Great find for the Midwest to Maine drive. A pet-friendly hotel that doesn’t charge extra for pets. The room rate was very good, the front desk clerk was friendly, helpful and had great hair! Our room looked recently renovated, was clean, smelled good, and appointed with everything you’d expect including fridge and microwave. Didn’t really partake of the breakfast but it looked like your standard hotel breakfast buffet. Included in the room rate, of course. Nice, especially compared to some of the depressing places we’ve tried in the general area on previous trips. We’ll be back.

I love this hotel. It is mid way between my home in Virginia and my parent’s home in Southern Ontario, so I stay there on my way back and forth several times per year. They are extremely pet friendly, and very generous with their affection to the dog. The place is spotless. The breakfast offerings changed after they became Quality Inn(formerly they were Comfort Inn), but the food is fresh and well presented. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I don’t think you could beat this for the price. We paid just under $ 100 for our stay, which was better than anywhere but Super 8 on this Friday night, and the Holiday Inn Express next door was nearly twice as much. Rooms appeared relatively newly remodeled and clean. Bed was comfy with lota of pillows. We did not use the pool but the area looked very nice. Breakfast was good. The property is pet friendly and there was lots of space to walk our beagle. The property is right off I-80 but you wouldn’t know it from driving by… it is tucked back. Great stopover on our road trip from IN — VT.

This hotel was clean & comfortable — not new or anything special. The rooms were pretty decent sized, no funky odors. The bed was comfortable. There was a continental breakfast(I didn’t have time for). Has a nice late check out time of 12. The staff were friendly in the morning, the phone call to the front desk to make reservations the night previous could have been more friendly. I found it to be a little pricey for what it was and where it was, but I guess the convenience to Bucknell has something to do with it. I would say its fine to stay here, but I would try to talk the price down.

Sadly, this is one of those situations in which the establishment could have been a five-star except for one very significant problem. The gentleman at the front desk was efficient and friendly, and, for the price, the rooms and breakfast were superior to comparable hotels. HOWEVER, we were coming from a local wedding and had anticipated unwinding afterward in the lounge which they advertised. And to be clear, we’re not talking about a gang of rowdy 20-somethings — this was a group of eight total people, including two over the age of 70 with the youngest being 37! Hardly a raucous group. Well, the bartender could not have been more disinterested. It was quite clear that our quiet group of eight was messing up his cozy gig and that he was far more interested in his two female friends at the bar. Ordering drinks was an effort and, then, as soon as his female friends left, he cut the music(they had paid for) and proclaimed that the bar was closing at 10:00 and that everyone had to leave. It created a very dour mood, as if we had done something wrong, and made for a sour ending to an otherwise great day. Only later did we realize that the lounge is advertised as being open until 12:00 so his 10:00 closing time was totally fabricated. In the end: If you are looking for simply a place to crash and nothing more, this is a fine establishment. However, given our experience, I would not consider any of the amenities such as the lounge or the pool when making your plans since you just don’t know what you’re going to get…

Stayed 1 night. It was clean enough for me, but my germ-a-phobe wife did find issues. Continental Breakfast was good. For the money, wasn’t a bad place to crash for the night.

Vital statistic: 8 – 10 miles from Bucknell University; if you see two Comfort Inns listed for New Columbia with different address [one address at Commerce Park, the other at I-80& Rte 15, they are one and the same. The hotel is pretty clean, although ‘moi’(germ-freak) did find dust on top of the t.v. armoire. Staff is friendly as majority of other reviews on other sites mentioned. When we booked, availability was limited and we got stuck with a more expensive King /Non-smoking. Turned out this particular room had a jacuzzi tub with double shower head. It always feels great to pay for something you don’t need or want… just being sarcastic. The worse thing was that whoever designed this bathroom used extremely poor lighting. So bad you’d come out looking like a clown after trying to put makeup on, or nicking yourself while shaving. I asked the front desk for replacement bulbs which they didn’t seem too happy with but obliged me. That was useless ’cause the bulbs on the bathroom sconces were the type that had tiny little bases — like the ones they use for Xmas tree decorations. Finally had to move the red/heat lamp on the timer and replaced it with a 100watt bulb. Okay… TMI. I’ve given this place 4 stars not because it’s a four star property like some fancy hotel; but because it was clean enough not to give me the skeeves(sp? aka willies/heebie-jeebies); perfect for overnighting while on the road. Complimentary breakfast was more than adequate.
