Camping in October is usually not for me, but I did it and had no regrets. Mini Mountain Campground(MMC) is just west of South Bend, IN(and across the road from the old Studebaker test track). The weather was gorgeous and worked in our favor for the pre Halloween festivities at MMC. Not only were there trick or treaters everywhere, but campers and RVs were decorated with all sorts of gore and creepiness. After the kids collected their treats, we enjoyed the haunted trails on site. Before going back to our campsite, we came across campers sharing shots of vodka(treats) with the adults strolling by. I will definitely go back to Mini Mountain campground. The owers make this place comfortable for their guests and really live up to the self-appointed title of «hosts». It’s a nice family-friendly campground. They don’t hound you about petty rules if you are respectful campers. I was thoroghly impressed when the owner called me on my cell phone the night of our arrival. We were on our way there and he wanted to warn us about a major accident nearby which caused the main road to the campsite to be closed down. He gave me detailed directions on how to take the detour and set me up with the code to get in the campground after hours. He explained that we could take care of the payment(for the site) the next day. We were there a couple nights and ended up paying for our site at checkout. I’ve never camped at a place that was so trusting, helpful and accommodating. The campers were all a great bunch of people as well.
