This business was a lifesaver for us during Hurricane Sandy! My in-laws’ home was affected by the storm, with no running water and no electricity. Additionally, it was my wedding weekend and I also packed up my apartment for my big move to Singapore. Long story short, I didn’t budget enough clothes to last a hurricane. Thanks to my thoughtful husband, he brought me here so I could finally get my clothes cleaned! I must admit, I had a bit of sticker shock when I found out that it was $ 3 for a single wash.(To give a little perspective, I’m used to paying $ 2 for a single wash in Brooklyn.) Then again… It’s New Canaan. A quarter will buy you 5 minutes for the dryer. Sticker shock aside, the workers there were very accommodating. We had an issue with one of the washers and they were quick to give us our money back. They also offered their electric plugs for us, in case we needed to charge our cell phones and iPads. The facility is very clean and most of the machines were working. They even had a 50 pound washing machine, which totally tickled my fancy(I’ve never seen one before!) Although they didn’t seem to sell detergent or dryer sheets, at least they offered a good selection of magazines to flip through while you wait. With good hours(they close at 10) I would definitely recommend this business.
