Evening Dinner! Run here now before this place is discovered and one can’t get a seat. Every aspect of our dinner was outstanding. From the crusty bread with sweet cream butter, to attentive patient service, to a rich warming flavors in a soup filled with meat and root veggies! Organic chicken, seafood soup and wines were all a hit as well. Best Ropa Veija I’ve ever had. Go. Here. For. Dinner. Now!

Manjares food is always always fresh and delicious. The prices are beyond reasonable, too! I love the atmosphere, and service is always good. I recommend the Menjares eggs and the sausage breakfast sandwich.

My bf and I have been here twice because the food is unique and delicious. If you enjoy sweets, you’ve got to try the guava and cheese pastries. You’ll be thanking me when you do. He will usually order the ‘manjares eggs’ with extra eggs and then I try to sneak and eat the yuca and mangu(mashed plantains… sooo good!). I’ve had the breakfast burritos(veggie) and love the fact that they come with rice and beans inside. My favorite part was the small side of salsa that comes with them — you can tell it is freshly made and it was spicy and so good it took me back to breakfasts in Cancun. It’s a good place to sit and have coffee, and it looks like they have wine and dinners starting — they are converting from just breakfast/lunch to include happy hour and dinners. There is always seating when we go and parking on the street. Go when the weather is nice and sit outside!

Schönes kleines Café bzw. Bistro. Die Speisen sind selbstgemacht und richtig lecker. Auch der Kaffee schmeckt super! Wieder einmal eine hervorragende Alternative zum Fastfood.

Went for brunch on a Saturday. Our server was horrible. From what I understand, she is the owner’s daughter. She seemed to be more interested in making out with her husband than tending to customers. My friend had to get his own beer as she left it on the counter for ten minutes to sit outside. At one point, our server and her«friend» both went into the back for a few minutes and reappeared… she smirking and he adjusting his pants. I thought I was the only one who saw it but someone else in my party remarked how the waitress looked like she had sneaked off to have sex. Gross. I won’t be going back.

Coffee fine. Harvest Muffin was not fresh and was at least a day old. They make them there I was told, and should know better than to serve a stale muffin

Great option for breakfast and brunch. The ambiance is laid back, rooms are spacious and pleasant. Eggs Manjares are very tasty. Omelette with goat cheese is very, very. Would love to try other items.

If you’re looking for a great brunch or lunch experience, look no further! I have been frequenting Manajares for a couple of months now and I have yet to be disappointed. I have been to all the brunch places in Westville and this is by far my favorite. I first started coming to get the pastries — their chocolate croissants are superb. I think what makes this place worth 5 stars is the flavor and the fresh quality of all of their food. The orange juice is fresh squeezed from RIPE oranges– the orange juice at Bella’s Café is bitter ! In addition they bake their own breads! Their Challah French toast is exquisite and packed with flavor — Lena’s Confection’s Challah French toast was bland, thin, and left me hungry. The portions here are perfect! Not too much(Bella’s) but not too little(Lena’s). Not to mention the prices !! The prices are ideal especially for what you are getting. Dare I say one«$» sign is a more apt symbol for the prices here. I come here 2 – 4 times a week! In addition, the owners treat you as if you are family, and it really makes the difference. I love this place, and I will remain faithful.(yes, they have mimosa lol)

Manjares is a great choice for brunch when you’re in the mood for something a little different than what you can get around the corner at Lena’s or Bella’s. Their smoked salmon and cream cheese or sundried tomato, spinach, and feta omelettes are excellent, as are the breakfast burritos. Whatever you choose, I’d recommend adding the«Caribbean complement» of yucca, plantains, and an arepa for a unique and tasty touch. The indoor and outdoor seating are both comfortable, and if you’re there on a Sunday you can head across the street to the farmer’s market once you’ve finished eating. It’s family-run and the service is unhurried, to say the least. Not the best choice if you’re in a rush, but if like me you believe that brunch should be a relaxed experience, you probably won’t have any issues. I’ve also been here once in the evening for dinner, though according to their website they’re no longer open past 3:00 pm, so I’m honestly not sure if that’s still an option. In any case, we had some great wine and tapas, including a beef carpaccio with shaved manchego and arugula that was one of the best things I had eaten in months.

Pros: Their americano is the best I have had in New Haven. The outdoor seating area is really nice, especially on Sundays when the farmer’s market is happening across the street. The indoor space is very cute, and the service is great. Cons: The food is hit-or-miss. Ordering the same thing from week to week will get you variable-quality results. But the coffee is always excellent.

Breakfast here is great. I’d recommend the signature breakfast! There’s food here you just and get anywhere else. It’s a good place to go after the farmers market or to get some work done. Obviously very fresh and just-cooked. They also do a tapas night which I haven’t been to, but which looks terrific.

Love their breakfast options. Have gone here many times and I’m never disappointedly. Great coffee and expresso. Maybe not the quickest of service but I find it’s well worth the wait. Great place to come and leisurely grab brunch and hang out.

Manjares is one of my favorite places to eat. Yes the service can be slow, but the atmosphere is so nice that I don’t mind waiting. Pretty much everything I’ve tasted on the menu has been delicious. «The Works» oatmeal is gigantic, filled to the brim with fruit. I am in love with the salmon omelet, pancakes, sandwiches, Russian salad, and delicious pastries. This would be a nice place to study or curl up with a book if you’ve got some time to kill in the morning.

FOODISAMAZINGBUTSERVICEISSOTERRIBLEIT’S NOTWORTHIT! I understand it’s family run, so maybe the rules are probably non existent for the staff but one girl is so incredibly unfriendly it’s not even worth the trip. The service is so disorganized you don’t know how to get what you need. There’s Bellas and Lenas around the corner, with FANTASTIC staff and better menus. If Manjares doesn’t need my $$ enough to be nice to me. I’ll go somewhere that does!

Nice, low key place. Had breakfast and everything was good, some was inventive and different. Recommended.

Stopped in for coffee to go after visiting the farmer’s market. The counter help were nice kids, but they were in way over their heads and were having trouble with simple stuff. While waiting a very long time for coffee, we saw people growing impatient waiting for food and checks, and the experienced waitstaff were really hustling to compensate. The place was busy and the owner was pleasant and apologized for the wait. The coffee wasn’t as strong as I remember from when Manjares first opened several years ago, and my latte was only so-so. The place is pretty and the atmosphere is nice, but the service definitely needs help.

Manjares is an OK place to grab a bite to eat, so long as you’re not in a hurry. The first time I went here was a Saturday and we waited over 30 minutes for an egg and cheese sandwich. I thought it was because the place was swamped, only to discover that the order had not even been placed. In somewhat of a hurry I finally received a sandwich to go. They did make up for the mistake by refunding our money, which I appreciated, but by that point I was so hungry and in a hurry that I swore Id never return… Well, Ive since gone back and had their soup and sandwich combo, and it was really tasty(and timely). The squash soup was a little odd tasting to me though. Overall, this place is cute, with decent amounts of seating with good views of the park across the street. The food is good. The service is not worth mentioning, except to say that they could afford to employ people who are a little more friendly and enthusiastic about having paying customers in front of them. Ive worked in service before, so heres a tip: SMILE and ask how your customer is doing when they walk up to the cash register. otherwise, they might question giving you their money next time.

$ 7 bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, she offered«on a roll?» I said«great.» 10 min later it came out on focaccia. Okay, fine no big deal. I was expecting a fried egg or 2, but got scrambled w/some partially melted cheddar. No prob, I can handle that. But the 5 strips of nearly raw bacon was a step too far. I politely called the server over and asked if they could please make the bacon crispy, apologizing for being a pain in the ass. Waited another 5 min thinking«wow,» them strips are gonna be nice and crispy and when she returned with the sandwich she said«we didn’t want to burn it.» But when I opened the sandwich all 5 strips had not even been touched. Still floppy, pink and nearly raw. I pulled the raw bacon off, ate ½ of the now cold sandwich and left the rest. I put my plate on the counter on the way out and I told her that there was no place on the planet that this would be considered crispy. If a place can’t get bacon crispy, what can they do?

I really really wanted to love this place. The restaurant itself is cute and cozy with a great location in westville. I ordered a spinach omelet with feta and sundries tomatoes. first bite was good. second bite had. gravel? Whatever it was left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The arepa was good and so was the bread that was served with my omelet. My husband had the Paglia which was a pancake sandwich with bacon egg and cheese served with syrup. The people who worked there were really nice but we stayed longer than we wanted because service was so-so. I really really wanted to like this place maybe I’ll try it for dinner one day and hopefully my perception will change.

Manjares is a delightful café with lots of natural light. I went there for brunch and would happily return. It is on the small side though and the seating arrangement is tight so I wouldn’t recommend going with a large group. I had the Roasted Pepper, Caramelized Onions, Zucchini and Mushrooms omelet. The ingredients were so fresh and the omelet was not greasy or heavy at all. It came with 3 small sides — mangu(mashed green plantains), yucca and areaps(corn cakes) — and they were all delicious. The omelet was served on a notepad plate which was such a cute touch. I also had the lemon cream blueberry pastry, which was lovely and I would definitely get again. The chocolate croissant could’ve used more chocolate in my opinion, but it was decent. The coffee sufficed though it wasn’t anything special. The cashier who took my order seemed really confused the whole time and was not as warm or welcoming as I would expect at this kind of café, but perhaps she was new or having a bad morning.
