Check in was awesome. The lady that took care of us was very nice and caring. Upon entering the hotel room it was very clean. Nice wood floors clean bathrooms. However, the a/c had dead bugs in the unit. To bad because it is a cold night and we want to use the heater but will not turn it on because of the roach.

The room was worth the $ 65. $ 45 weekdays, was pretty clean and definitely worth the money. I am not pleased opening this page and finding a picture of a cock-roach featured at the top of the page from a purported photo from a first time reviewer on 9÷20÷14 who listed Harrrisburg as being there home town after stating they checked in after a «long drive». Strange, they are from Harrisburg, staying in a motel six miles away. Reviewer states he «sits on the bed and notices«cock-roaches» but photographs one not on the bed but on the floor. At well past midnight reviewer states«employees, guests, and kids» partying in the parking lot. Thus, he/she unable to sleep. Curious how this reviewer knew the partyers were employees Motel Six?. Were they wearing Motel Six uniforms? Reviewer saw cock-roaches and preceeded, he and his kids, to sleep in the bed. This review is littered with inconsistencies. If I were the owner/manager of Motel Six I would sue this reviewer so fast his head would spin.

It was late at night as I traveled along the turnpike, and I have been driving for 7+ hours. There was a car show nearby that was taking up all the good hotel rooms. So I traveled from place to place looking for a vacancy when I finally found Motel 6 had one room. Now the room was clean enough for a guy. But it was definitely aging and could be nicer. I paid $ 99. But it should’ve been a $ 49 room

What do you want for $ 50? It was relatively quiet. The rooms had been redone sometime in the past year, although were already showing some age. The location was right off the highway. I’ve paid more to stay in worse. Not the ritz, but decent for a cut rate motel.

I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone. The blankets had holes in them, stains all over the walls, bees and spiders around the room, no shampoo… We checked in, put our bags in our room then left to get some food(and shampoo, ha) When we arrived back, our key no longer worked. After waiting at midnight for 30 minutes, the guy at the desk told us our room has been changed and asked why it had been changed. We had not been informed of this room change… then he says«Oh, well that must be why those people came back and said there were bags already in that room»

I can honestly say, that judging by previous stays with the Motel 6 franchise, I expect a peaceful, stain free night’s rest for my thirty bucks damnit. I could care less about a storage unit or whether or not someone is actually going to come in and pick up a Dorito I left on the carpet during a midnight munchathon(then again, when I drop something I pick it up?). That said, I don’t particularly care for this location. Back and forth between trips for family visits, occasionally my train would pull in a smitten too late. Tired and annoyed from sitting on my ass for eleven and a half hours, I’d wind up heading straight to the cheapest, nearest motel. Everything was always a little funky. During the good 4 – 6 times I’ve bunked a room, the blankets would smell like feet, the shower stalls dingy and the rugs stained. Twice the toilets overflowed forcing me to make a dash to the front desk. And, girl, when I say overflowed, I mean beyond pitiful towels overflowed. When requesting for a visit from a custodian, I was told it could be a fifteen minute wait. Um. My bathroom was a public urinal: the last thing I want is to spend fifteen minutes anywhere in the general vicinity of it. Eventually it was fixed of course but it was a fairly aggravating experience. Then there was still that weird smell. Like cigarette smoke, corn chip feet and diapers tossed in a fresh medley of nastiness. Not something I’m used to nor would like to be used to. No bugs or rodents luckily. Overall it was a «whatever» experience. I’d personally attempt to avoid it if possible: however, when necessary or on a budget, it’s not as bad as it could be.

What can one expect for a $ 30 hotel room? I didn’t expect much, and this hotel didn’t meet those expectations. I stayed here for 4 nights in early March, 2009. This hotel has some maintenance and housekeeping issues. The public areas were pretty dirty. The elevator wasn’t cleaned during my stay, as I noticed the same leaves and candy on the floor on Thursday were still there on Monday. There was trash in the public areas. Most was cleaned by the end of my stay, although it was there for at least 2 or 3 days. There was mold around the caulking of my shower.(The way to combat that is to clean it with bleach on it once or twice a month.) The carpet had some ugly stains. I dropped a few snacks on the floor and the ones that were a few inches from the walls and furniture were still there the next day. It was difficult to turn off the shower — I had to physically hit the faucet to push it in far enough. It was also difficult to set the shower temperature because of the faucet. It was a single faucet set-up, so when the temperature gauge was at «12 noon» it was too hot. A tiny turn to the right made it too cold and a tiny turn to the left made it dangerously scalding. I also had to pass a room that was being used as a maintenance shed. This room had the curtains open, or had no curtains, and it was an absolute eyesore. As I was checking in, I asked about Internet access, which is $ 2.99 + tax for a 24-hour period. I don’t have a problem with that, since this is a bare bones hotel. But they told me only ¼ of the hotel was wired and I would have to wait for a room with internet access to be cleaned. So consider this if you stay here. The front desk staff ranged from extremely friendly and helpful(day) to unfriendly and rude at night. I think I bothered the night auditor who doubled as a front desk clerk by asking for plastic cups because there were none in my room. I also noticed a hand drawn sign in the check in area that said«no vacancy» on Saturday night(March 7) even though the sign that was visible from the highway did not, and the parking lot seemed less full than the night before, when there was vacancy. Another reviewer on another site mentioned the beds were short. They are. If you are over 6′ tall, you may have to sleep diagonally or accept the fact that your feet will hang over the edge. I have also stayed at the Travelodge near here, albeit a few years ago, and it was even worse than this hotel. If I’m budget conscious I may stay here again but may shop around the area if I have that luxury. There are lots of budget hotels in this area.
