Double D’s Bama – Q

I attended a 60^th birthday party today and was surprised to find a real down home southern serving the best barbecue around! I have tried so many others but this guy is the real deal, he is from Alabama and the food is just as authentic as the southern drawl. His baked beans were as good as my own if not better, the pulled pork was moist, tender and very flavorful before even adding his specialty sauces. The smoked turkey flavor was subtle and not over powering like some smoked foods can be. I understand he parks on Alabama St. in New Haven most days but otherwise he will cater just about any amount of people right in your backyard. I found myself thinking of an excuse to have a party just to eat his food again! Dave Dumas is warm, friendly and this guy can cook, you won’t be disappointed! Now I am off to look for that excuse for a party…
