Fun ride. Kids get to feed the ducklings. I hit my head on the overhead railing of the boat and the staff were kind and made sure I was ok.

I took a ferry ride on a rainy day in October. While the conditions weren’t ideal, the older gentleman running the ferry made every effort to make the ride as interesting as possible for us few riders. He took us to an area on the river that was sure to have a few turtles to see, and sure enough they were there. The ferry is a fun way to spend an hour or so seeing the river up-​close.

Seriously, the guy that runs this place (Bob Gerenser) is full-​blown bat shit crazy. Rude, angry, literally makes little children cry… The time we went, the guy seemed absolutely out of his mind. It’s the closest I’ve been in my adult life to getting in to a damn fist fight. If you’re looking for a ferry ride in New Hope, head up the street a bit to The Landing restaurant, there’s a river ferry right off the back lot run by nice, sane people.
