’d highly recommend this place if you want to book a trip to New Buffalo in a pinch — we were able to snag our room with just a week’s lead time. It’s a five-minute drive to the lake, and a ten-minute drive to the Four Winds Casino. Sweet! The minor downsides: the pool and workout room are only open until 10 p.m., and the morning complimentary breakfast is really crowded with too few tables. I’d definitely recommend heading into town or to the nearby McDonalds for your pancakes n’ coffee instead.

I understand that this hotel is not in a large city and probably never has their occupancy above 50% on any given night. However, the weekend I stayed, there were 2 weddings staying here. When I arrived at the hotel around noon I realized I was a few hours early and hoped to get an early check-in so I could get ready for the wedding. I entered the hotel to be greeted by a nice big doorbell and a sign that said something along the lines of we’ll come to the desk if we are within earshot of the doorbell. Not a great start for me. Then after a few minutes of waiting after we pressed the doorbell we were met by the GM. Not very usual to have the GM at the desk but in a smaller property I could understand this. Well unfortunately the GM was no help what so ever. He simply said the Front Desk Agent was on lunch, check in is at 3 and we should come back later. I explained we were there for the wedding and was hoping to get in earlier but understood if nothing was ready until 3. But I wanted to preregister for the room and give them a number to call once it was ready like any normal hotel would do.(I have worked front desk for 3 different properties and that was the norm at all 3 of the hotels I worked for). My girlfriend and I went to lunch came back to find a huge line of people and the one front desk agent who must have returned from lunch. After waiting in line of course she tells us people have been waiting for their room and we will be added to that list and our room will come be cleaned in the order we arrived. I was not happy, I told her we were there an hour before but a lazy GM turned us away. She then proceeded to find a room for us but it was obvious that the desk has no rooms controller skills. She just blindly handed us keys that were pre-made without checking the status of the room. Well when we got to the room surprise surprise they had not even cleaned the room yet. The poor housekeeping lady was then greeted in the hallway by the front desk agent(which mean she left that huge line at the desk) and she just said sorry to the lady but we need all these rooms cleaned for 2 weddings. The housekeeper had no idea that there would be 2 large wedding that day. Have they never heard of a pre-shift meeting? That probably would have made her day a lot easier if she knew what she was up against. We waited 15 mins for them to clean our room. Beds are uncomfortable and rooms are as cookie cutter as can be, but that is expected of a generic hotel brand. Finally at check out, there was no doorbell or anyone at the desk. I stood there for roughly 10 to 15 mins before finally just leaving the hotel without being able to check out. Also we were supposed to have a wedding rate. A group rate that promises x amount of business for a cheaper rate. Well, there was a walk-in guest in front of me asking for room rates she quoted him the wedding rate as the walk-in rate. I didn’t mention anything at the time because I didn’t care that much but I hope they didn’t reassure the wedding planner that they would get a better rate.
