Ever-changing, ever-improving — this is New York. Lately, all waterfronts were getting facelifts, or whole new life — and Staten Island is no exception. Welcome to Cedar Grove — newest of NYC beaches. Where once old bungalows stood, now is a clean and beautiful neighborhood beach. There is a medium-sized parking lot available, lots of parking on the streets nearby, along sides of rest of bungalow houses still making up this area. It’s relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. Local, very, very local. Nice clean walkway was build leading to the beach, so you don’t burn your feet on hot sand. Restrooms and wash-off areas available. Lifeguards on duty till 6pm(this is when it closes). Sand is clean, and it’s not that crowded. It’s located between remains of two piers, so it’s cool to watch waves break and birds fishing. You can see West Bank lighthouse — way, way offshore. Summer is almost over — but there are still a few sunny days left to enjoy this beautiful beach! With weather we been having lately, it great place to spend time on weekends!
