Atmosphere was amazing. Music playing when we arrived, had never been to the restaurant before. Would definitely return!

Excellent food, great prices and great beer selection! Cool vibe and they also have board games to borrow! Tried the«As I Lay Pie-ing» and it was definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time:)

We were staying at a nearby hotel and our kids wanted to swim so we got take out. My hubby got the pulled pork calzone. I ordered the cubano panini and the chicken salad. We loved it all and had leftovers for lunch the next day. I wish we lived close enough for regular take out.

I really wanted to like this place. The idea behind it is fabulous. The atmosphere is great. However, I left feeling disappointed. The pizza was okay. It wasn’t great. It wasn’t spectacular. It wasn’t even, «I can’t wait to eat the leftovers» caliber. We tried three different pizzas. Don’t even bother with the Poet’s Pie. The bacon was less meat and more fat cubes. I travel for work and go to about fifty locations a year, so I eat out a lot. I’ve had my share of gourmet pizza and I had high expectations. They weren’t met, but perhaps it is because I travel so much. If you want a great selection of beer. This is your place. In fact, if I return, it will be for the drinks and socialization. I’ll skip the food.

Fun and laid back atmosphere. Hand tossed craft pizzas came out hot and were delicious! I had the Catcher in the Pie. Crust and homemade sauce were phenomenal! Large selection of craft beers. Fun place for date night or hangout with friends!

Love the options here! They make great pizzas and the staff is very knowledgeable about the beers they have and how they would pair with your food.

Pretzels were good, we also ordered a Panini and Calzone they were good too… this is a good place to take toddler because they can run around and it’s very casual atmosphere

I love the idea behind this place. Great artisan pizza, wide selection of beer, great atmosphere however the kitchen tends to struggle with consistency and execution. I have eaten in the restaurant with groups multiple times and each time there has been something off. Incomplete orders, long wait times even if it is half full. The other week I ordered 4 pizzas for takeout and was told 25 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes after I placed the call and ended up waiting and additional 25 minutes waiting for my order. When I arrived home I found their metal pizza screens left under my pizzas. They have good apps and great tasting pizza which makes this a spot with great potential if they can dial in the details.

I like the laid back atmosphere of this place. It causal and easy, but fun and a little upscale without being fussy like some of the new wine bar/pizzeria places that have come to Harrisburg. Prices are a bit more reasonable too. The pizza is good, with interesting toppings and a choice of two crusts. Obviously the beer selection is huge. I had great service here despite it being absolutely packed for a fundraiser when I went.

The atmosphere is great. The beer selection is good. The pizza I thought was just ok. We also got the pizza fries and they were fine. I thought it was expensive for pizza and beer. The staff was all nice. They don’t offer military discount.

Yes this is in the Clarion Hotel. Yes it is hidden in the back — and yes it has a great industrial vibe. And finally yes– it offers great pizza, paninis and salads as well bar snacks. Beer on tap is limited but plenty of bottles to choose from. Food is excellent — elevated flavors to match the craft beers. I want to keep this place a secret but I want them to stick around so…

During my last visit, I was really surprised by the lack of consistency in food quality. We did arrive just before the kitchen closed, but that should be no reason to slack on standards. The pizza tasted stale and it even looked quite different than normal(seemed like they did not have sufficient dough for a normal pie so they stretched it thin). I asked the waiter if perhaps I ordered a different crust by mistake, and he replied than sometimes they just stretch is out more than normal. I should him the picture I took of the pizza here before to see the comparison and he didn’t really have much to say. I have been here a number of times and this is the first time I received food that was below what I(and I assume Grain + Verse) deem as their standard, which is upsetting giving that a normal size pizza here is very pricey. If I do not get the standard quality next time, I am not risking paying for such an expensive pizza when I am not sure what I am getting beforehand. Please fix this guys.

We loved Grain and Verse. The atmosphere is great. You walk in on the side or through Garlic Poet to a large room filled with different games, large trendy fridge with beer/alc, and counter to order your food. I ordered the calzone di pollo which was delicious. The ingredients tasted so fresh. It came with sautéed vegetables. Our group also ordered spiced popcorn, truffled pizza fries, local vegetable salad, and a chicken panini. The flavors and quality of the food were beyond expectations and hit the spot. Not only did they have a variety of beer, they had plenty of cider choices. You then have your choice of your table/game entertainment until your food arrives. I’m excited to try the pizza on my next visit — it looked amazing!

This was my second visit and the first with the new menu. I figure I can still come here for another 298 visits and try every bottled beer they have at least once. However today’s selection was the Bube’s Brewery Orange Cream Ale from the firkin. Chris was more than accommodating with his explanation of the beer and the firkin. My guest and I both chose it because of him and totally enjoyed it. I have to say I was a little disappointed with my food selection of the Blue Boli. Can’t complain about the fillings of shaved ribeye, shallots and cheese, but it was burnt and took away from the flavors inside the boli. My guest had the Mad Hopper pizza with a hand tossed crust and loved it. We were disappointed to see that there were only 6 people in the house for lunch. I think part of the problem is that they’re only open for lunch on Fridays and the weekends. Will definitely be back and have recommended it to other people just hope my boli is not burnt the next time.

Cool place, great selection of beers to choose from. The pizzas are fantastic with a great crust and a slew of ingredients to choose from. My wife and I both had Build-your-own pizzas so I can’t speak to the sandwiches, apps, or Bolis. I’m sure they are great. My only knock, and it is a very small one, is that I’m not a huge fan of the cafeteria style. It’s a bit confusing on where you should be, what you should do, etc. We will be back so hopefully this uneasiness will dissipate with each subsequent visit. At the end, because there wasn’t much«service», you’re a little confused on how much tip should be given. Anyhow, great pizza, great beer selection, very clean atmosphere, and good music playing. We will return and honestly, it won’t take much for me to change my review to a 5 Star.

This place does two of my favorite things, beer and pizza pretty darn well. I’ve been here twice since it opened and both experiences were incredibly positive. The atmosphere is open and spacious while still maintaining warmth. Adding to the environment is decent and varied music playing in the background. The author themed mural is great. Food is pretty top notch from what I’ve had. Tried both the round and crispy crust pizzas. Both crusts are done well for their style. I’d pick the crispy if I were to choose a favorite. The sauce is really a highlight! Incredibly fresh, natural ingredients that are seasoned more with herbs than salt. It has a nice touch of garlic, oregano and basil. The meats are superior too. Locally sourced, they stand out. I’ve had the pepperoni, cascade hop sausage(killer) and the capicola. Each had a great elements to bring to the pie. The cheese is great as well. Both are top shelf and distinct. As far as service, it is very friendly and accommodating. They seem willing to help anyone who may be looking for a specific beer, or might be unsure of what to try if they are new to craft brews. The GM was nice enough to talk beer nerd with me while I picked out a mix six and even suggested something that I ended up loving. The selection of beers is great. 200 bottled variety with 3 rotating taps of local/regional brews. One tapped beer is always a firkin, which is incredibly cool! I noticed the prices have dropped to very reasonable since my first visit. Also, they seemed to have brought in some great, harder to find stuff like Mikkeller and have old standbys like Yuengling and Pabst if you’re into those. I’m really glad this place has opened. It’s a welcomed addition to the area. It has style, but is not pretentious. The best part of it? Both visits, I’ve witnessed people of all ages, wee children to grandparents, enjoy themselves.

Reviewing this on day 4 since they opened. Great crispy pizza featuring caputo brothers cheese and fresh ingredients. As you enter the restaurant you pick your beer then proceed to the counter to order food which they deliver to the table. Music plays in the background and it has a very casual hip vibe. Based on all the electrical outlets lined up along the wall I suspect they envision this being a hangout for students and telecommuters. If they had coffee that would seal the deal for hanging out. A happy addition to the neighborhood.
