Cute little liquor store with a nice selection of wine. I went in looking for a particular pinot grigio, and instead of telling me, no we don’t carry that, but here is another brand you might enjoy. I was handed a white wine with a similar name. Good try, but no thanks. I decided to look around for myself. The store seemed to be having a vodka tasting at the time, which is a plus. I wouldn’t mind coming into this store for my hard liquor needs and the occasional bottle of wine, but not too sure I would stop in if I needed a wine recommendation.

College Wine is my local liquor store, and while it’s not quite the class joint that is the Wine Thief down Crown, it’s closer to my house and for the most part, it suffices. I’d heard that they were lax about selling liquor to minors, but I’ve found that they stare at my ID every time, so be warned, undergrads.(Not that you should be buying liquor anyway. Shame on you all.) They have a good selection of beer and what looks like a shit-ton of wine. I think they have pretty much everything you might need liquor-wise, though they were sold out of peppermint schnapps last week. Prices are standard, not the best. 1.75 L of Grey Goose goes for I think $ 61 or something like that. It closes at 8:45, and I have shown up at 9 and been turned away. There’s a special shame in being turned away from a mildly shabby-looking liquor store reputed to sell to undergrads, so take note.
