Dana the bartender is accommodating and she makes one of the best Irish coffees I have had. She was nice enough to make a Bloody Mary at 8:45PM on a busy night if that’s any indication. The décor is exactly as you would imagine from an Irish Pub, a bit more on the sports side, but without being dark and dingy. I would recommend bringing a friend or date here.

This bar is ok. I came during an evening with some girls and was expecting it to be a lot more friendly and upbeat then it was. For a friday night I was definitely expecting it to be a lot more popping and lively then it was. We got a chicken quesadilla which was ok, but they do have a large variety of on tap beers. Overall, I wouldn’t turn down an offer to go here, but there are definitely other Irish pubs in the area I prefer that are more lively and friendly.

I only had some nachos(which were fine, nothing more) so I can’t really comment on the food. The bartenders were cool and knowledgeable, and they had an above average tap list. I primarily came because we heard the word that they had Fuzzy Baby Ducks on tap, which was aces. That beer is 5 stars.

Went here for lunch and a couple of beers on a Saturday afternoon. Thank you Groupon. We were basically the only people there. We ordered a chicken quesadilla which was«okay». We also shared the shepherds pie which was bland. Bartender was super nice and welcoming. Seems like it would be a fun bar in the evening hours or during a soccer game. I wouldn’t rush back for the food.

Nice bar. I can’t wait to hangout here. Reminds me of a few places in Springfield MA. That’s not necessarily a good thing but in this case it is. Great beer options. Oh but the wings are preheated and horrible stay away

Great bar. I enjoyed the enthusiastic fans, the friendly bartender, interesting beer selection and great food. I had a fantastic Irish breakfast — better than the usual«traditional» in that the cook obviously believes in seasoning the food so the home fries and mushrooms were ridiculously good. My girlfriend’s burger was cooked perfectly medium rare, obviously fresh, sweet potato fries were really tasty and the coleslaw had dill in it which was a refreshingly different addition to something that is boring most places. I highly recommend and will be back

Visited Christy’s Pub with a couple of friends after a Yale hockey game because the rest of the gang was interested in coming. It hosts a nice setting, with a fun and friendly atmosphere. They had a NBA game on, playing on a large-ish flat screen television. I can’t speak to their menu, as I only partook in a Diet Coke — but I did enjoy my pop and some good company. Verdict: Fun and lively bar. Good venue for hanging with friends.

A classic Irish pub style bar. It’s a perfect place to watch a soccer game and grab a beer. Lots of soccer flags hung on the walls to show you you’re in the right place. Good tv’s and they break out the projector for some games. Unfortunately, Christy’s is a known Arsenal bar, but it doesn’t stop me from catching a Liverpool game there every once in a while, hah. Also they have $ 4 Guinness on NFL Sunday.

I love this bar. Great neighborhood bar with lots of rotating beers on tap. The beer offerings are always in tune with the season. Excellent group of bartenders that are friendly and knowledgeable.

Wow! I rarely give pubs a 5 star rating but this place deserves it. First off, excellent beer selection. All kinds of unique and local brews on tap. Second, good selection of Irish whiskey. Third, the whole place is decorated with authentic Irish memorabilia including pictures from the early 1900s when Ireland fought for its independence. Fourth, the bartender is great. Nice guy, knowledgeable and friendly. Fifth, lots of TVs showing European football matches. Finally, try the whiskey flat iron steak. Amazing!

This place at first scared us. 5 kids 3 adults. Zero people there. Great bar tender… but with the place empty I thought it wasn’t good. I was wrong. Great guiness… awesome fresh food. Outstanding.

A group of seven friends and I had a reunion over Thanksgiving weekend(11/30/2013) in New Haven and we needed a place that would meet everyone’s needs. After reviewing several restaurants on Unilocal,we decided on Christy’s due to its affordability, location(it is close to the New Haven green), and diverse menu. My fiancé and I arrived a little early before our group, so we decided to grab a few drinks at the bar. There weren’t many people there for 7PM on a Saturday evening, but I don’t want to judge… it was the Saturday after Thanksgiving after all. The bartenders were both extremely friendly and served us right away. After our group arrived they sat us all together. Here’s the breakdown of our visit: Appearance: The place has a great pub feel. Based on all the soccer flags, it must be a great bar to watch a match. Drinks: Decent selection of beer, both microbrews and the standard offerings(of course they have Guinness). They also do mixed drinks. Everyone at the table seemed very happy with the drinks they ordered. Service: As mentioned, the servers were very friendly and accommodating of our large crowd. The kitchen took awhile to bring out all of our orders at once(the salads were last… but it made sense to make those after the hot entrees), but they might have been short staffed due to the holiday. Otherwise no complaints. Everyone was very courteous and the bartender who served us made sure that we all got separate checks. That was AWESOME, as it is always really hard to split a bill amongst so many people. Food: My fiancé and I split the reuben and the fish and chips. The reuben was delicious and the mixed fries(regular, steak, and sweet potato if I remember correctly) were very tasty. The fish was beer battered, which often means it could be very heavy. I was pleasantly surprised that the fish was light and crispy. Everyone else who ordered a variety of salads and veggie burgers all commented on how delicious the food was. Potions were definitely generous and reasonably priced. Bottom Line: The food was good, portions were sizable, and the beer selection was respectable. If in the area, we would probably return again, especially to see the place on a Friday or Saturday night. All in all if you are looking for a classic pub feel, Christy’s is where you want to be!

Came here in the afternoon for lunch and sat on the patio. Nice selection of beers and the food is simply amazing. Bartender was serving and made sure the irish curry was dairy free for me. I had the fish & chips and my date had the irish curry both were awesome. The chips were a mix of regular and sweet potato and the tartar sauce to go along was awesome. The irish curry is well just amazing if you like any kind of curry just try it! The place was pretty quiet in the afternoon so the patio was nice to sit out on. We’ll be back!

Great pub for drinks and food. Went here recently with my father for lunch and a pint. I was especially surprised at how good the nachos were! It was a huge portion so I took some home, though I was thinking it wouldn’t be as good at home since I didn’t have any sour cream left. BUT… They had given me an extra container of sour cream out of the goodness of their hearts(even though I didn’t ask for it). I am an admitted sour cream junky, so this made my day. It seems silly, but it was a bit of thoughtfulness that I don’t normally expect from a bar. Kudos to Christy’s, and I’ll be back for more soon.

After reading on Christy’s Facebook page that a new chef was hired on May 7th, and the menu was completely overhauled, and the fact this place is right across the street from my office, I had to try it out. A Heineken($ 3), and a Steak Sandwich Platter($ 10) later and I was in a food coma. The steak sandwich was huge, and filled with top quality shaved steak, cheese, mushrooms, onions, and a bit of demi glacé. The side of mixed fries(sweet & regular potato), coleslaw & a pickle were great compliments to the sandwich. The portion sizes were just right, I left satisfied, but not over-stuffed or weighed down. Kudos to the new chef!

A large group of us were here for happy hour last night and it was great. Drinks were well made, food was good(we had buffalo chicken tenders and burgers), and the environment was high energy without being obnoxiously loud. Bathroom was really clean, especially for a bar. It’s easy to see why this is a favorite spot for some of our friends.

I went here with my friends after dinner. Apparently people prefer to stand because it was really easy to get a table and there were others open even when it was crowded. The prices are fairly standard if not a bit less expensive. Five drinks(three beers, two mixed drinks) cost $ 30. Also, the live music was great. it was some Irish band that I was told only has a few shows every year. They were clearly great musicians and they weren’t so loud it was overpowering. The owner, Christy, was hanging out and eating wings. I’m glad he likes the food because if there’s a next time I will certainly be up for some wings myself.
