McDonald’s

Why am I reviewing a McDonald’s in the middle of Missouri? This is why:
My wife and I walked in here to grab a quick lunch (don’t judge please, we had a 16 ft long truck that was a pain in the ass to park). As soon as we walked in, the first words out of my mouth were «Oh fuck.» No, it wasn’t because I smelled McDonald’s and remembered why I never go there for non-​breakfast items. No, it was because there was a super long line of teenage kids. All the seats were occupied too with teens and a few parents (I’m guessing chaperones). In other words, I felt like I had just walked into hell.
Amazingly I only waited 2 – 3 minutes before I gave them my order. I then only had to wait a few minutes before getting my food. The McDonald’s next to my old office in DC would have given me my food the following day if it faced such an onslaught of people.
So 5 stars to this McDonald’s for being super, super efficient and being able to handle a huge crowd of people.

I normally wouldn’t take the time to review a McDonald’s, but this place was exceptionally clean and the staff was very friendly, even coming to my table to give me my food. Unfortunately there aren’t that many restaurant options off this stop, so I appreciate them going above and beyond despite the lack of competition.

Flies everywhere, whole place smelled like sewer. Bathrooms were nasty. Tables were sticky and dirty meanwhile employees and managers sat and ate meals in the dining room and sat outside on the curb smoking and not one bothered to clean anything. Unlike any McD’s I’ve ever been to.

The bathrooms are neglected, the overall restaurant is dirty. The arrangement looks nice, the staffing is friendly, however the cleanliness is lacking. I ordered 2 sausage egg cheese mcgriddles. They were fresh except for the old dry meat patties.

I get what you would expect from a McDonalds: fast service, low prices, polite staff, average food. I pass through New Florence regularly, and each time I’ve come here I’ve gotten what I expected. I don’t ask for more.

Fantastic friendly sevice! The Manager was one of the most engaged managdrs i’ve witnessed and his crew was obviously well trined in custome service.

Why is it so hard to order bacon cheese biscuits? Anyone out there work at mcds? 2 bacon cheese biscuits and a large drink for $ 8.65??? No thank you. Getting a refund from mcds because the guy charged the card before answering my question… next to impossible. Then at the other window the stuttering, 17 year old decides to give it to me for about $ 1.20 each. Ok that’s cool. Still can’t decide how to give the refund. Then had to give it back in cash 12 minutes later. They must not do many refunds or bacon cheese biscuits.

On the stretch of I-​70 between the St. Louis area and Columbia, there aren’t too many options for fast food, making the New Florence McDonald’s a winner-​by-​default. Besides the exit signs, look for a large purple water tower with the town’s name as a landmark.
This McDonald’s has the prime characteristics of a highway-​traffic eatery:
1) Located only a minute or two off of the highway. It’s very, very convenient;
2) Near gas stations (a BP and a Shell);
3) Familiar food;
4) Near a hotel/​motel if you are just passing through Missouri.
Aside from a pie mix-​up once, I’ve never had an issue with this location. Worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for a stop early in the morning or later in the evening.
If McDonald’s really isn’t your preference and you’re headed eastbound, Warrenton, MO offers some additional options (Wendy’s, Burger King, pizza, an Applebee’s, etc) about 20 minutes past New Florence. If you’re headed west, Columbia’s about 45 minutes down the road with several options along Clark at exit 128 or the Columbia Mall a few miles west of that.

Yeah! They were open after 11 pm. Decent service along the lonely-​late-​night freeway.

Drive-​through service and pick-​up window service were unfriendly and impersonal. I got what I wanted and left.
I would have argued about the price of my order (because I thought it was incorrect), but I wasn’t about to spar with these two grumpy women!

The service here was not very friendly. Although the woman at the counter was very talkative and friendly with the couple in front of me, I suppose I must have reminded her of someone she disliked, because her friendliness ended as I approached.
Luckily I only needed a couple of things, but I wasn’t very impressed with anything from this location. Below average at best.
