Hands Down the Food Is Amazing, full of flavor and very FRESH tasting. I hope they open up full time here in New Haven!

Wow, heard about this place threw a local Facebook group and glad we went. They are only open Monday’s from 5 – 9 as it is a Coney Island the rest of the week. We ordered the enchiladas with slow roasted beef and it was crazy good. My friend had a taco salad and it looked amazing. Place was rocking but service was quick and friendly. We will be back
Starting 2016 they will be only open Thursday evening instead of Monday’s. Same times 5pm-​9pm. Just a updated

Food is so good and fresh. The Taco salad is the best. The street tacos are always tasty, especially the carnitas. Carter is doing a great job! Since it is only on Monday, the whole family looks forward to coming back for our weekly fix of lil’ Mexico in New Haven.

Very, very fresh. From the tortillas and salsa, to the fajitas. Only complaint was that the protein lacked seasoning. Just needed a bit of a kick. I had shrimp fajitas, hubby had a combo plate. Even his chicken was a bit bland. Frijoles were nicely spiced with cumin, but everything else needed seasoning. I also thought the portion size for the shrimp fajitas was a bit small for the price. We did get carry out, so I will try again as a sit down meal. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only open on Monday, and relatively new (under 2 months), so definitely warrants a return visit.

If there is one thing we need badly in this corner of Macomb county, it’s a good Mexican restaurant. Our family has made Monday nights at Carters Cantina a bit of a routine. Authentic Mexican food and a small town family atmosphere. The street tacos with the slow roasted beef are my favorite. The guacamole is excellent and they also have some home made hot sauce that warms you right up. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
