Do t go! What is on here is nothing what they have. All they have are burritos. If you like cold burritos then there still just ok. It sticks in there real bad! I won’t be back!

Ate her for the 1st time today, the service was great even though I got it to go. They where very speedy to get my order out we will be ordering from here again. If you like Chipotle you will love this place!!! There bowls fresh and nicely presented.

The Commonwealth is a welcome breath of fresh air to the New Castle, PA dining scene.
The atmosphere is hip/​cool; the menu is great, and the food is incredible. Except for their fish tacos, which I shouldn’t have ordered after living in Southern California for 45 years. But, if you’ve never had real Mexican food, they might be great. :)
I love the way they use veggies here. Brussel sprouts are amazing… as in their deep fried Brussel sprouts with their (yes…) homemade bacon. I might be addicted to that. Yummy. And their potato fries are a delicacy. The chef is able to cook meat spot-on…I ordered a medium steak and was served something I’ve never gotten at a restaurant before: A real medium steak. It sounds so simple, but seems to be a challenge for many chefs.
The service has improved considerably since the new owners took over, and I was happy to see the place thriving at an early hour on a Saturday evening dinner service.

Food is good but the service is the worst. Both time my drink was severed it was dripping all over my legs. Use a tray and a beverage napkin. Really

Very nice place. Had our lunch outside on the spacious patio. Burgers with fries and a flatbread were all good choices. Very reasonably priced and attentive service. Highly recommend!

Went for lunch… we all had the mother clucker sandwich. It was excellent! Probably one of the best sandwiches I have had in awhile! However, I am only giving it a four because of our service. The waitress switched one of our drinks by accident (not a big deal) but when my friend tasted it and said, «I think I got the wrong drink,» the waitress said, «oh, I’m sorry.» She took the straw out, slid it across the table and put a new straw in it for someone else at our table to drink… its a coke for crying out loud… don’t re-​serve it after someone drinks from the cup!!! Then, at the end of the meal, we needed boxes for leftovers… we asked three times and never got them… there were 5 of us at our table and two other people at another table… not like the place was busy!!! I would encourage people to give this place a try. Downtown New Castle needs places like this. The food was great. I hope the service can just be chalked up to a bad day.

I had two wonderful meals here while visiting family. At 73 I have a hard time remembering what folks ordered but I do remember that there were raves all around. First night with a party of three and the next a party of six. Yums all around. I had scallops both nights, cooked different ways each time and both were out standing. The owner and chef visited us both times to make sure all was well. I am so happy to know this is here for my annual family visits!

Creative menu and quality drink program with an emphases on craft beers. Fantastic choice for anyone wanting to eat al fresco as the outdoor seating overlooks the river and is shaded and quite pleasant. I have eaten here multiple times and enjoyed everything. The chef/​owner is extremely committed to locally-​sourced ingredients and farm-​to-​table cooking. Everything is fresh and the preparation is thoughtful with bold flavors and expert technique not often displayed in a small town like New Castle. The Fried Brussels and the Quinoa Falafel are excellent small plates and worth a try as are the Honey jalapeño wings that are smoked and fried — and totally unique. The dinner menu changes regularly due to the availability of fresh items, but I have yet to have a protein that wasn’t done perfectly.
The prices are well below what you would find at any gastropubs in larger markets, and frankly you’ll pay more to eat at one of those dreadful, homogenized chain restaurants than you will at this great local establishment.
This is a business to support. Eat here people of New Castle!!!

No other place like this in this small town. Food has the taste of a big city upscale joint. Menu has a nice variety but not too cluttered. The Caesar salad has two different types of dressings and both are absolutely delicious although I enjoy the traditional a bit better. Had the half roasted chicken served over whipped potatoes and fresh vegetables it was as good as I have ever had. My wife had the special which was a bleu cheese burger and it was really juicy and she loved it.
This place is a must go with a good atmosphere and a friendly wait staff. You will not be disappointed.
