If you are interested in being lied to and treated rudely, look no further than Bill DeMaio at Vacancy Busters, LLC! My Experience: I applied for an apartment that was listed as «Available Now» and I made it clear in my first conversation with Bill and on my application that August 1 was my move-in date. On the day I was supposed to sign the lease, he emailed me to say that he double-checked and the apartment actually wasn’t available until September 1. I asked if he had any comparable apartments and he sent a couple of listings. When I asked him a few questions about the listings(regarding the monthly rent as well as what the«deposit and fees» included), he abruptly decided that he would rather refund my application fees than answer my questions. Another agent, Daniela, did email me and offer to help me find a rental, but at that point I was so put off that I just wanted to be done with them. The Bottom Line: On their website, Vacancy Busters claims to provide a «comprehensive service» and that they are«professional real estate agents working for you», but nothing could be further from the truth. I wasted almost 2 weeks dealing with them, always with 2 or 3 days between each response. Bill DeMaio is FAR from professional. And they certainly will not«work for you» because even answering a few simple questions is too much to ask. The only good thing I can say about Vacancy Busters is that they refunded my application fees so that I could take my business elsewhere. To tenants looking for a rental: Do not touch a rental from this company with a ten foot pole, especially if Bill DeMaio is the contact. To landlords looking to list a property: Vacancy Busters turns away applicants with steady income, good credit and perfect rental history for no apparent reason. Please save yourself and your future tenants the headache of dealing with them and look elsewhere.

I have had an excellent experience with vacancy Busters. We were in a real fix trying to find an apartment as one that we were about to rent fell through because the person did not want to rent to us because we have children. the truck was already moving from California and we had two days to find a place. I called vacancy busters and gave them our needs for number of bedrooms and preference for being on the first floor and how much we can afford and he had us an apartment just-in-time. they were always courteous, friendly, and professional. they have helped us with any small thing with needed had touched up in our apartment and we fully intend to renew our lease. I highly recommend this company.

Horrible experience. If you’re renting an apartment in New Haven, steer clear of this agency; they’re like a sleazy-used car dealership. Everything from their agents and office pressures you to sign a lease so they can get your money. My significant other and I initially thought we wanted an apartment from them, and came to their office to sign the lease. From the moment we walked in, the«boss» was shouting orders abrasively to other workers, and we felt very uncomfortable. We were given applications to fill out, and we were told that upon completion of these applications there would be a $ 700 deposit for the apartment. We finished part of the application, but needed references from our landlord and our employer for the rest, so we took them home to complete them. My mistake was letting them run my credit card for the $ 700 before I left, but they insisted they couldn’t hold an apartment without it. We decided the next day that we didn’t want the apartment – we would have to deal with these people when we moved out, after all. I called to cancel, but they refused to refund me the $ 700, saying they had already showed the application to the landlord and we had rented it. So they either A) showed the landlord our incomplete application or B) lied about showing the landlord the application and kept my money. Either scenario is pretty poor business practice on their part. All the other realty groups and individual landlords I dealt with were much better; if you need recommendations, I’d go with TriCapita Investment or Frew Management, but steer clear of VacancyBusters.
