Initially I would have given this store a 5 star review based on the very nice hat I purchased here a couple months ago. However that changed today when I was looking for a wool throw blanket for my sister. I was unable to recall the décor in her new living room and happened to have a photo of it on my phone. I searched through my texts and found the photo my sister had sent me. Just as my girlfriend and I were considering which blankets might best match their décor, one of the employees came up and told us that the store was«gadget-free» and asked us to turn my phone off. When I explained that I was looking at a photo in order to make a purchase, she replied«yes, I know sometimes it’s difficult.»(meaning difficult to «unplug») We promptly left and purchased a blanket elsewhere. I understand the policy in general but a normal, free-thinking human would’ve heard what I said and perhaps offered to help find a blanket to match the photo we were looking at – or some other similar accommodation given that we weren’t looking at Facebook, Twitter, etc. Instead they drove a customer away — likely never to return. I guess their price mark-ups are sufficient enough to offset the occasional customer they turn away with their 100% inflexible policies. It’s a luxury most businesses in Ireland would love to have.

I love this store. I go in every time I come to New Hope. It’s a little pricey, but the prices are reasonable for the quality of what they sell. One time I bought a beautiful pendent necklace from them. The cord broke when I got home, and so I brought it back. The next time I drove to back I stopped by again and showed them. They quickly exchanged it for a second one, were very polite and apologetic, and the second one was fine. They said it’s never happened before, and considering how nice they are, I believe it. Great guys, and very knowledgeable.

Fantastic shop: cozy atmosphere and great products. Mostly Irish goods; I didn’t know of the Spanish-Irish connection. Thank you!

Marvelous shop with items I have never seen before. I was hoping for more Spanish goods as I am particularly fond of that country but there was still more than I have seen elsewhere and all of the highest quality. The staff was very friendly and when I had a small problem with an item I was given great service over the phone and provided with a replacement item by mail. This is a truly unique shop that one must visit if you are in New Hope.

I’m very fond of this shop and like to wander around. I must confess it seems to be far more Irish than Iberian but the good run towards silver jewelry, warm sweaters and good heavy tweeds. I also like their twill ‘grandfather’s shirts’ with banded collars. I know some people have said they have problems with the staff but I’ve never found them anything but friendly. The story however is full of sparkly and pretty little thinks that might tempt children to ‘play’ with them. everything is within easy access for shoppers to touch and feel and unfortunately these are also very exposed to the potential for food or drink to stain them, so I can understand if the staff if leery of these things(food, drink, children) come in. The other element here is the price. Things can be a bit steep if compared to items in a department store but this is where quality comes in. You are getting what you paid for and on examination these are much better quality than the goods in a mall that ‘look’ the same but aren’t. so is there a little sticker shock on some items? yup. but if you take the time to really pay attention to the quality and compare THAT as well as the price tag. you’ll see it’s worth it.

What a charming place! If you have ever been to Ireland, well its no replacement, but it sure does remind you of the place! They have authentic Irish clothing and gifts with a nice variety of options. Pricing is a bit on the expensive side, but I suppose there is merit to some of it being imported from Ireland. The staff are friendly and helpful. I did get carded for buying the chocolate with Jameson in it though(totally random!). Overall a warm and inviting experience. Be sure to check out their beautiful scarf collection!

I’m sorry I stopped in here with my mom today, on Mother’s Day. Incredibly rude staff. As soon as I walked in, coffee in hand, the guy working says, condescendingly, «Um I’ll be holding that coffee for you at the counter and by the way we are closing soon.» — Well alrighty then. It was the unwelcoming and insulting way he said it that caught me off guard. I certainly understand that some stores don’t allow drinks inside, and I have no issue with leaving my drink on a counter while I look around… But here’s an idea, find a friendlier way to remind(potential) customers who come in to(potentially) spend their hard earned money on these overpriced souvenirs. Anyway, after looking around I realized very quickly that there is nothing special about the merchandise and much of it can be found cheaper online. I’m not surprised to see others shared a similar negative experience. Won’t be stopping in again.

Not much here you can’t get elsewhere. Go here for the nasty, unfriendly and abrupt staff.

Really cool little shop in New Hope. For a small store, they have a ton of really nice, authentic Irish clothing. Went in looking for a tweed sport coat for my father. Unfortunately they did not carry sport coats, but did have tweed vests and a really cool tweed jacket. Also had a lot of Irish sweaters, hats, and scarfs. Prices were a little high, but this stuff isn’t easy to find. Also had the stereotypical St. Patty’s sections that many who wander in probably expect to use to gear up for the parades and pints of green beer for the next few weeks. Other half of the store sells Irish art and decorations. Some very nice quality, but again for a high price. If you’re into Irish culture and nearby, this would be a place to stop by.

Great shop for authentic Irish goods. Witch isn’t easy to find in the Delaware Valley. The people are nice and not at overbearing simple hello when I walked in. The place is pricey but you get what you pay for. It is one of the many reason’s why I go to New Hope.

A very nice store with a very comprehensive selection of Irish goods.(sorry I wasn’t even thinking«Iberian») Thanks for turning me on to Taras Diary beads and rings. I got a bead, and totally am coveting their«claddagh» stacking ring!

I love going to New Hope to all the cool shops and restaurants and just being in the atmosphere of the town. I’ve been to this store a few times before, but the last time I visited it was horrible. We had went to the Buck’s County Playhouse to see their production of «A Christmas Carol», and we went and got drinks at Starbuck’s because we had some time to spare. So on our way back to the playhouse, we had maybe 10 minutes left so we decided to go into Celt-Iberia Traders. Now, there were three of us and we still had our drinks in our hand. I completely understand that a business like theirs requires a ‘no food, no drink’ policy, but that isn’t my problem. When we walked in, we were greeted and told that they can ‘hold’ our drinks at the counter. So one person I was with said«Oh no we’re fine then.» And we turned to leave, and as we walked out the door, one of the two shop keepers said«Bye bye then.» with an unpleasant attitude. It was rude, and I will not be going back. There was no need for them to be mean. It’s how you lose business.

When I stumbled upon Celt-Iberia Traders my little heart went a-pitter patter. During an extended stay in northern Spain when I was in high school, I was surprised to learn that Iberia(the peninsula that is Spain and Portugal) was invaded by the Celts. As a result the culture of the people that inhabit the northern and western coasts of Spain and Portugal is strongly Celtic. Bagpipes and kilts in Spain– YUP!!! So imagine my surprise when I discovered this sweet shop in Pennsylvania marketing wares that celebrate this little known fact that is held so close to my heart. But also imagine my disappointment when I entered the store and discovered that 95% of the merchandise is Irish and Scottish, and NOT from the Celtic regions of Spain. They did have a small smattering of Spanish goods, but they were from the South, which is decidedly NOT Celtic. Regardless, the merchandise they have in the store is beautiful. They’ve got jewelry and textiles like rugs, aran sweaters and other apparel. The 100% Irish Wool sweaters were BEEEAAUUUUUUUtiful(made in Ireland, assembled in Ireland). Awesome crafts, home décor, stained glass… This is a really great place to shop if the Celtic Nations hold a special place in your heart and you wanna splurge. $$$$, but worth every penny!
