Excellent. Totes hole in the wall with authentic food. Cash only. They make the food in a food truck. Cute seating in the back. Great friendly service.

Great place to get your taco fix! Convenient to i-95 if you’re passing through Delaware. Excellent salsas that give these $ 2 tacos a nice spice.

I tried their bean and chicken taco, it is really awesome, everyone should try… Their rice beans are too good.

Delicious, inexpensive, delicious. Service was a little slow, but if we had been in a rush I’m pretty sure we could have solved that problem by getting takeout from the taco truck up front. Watch out, the pepper/onion mix on the table is spicy!

After driving by this taco stand for years and hearing great things about it from friends, I finally decided to give Rivera Taco Express a try. I’m sure glad I did, because this place is definitely a hidden gem in Delaware! The prices are very reasonable and the walk-up service is very quick and friendly. I ordered the chicken and steak tacos which were filled generously and topped with onions and cilantro. Inside the box were lime slices, a roasted pepper, radish slices, and a roasted onion. The tacos were absolutely delicious! I will definitely stop by Rivera again, it certainly lives up to the hype!

This is the place for some good authentic Mexican tacos! The Pastor was really delicious with the pineapples. The Chorizo and Steak were also tasty. They also have an awesome coconut horchata. I love these small local shops!

Yum! Stopped here for a quick dinner while driving up to Jersey. We weren’t sure whether to order at the truck or go inside. We were told inside and figured out that you just choose your own table. Eventually she came back in to attend to everyone. I think she was the only one working the place. We eventually ordered. I had the steak and chorizo taco and a steak taco. My boyfriend ordered the chorizo quesadilla. It took a little longer than expected to come out, but she must have recognized it too because she apologized for the wait. There are sauces on the table and YUM everything was good. I realized I needed one more to satisfy my hunger and ordered a chicken taco. It was the best one yet. There are no chips on the table so don’t expect to fill up on those, but if you like it hot, there’s also onions and habenero on the table. CHEAP, GOOD. I’d totally come back.

Okay, lets start in California… I’m from the east coast, but when I decided to move out west I had my first taste of ‘authentic’ mexican food. It was from a food truck near a truck stop in Castaic, CA. I ordered a beef burrito and found myself living off them for months to come. I couldn’t understand it. I had never really been a fan of Mexican food. I used to literally ‘watch’ my friends eat at the restaurants, while I gorged myself on the chips and salsa that accompanied their meal. This stuff was diff… period. Everything was«SUPER» fresh and I always had fresh cilantro and lime to accompany my meal…(wasn’t used to that) Plus, they didnt cover every d@mn thing in cheese! In America, cheese is like ‘soy sauce in Asia’… This place is the best I’ve tasted since I’ve been back in this area! When I walked up to the vendor window and saw the price of the Burrito($ 8) — I was pissed that I took my keys out the ignition of my car! Wanted to ask for directions(to save face…) and leave! But! I’ve passed this place waay too much last year and was surprised it was still there, smh?! I had to try and was rewarded for my curiousity! It was like Cali! They will make it «Mexican» style so if you want a Burrito with everything on the ‘inside’…you’ll have to ask for it specifically. Its pricey for a buritto, but its 1⁄3 larger than chipotle and Moe’s. I can’t wait to try the taco’s!

I lived in this area going on 5 years and just tried this place. I ordered chicken burrito. It was huge nice size for the price. Taste… don’t get me started it was amazing! I will definitely go back and I suggest everyone stop here if your looking for authentic Mexican! I have my fair share and this is the best for Mexican food. It’s so flavorful! It’s definitely the real deal!

Very yummy, I recommend the chorizo quesadilla although it is pretty expensive for a quesadilla but it is huge and tasty

Love this place and love the flavor! Had the Alambres and there was enough food for two meals! The flavor was spot on and the hot sauce opened my sinuses so I could smell the fantastic aroma from my plate!!! A friend had the Gringas and he said it was delicious with pineapple mixed into the meat. Going back tomorrow to pick up a few meals for the guys at work… this might be my regular Thursday stop!!!

Amazing tacos, best in New Castle County for sure. Great price and great selection of meats. This place is a faceless white trailer but don’t pass it up so worth it and friendly staff too! Tacos are served traditional style with onions and cilantro on corn tortillas with all the fixings included.

Best stop for tacos I’ve found in DE, and I’m always on the lookout for new taquerias, so that says a lot. Their Al Pastor is so flavorful, and they are the only place I’ve seen put fresh diced pineapple on top. Their lengua is tender, has a super beefy taste, and looks more like stewed beef than the grey meat cubes some other places serve. If you’re really hungry, their Torta Cubana is fantastic, too. Some other things that Rivera Taco Express from the rest: the fried mexican green onion that comes with every order of tacos(most places skip this) and the fact that they bring your order to your car if you ordered to go. This place is probably also the only taqueria with indoor and outdoor seating.

Dive restaurant spelunking 101: If more than 90% of the patrons of the dive in question are of the nationality of said cuisine. EATTHERE! Rivera Taco is no joke. Having spent much time in Mexico, it was splendid to find anti-La Tolteca quality tacos! They are served appropriately, with some onions, cilantro, and limes. An occasional radish surprise is to be had. The Tortas are wonderful: Excellent rolls, and super quality meats and avovados make the sandwich. The Alambres is a cheezy, gooey, bacon-y calorie busting delight. If you’ve never tried tongue, this is the place to get it. Once you get over the«tongue» thing(hint, imagine it’s pot roast).it will quickly become a favorite. Another favorite is anything«Al Pastor» which is pork and pineapple. Make sure to order extra grilled onions… they are addictive! Update: i’m taking this down a notch to 4 stars. Not really because it’s changed a whole lot. however, since finding other taco dives, I’ve found I haven’t really been back as often… because there is better. Mind you, we’re talking GREAT here, just not hand pressed tortilla EPIC. Although…those damn grilled onions are now beckoning…

I have now eaten at this place several times and the tacos remain high quality and flavorful. No regression to the mean or drop off in taste. I have noted that when I have stopped by there have been several different crews on working the kitchen. Despite that the food has remained consistent, flavorful, and service fast.

I grew up right across the highway from here. You can even type the address into Google Maps and get a peak at my parent’s backyard. It’s a shame this place wasn’t here while I actually had a 302 area code. My adoration for tacos has been a long standing one and I can only imagine how much more brighter my turmoil/angst filled teenage years would have been if I had had this fine taco truck right across the street. *Sigh* At least I had Wawa’s . This spot use to be some type of hardware/auto shop for as long as I can remember. Google Maps still shows an image of what use to be there. But sometime in 2009 a taco truck parked itself in front of the«house», which was turned into a Mexican restaurant, along with a sign of Bart Simpson dreaming of a taco announcing«Rivera Taco Express». The moment I caught glimpse of this I did a quick u-turn and pulled up to try an Al Pastor taco. I had no high expectations of a eating a taco in the land of suburbia that’s known for strip malls and tax-free shopping. But this was a simple delight. Like it was REALLY, REALLY good. And really really cheap. And really really fresh. Oh my! I haven’t ventured to try anything else, because that al pastor taco was love at first sight. And I’m just an al pastor feign who refuses to break their habit. Someone else can hit it with a review on the other selections. I’m sticking with my al pastor: D
