I’m going to preface this review by saying that I haven’t needed my typewriter fixed up in a while, so I’m not sure if this place is still there. But if it is, I’d give it ten stars if I could. Mr. Whitlock is amazing. He’s quite a personality and, of course, great with typewriters. The first typewriter I brought him was in quite good condition, although I didn’t know it; having just begun using typewriters, I’d put in the wrong kind of ribbon and had gunked up the insides. But other than that, it was fine, and rather than overcharging me, he told me that right away. I asked him to make sure it was in perfect working order anyway, and within a week I had it back, in perfect working order, sparkling clean, and with a brand new ribbon! And all for some ridiculously low price that I can no longer remember but do recall being totally wowed by. So, in conclusion, if you have a typewriter, this is the place to go. Mr. Whitlock also has great stories to tell and has been featured in several articles(Yale Daily News has one; NY Times regional had another). Just remember to call ahead!
