The food«at best» is OK. Everything taste like smoke. A good BBQ should not just be smoke. I have had much better…

The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful, the smoked turkey was moist and delicious. Mac and cheese, collards, and baked beans all great. Cocktail was good. Waitress was attentive and accommodating. Brisket a little dry and girl at check-out texting on phone while we waited to pay for purchase was a bit annoying, but I will definitely be back anyway. Left stuffed and happy!

Gave this place another chance. Nothing changed. Service and food subpar. Had the buffet. Store bought biscuits, frozen vegetables, greasy sausage, dry bbq chicken, way over spiced pulled pork. All presented in a most unappetizing way. Hand to hunt down the waitress numerous times, had to notify staff they were out of plates at buffet. Never again !

Can not believe she still works here! Sitting with an empty glass while she is doing who knows what. Place has never been good and suffered with the move from Middleville. Not very busy and yet still waiting. Took our order with an attitude as though we were too much trouble. No potatoe salad! Really Pat. It gets better. Dinner served and ice cold. Thanks for nothing. Took my plate back to the counter and said don’t bother. Manager made a half ass attempt to fix the situation as Pat the owner made his rounds. I WILLNEVERCOMEBACK! THANKSPAT!

Kid Friendly, quick and delicious meals. Extra plus is the use of local meats and produce!

I like the interior and I like the owner who talked about some common geography with me. That’s the good… overall I just wasn’t impressed tho. BBQ for whitebread upstate NY: bland and really not a love in this food. BBQ takes time… this stuff had no smoke flavor, no smoke ring, and no real spice. You can’t rush this stuff. The Dino BBQ is just down the road, and Utica folks like food and you may find a competitor soon. Marty McGillcuddy mediocrity wont work w BBQ.

Everything is overcooked and flavor is sauce dependent. They have the smokers someone just does not know how to BBQ. Ray Brothers much better. Service is very friendly

Food is mediocre. It seems that since they moved the food quality has dropped. Service is fast but lacking in skills.

We had a really abysmal meal here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We all ordered different things in an effort to see what’s best(we were hoping it would be good enough to book for our rehearsal dinner). We tried to ask a few questions about any side dishes they might have that would fall into the vegetarian or vegan categories(I know, I know); our server was not familiar with the word«vegan». She was not particularly helpful, and service was slow with only four or five tables occupied and, seemingly, more than one server working the floor. We figured we could speak with someone later if we really wanted to book them, and figure out something for our veg and vegan friends. Well, as it turned out, no need — the BBQ(half chicken, pulled pork, and ribs) had little to no flavor, and the same could be said for the veggies on the side, which were some of the saddest vegetables I’ve seen, outside of a freezer or can. The coleslaw was, unfortunately, terrible and tasted old/off. The décor is very country, and if the food were better(read: good at all) we would head back for meals, or to hang out at the bar. Needless to say, we will not return.

Not a fan. Had the 2 Meat combo with ribs and brisket along with sides of baked beans and slaw. The meal also came wit a roll… would have expected cornbread but I guess that is extra. The brisket was dry and the ribs were nothing special. The baked beans didn’t have much flavor. I would say the slaw was probably the best part of the meal. As one who eats bbq all over the U.S. I can’t rate this as one of my favorites.

I’ll say this… piggy pat’s gives you A LOT of food. Too bad it’s all very mediocre and bland. Do yourself a favor and drive to dinosaur in syracuse instead. PS — hush puppies are more than just pieces of corn bread that have been deep fried. I’m just saying, piggy pat’s.

Meh. The sausage tasted weird, the pulled pork was heavy on the vinegar but had no smoky flavor, and was shredded beyond recognition. The chicken is ok, as are the beans. I’ve had better, wouldn’t go out of my way.

Excellent BBQ at this place. It’s done the right way, smoked right out back and served without the pool of BBQ sauce to hide the flavor. Add your choice of sauces to your liking. Atmosphere is nice and casual. Always make a point to stop in when I’m up that way. Jump off of the Thruway and find this place.

Are you 50% in the mood for great barbecue? Why not roll the dice at Piggy Pat’s. It’s truly been a hit or miss. My best meals have been earlier in the day and week. Lunch has always been good. Sunday evenings seem to be the end of their week and thus the worse time to go for dinner. They were out of about 40% of menu items and the ribs I ended up with were dry and sub-par. They offer great homemade potato chips at the bar, but if you order a sandwich you get a shitty bag of Terrill’s as a side. It’s not even opened and plated. Just a phoned in $ 0.43 tiny bag of shit chips. Can you bring me some of those drastically better complimentary chips to go with my $ 8 sandwich? Thanks. The wooden benches are also highly uncomfortable. My ass gives them 1 star.

The pulled pork is pretty darn good here – I especially enjoy it doused with the vinegary and spicy sauce, though their barbeque sauce is good too. The bbq chicken is also tasty – nicely smoked and moist. Friendly and efficient service and a casual atmosphere make it a pleasant dining experience.

I’ve only recently become acquainted with Piggy Pat’s, but I have really enjoyed the multiple trips I’ve made here for food and live music. Piggy Pat’s always seems to have a crowd of regulars at the bar along with a good mix of people just looking for some tasty BBQ and live music on the weekends. They have a fairly typical BBQ menu and a great mix of beer and mixed drink selections. I’ve tried a few different things here, but always come back for the pulled pork. Their homemade Carolina barbecue sauce is very good. It’s a thinner style vinegar type sauce with a big kick of heat — tasty! Cornbread is pretty standard but good — but I think I prefer the rolls they serve. I highly recommend asking your server for some for their bar chips — these are excellent. I’ve never tried dessert but if you’re eating a proper meal at a BBQ joint, who has room anyway. Each Friday and Saturday night they feature live music — so if that’s up your alley it’s a great reason to stop in.

We ordered Piggy Pat’s for 80 people the night before our wedding, and it was delicious, affordable, and delivered on time. Perhaps it’s not the absolute best BBQ in the world, but you know what, it’s pretty darn good! I’ve also eaten at the restaurant and found the food to be great and the atmosphere lively. Their sweet potato fries=amazing!

I came here for an early dinner on a Sunday. I believe it was about 4pm. I ordered the half«free range chicken» from their local menu. My girlfriend ordered the Cuban sandwich and we got a dozen wings as an appetizer. Our waitress brought out the wings quickly enough. They were prepared as we had asked for them(medium and crispy). I asked for ranch to go with them, and she didn’t come back until she brought our meals. The ranch never came. The half«free range» chicken cost me $ 16, so I expected something great. It was not. The meat was dry and greasy, although fairly tender. The odd texture made me think that it had been cooked the day prior, and reheated for me; very poor. It didn’t seem to have any seasoning at all on it. No salt, no pepper, nothing. It was extremely bland. From a BBQ joint with attitude, I expected a lot more, especially for chicken at $ 16. How could they not put some dry rub on that at least? The chicken BBQ that my local fire department serves as a fund raiser is far better. The baked beans were also poorly seasoned. Their BBQ sauce was so-so. It just seemed watery and lacking in real flavor other than vinegar. The Cuban sandwich was very fatty. The ham should have really been trimmed. I didn’t taste it, so I can’t comment much more than that. It strikes me as a place that the locals like because they haven’t been to the Dinosaur and don’t know any better. I’d suggest giving it a pass and going elsewhere. Syracuse isn’t far away! Drive to the Dinosaur!

On a visit upstate to visit my friend she said we just HAD to try Piggy Pats. Little did I know, they would also be catering the event we were attending the following day so I had Piggy Pats two days in a row. Pulling into the parking lot on a Friday night, it was PACKED so I expected inside to be also however we were sat right away. From our window seat, we could see a deck outside with a playground for kids. LOVE this idea for a casual family owned place like this. The menus are pretty usual BBQ style food. But I will say I was impressed that they had a local menu as well! There were quite a few options and all listed the farm which the food was from. LOVE supporting local businesses. Especially upstate New York! Obvi I ordered the pulled pork — the Pig Pile Carolina Pulled pork — so it came with slaw(very limited slaw) on top. All our food came very quickly so you can tell it was all prepared in advance and just plated to order. But its BBQ, you can expect them to put on the rub and start the cooking when you order! The food was all good. There was extra BBQ sauce on the table that I doused my sandwich in. The prices were great. If you are in the area and want some traditional BBQ, I would definitely recommend stopping here.

Great atmosphere and amazing BBQ food! The place is lively and spacious and I believe they do catering and host events there too. Everyone is extremely friendly and the service is good. Food does take a while to arrive but it’s worth the wait. They have amazing ribs, brisket, and wings so best get yourself ready to pig out when you come here!
