New Harmony Coffee House

Can I give no stars? Tried to go in early on a Saturday afternoon (in a town where tourist dollar is king) and was rudely informed that they were closing and that I could go next door. Rudeness of staff far surpasses any amount of charming décor. my money is better spent elsewhere.

I went to New Harmony for the history, and found a great coffee shop, every bit as good as the big city with country hospitality. Talk to the counter staff a bit and they will all introduce themselves and shake your hand. Locals wander in and out and gladly offer advice on what to see and do; they’ll want to shake your hand too.
Large room with picture windows looking onto the main street and a small raised display area with posed musical instruments.. Bookshelves against the wall with 2 or 3 hundred books stacked every which way. Lots of tables. Display near the register, of native son who holds Guiness book record for continuous drum roll (over 5 hours) and the drum he used.
Nice smooth espresso and the barista added espresso until I had just the taste I wanted. Chicken salad sandwich was tasty and no celery in the mix! They also had soup and pastries.
