This hotel was meant to be a destination night spot, with a cabaret-style show bar and hotel. Unfortunately, the area can’t support that kind of night-life, so it’s basically all closed up except for the hotel. Being out of the town center, the place does not provide a reassuring feel. We got a room kind of late in the process, since we were travelling and were pinched for a place to stay the night. While we did get a room, the entire experience as not inspiring. The check-in area was not air-conditioned and extremely poorly lit. Check-in process was awkward, but we finally got our room. The lobby could best be described as ‘depressing.‘ The room was dingy and badly in need of a refresh. Tube-TV, room décor was barely adequate and rough around the edges. Bed was comfortable enough. I didn’t tell my wife about the handful of centipede-type bugs that I squashed into the carpet. Bathroom was OK. The place was nearly sold out, probably because there weren’t a lot of other options in the area. Nevertheless, if we’re back in the vicinity, we’ll be looking elsewhere.
