This Friday my husband and I visited this local restaurant to celebrate our 9th Wedding Anniversary. We have been to Bramasole on numerous occasions and are familiar with the owner, manager Anna. Unfortunately this will be the LASTTIME we eat at Bramasole. Initially when we called there was no answer for a few days… I took a chance and left a message on Facebook. Apparently the decided to randomly CLOSE the restaurant for a number of days. Perhaps a message on the business answering machine would have been helpful. We arrived and were seated at a very nice table near the fireplace. Shortly after Anna the manager greeted us at the table. The table across from ours was a 6 Top: 3 adults, a 2 month old infant, a 3 year old and a five year old child. One of the adults decided to give the 3 yr old their cellphone to watch a cartoon. The music in the restaurant was now drowned out by kiddie cartoons. Our waiter, Milton, opened and served our bottle of wine, took our order and we received our appetizers unfortunately the noise from the cell phone was too overwhelming… especially for a anniversary dinner for 2. Finally I got up and took Anna, the manager aside in the back of the restaurant to inform her of our displeasure. She admitted that she could hear the noise from the cell phone from where we were standing. To my surprise Anna was not willing to address the table of 6 that the cell phone needed to be silenced. Her solution was to inconvenience us and make USMOVE to another table. Stunning. My husband communicated his displeasure with to Anna’s solution when she came to our table. She simply offered to transport our food and wine to another table. I have 25 years experience in hospitality management. This was a coward’s way out of this situation and totally unacceptable. Things did not improve. Our second table was so close to the fire place that I was unable to tolerate the heat… I had to remove my sweater and actually change my seat at the table. Finally our entrees arrive… I am gluten free and Bramasole always accommodates people with this issue. Unfortunately the gluten free pasta was NOTCOOKED fully. At this point I did not mention this to my husband or the waiter. I just took it home . The food this time was underwhelming. The wine list seems to be shrinking. Our waiter, Milton was very nice and efficient. When we received our bill there was no «comp» on dessert or coffee to soften the fact that we had to move our seats due to the inconsiderate behavior of others. There are many other restaurants that will value our business. This one sadly is not one of them.

We held my daughter’s bridal shower for about 35 guests at this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the needs of our guests were graciously met. The food was delicious and the staff went out of their way to see that special dietary needs were met. We thoroughly enjoyed the event and received many compliments.

I hate to have to do this. We came back and What a disappointment it was. First of all our waitress was great. No fault there. I ordered the cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage. husband had grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes(he asked for no arugula). I suggested that perhaps I could have the broccoli rabe dish done with a red sauce instead of oil and garlic. The waitress kindly suggested that it probably would not be the right way to go. In turn she checked with the chef/owner who said in no way could he change this. I liked the waitress so went with it. My question is to the chef… if you wish to keep the recipe as is wouldn’t you actually use fresh tasty ingredients? The broccoli rabe was mushy and shredded. The pasta never saw salted taste at all. And the sausages were beyond dry. My husbands chicken tasted as if it was pre cooked then cooked some more when used in the dish. This is my swan song I’m afraid. I wanted to like this place and become a regular. Mediocre at best. Sorry but we won’t be returning.

My friends and I have been coming here for happy hour. They have a nice bar menu where everything is 5 dollars. The menu changes daily and we’ve tried lots of items. All good except for the blue cheese dressing… they should make it homemade or get a better brand. The food always comes out quickly and the bread assortment is nice as are the complimentary bruschetta. I’ve noticed that the bartender does not buy back drinks– it would be nice to get a buy back occasionally – Expected by NewYorkers.

I have heard and read some mixed reviews about this restaurant but always wanted to try it. The family and I went there on a Wednesday night, the place was not busy(as expected for a Wednesday in December) and we were seated and attended too very quickly. The meal started with a nice bread bowl with very fresh bread that my girls(7&4), my wife and I enjoyed. We also ordered the large calamari for an appetizer and it was delicious. The serving was very big and there was a lot to share. The sauce was delicious, I was impressed. For our meals the girls had ravioli with sauce and tortellini. Both were cooked well, however, I did not like that the ravioli did not come with the sauce on it, they served the sauce separately — not sure whyl. My wife had the chicken marsala and I had the shrimp monachino. The chicken marsala was slightly overcooked but the marsala and the mushrooms were excellent. The flavor was really nice and the portion was large enough that she had to take some home, they definitely do not skimp on the portions here. The shrimp monachino was excellent; I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. The butterflied and breaded shrimp were cooked to perfection and then baked with mushrooms and thin eggplant strips. The sauce this was all baked in was so good, I would recommend this dish if you enjoy those three items. I grew up in a sicilian household so the eggplant was pounded out and perfectly made nice and thin, then baked together with the mushrooms and mozzarella on top was extremely satisfying. For dessert we ordered a cannoli and the Nutella crème brûlée — the cannoli cream was fresh and we all enjoyed it. The Nutella crème brûlée was a special dessert that nighr but it should be on the menu all the time, it was excellent. My wife, who is not a fan of Nutella(yeah, thats just crazy) enjoyed it more than the cannoli. She said it didn’t taste like Nutella but more like a chocolate mousse crème brûlée. I highly recommend this if they have it and they should definitely make it a regular on the dessert menu. I am happy to say that I booked my daughters communion there in May and am excited to go again in between now and then. Looking forward to another great meal.

Last Saturday night we finally made it to Bramasole Italian Restaurant. We had passed it many times on the way to Chef Wang which is right past it on Jericho Tpke. We made a rezzy for 9pm and arrived on time to a good sized crowd and were seated immediately. The initial noise level was high due to a large party situated on the other side of their fireplace in the main dining room. We were greeted by a very nice waitress, who took our drink order and gave us the specials. Bonnie G. had a Rasberri Cosmorita, a nice looking concoction that tasted marvelous and I tried their Super Tuscan red wine that was bold and just what I needed. For Appys we started with a half dozen baked cherrystone clams which were delish and also a nicely done Caesar salad accompanied by some anchovy filets to mix in. At this point were starting to fill up but give in to that… hell no! Next we move into the mains… Bön had the Veal Marsala prepared with super white, tender veal, with a side of shells fra diavalo… was excellent! My main was Eggplant Parm in a tasty rich tomato sauce with a side of Angel Hair with white clam sauce… the clam sauce was a bit extra but with those garlic cloves and wonderful clams worth every penny! We capped the meal off with a terrific cup of coffee. Was bold, deep and rich flavored… a real hit! Bramasole is comfortable, warm and offers great food with attentive service. We will certainly return to try the other menu items.

Bramasole roughly translates to ‘yearning for the sun’ in Italian. The restaurant does a great job of bringing the sun, with great big sunflowers right out fun. Inside the restaurant it is actually quite smaller than I thought, but it drips with Italian inspiration from each corner. We were here for a post-funeral lunch, so our menu was pre-fixed. The first bread on the table was toasted. It was also notably very peppery, and the family I was with could be heard from each table commenting on that. We thought that was going to be the only bread until a bread baskets of soft and warm italian bread and garlic bread was placed on our tables. We then were brought bruschetta that was piled high with tomatoes, always a refreshing start to a meal. The waitresses were extremely nice and attentive, I never had an empty wine glass, and the wine was seriously good. I wish I made note of the white I was drinking. After the bruschetta, a caesar salad was brought over, they also accommodated two people sitting at my table who could not have a caesar salad with a different, more garden-style salad. They were able to put their own dressing as they pleased. It was great they could accommodate that even with the pre-fixed menu. The penne alla vodka came next and it was delicious. Afterwards came our main entrée, which we had the choice between Eggplant Rollatini, Flounder Oreganata, and Chicken parmigiana. I went with the the chicken parmigiana. The portion was massive and I have to wonder what kind of chicken it came from. The breading could have had a bit more flavor, but I was stuffed by the end of it! For dessert we had coffee and a cannoli. The cannoli reminded me of the cannoli we make at home. Staff was impeccable, food was pretty good, and the décor was other-wordly. This is a mighty little gem on Jericho.

I have been to Bramasole several times now and have never been disappointed. It’s good old fashioned Italian food. Not a large variety but what what they do, they do well! Service is excellent arm and welcoming.

Planned a party for 20 @ the restaurant mid week. Thanks to Bramasole — it was awesome and didnt break the bank. The service was unbelievable and the entire staff from kitchen to front of the house could not have been more accommodating or better. The food was outstanding — timely — hot and really good. Not a small feat when serving 20 for sit down. What a great experience and i look forward to more. Great job and THANKYOU

The service is very slow. I mean your in here for a good 3 hours. The food is ok. Not worth the long wait. Staff is excellent. I have tried this place 3 times and the results are the same very slow. You wait awhile for your food. If you have patience to wait then try it. Enjoy

We came here today and received great food and service. The lunch special is unbeatable! $ 14 for a salad or soup, an entrée, coffee/tea, a canoli… AND a glass or chardonnay or merlot. What a deal! The meal started with bruschetta and a huge bread basket. There were three varieties of bread: regular, garlic and spicy pepper. I personally loved the garlic bread. I choice my lunch special with a glass of merlot, a garden salad, the flounder oreganatta, coffee with my cannoli. I can’t say for how my merlot tasted since I didn’t drink it but the flounder was amazing! It is broiled and completely healthy. I loved the wine sauce and the tiny breadcrumps. The cannoli was one of the best I have ever tasted. You can tell it is home made and fresh. It wasn’t too sweet which is just the way I like it. They even gave my man a candle on his cannoli because it was his birthday :) The lunch portions are very generous and my friend even had to take his linguini mussels home. I will definitely be back next time for the lunch special.

Loved the ambiance completely. From the bar when you walk in to the fireplace and the lighting. It was a bit loud, but I think that’s because they had a large loud group there. Probably not the norm to have a table full of inconsiderate people. The food took a bit longer than I would have liked but it was very good. Nothing spectacular, but it was good Italian food which is what we were looking for. Would definitely return here again.

What a find… an unassuming white-tablecloth restaurant in the heart of New Hyde Park. My family and I had an absolutely delicious dinner here last night. The fried calamari was perfectly fried accompanied by a tangy marinara sauce. The arugula salad came with generous slices of Parmesan cheese and grilled zucchini. We each tried a different pasta dish and they were all amazing. The servers and staff were friendly. We will definitely return!

Great Italian food, great service, great variety of choices on menu. The only problem I had was the price of their sodas. They charged $ 2 per soda(no refills) for a small glass halfway filled with ice. It’s hard not to feel ripped off by the cost of maintaining a decent amount of beverage with your meal(so you don’t choke), at $ 2 each every 10 mins or so.

4.5 stars. Very elegant and surprisingly delicious meal. After hearing about the opening of the place, I decided that because it was getting such positive reviews on Unilocal,I should give it a try. For a Friday night, it was pretty crowded, with almost every table occupied at around 7:30. Since the place is becoming more popular by the day, I would recommend making a reservation. The décor is beautiful, with sunflowers growing outside, and the main dining room well lit up, filled with lovely silverware and décor. Excellent menu, even though the menu shown outside of the restaurant shows prices to be much cheaper. Large selection of pastas and proteins. Original and creative… For starters, try the park salad, or cold antipasti salad. Very good meats, delicious mozzarella, and fresh garden vegetables. Expertise is shown by the waitstaff, which was another pro to our meal. For entrees, we got the lasagna, an eggplant parm, and the eggplant with rigatoni and prosciutto(don’t know what it’s called…) The lasagna was massive, with a great balance of cheese to meat to thick pasta. Very good meal. My only concern was that the meat had a somewhat weird taste, which I didn’t like necessarily, but it was still a great overall meal. The eggplant parm was really spectacular, along with a side of rich pasta. The eggplant was perfectly cooked, not over-breaded, and delicious. The eggplant with rigatoni and prosciutto was an excellent combination, with each element being a star! I have some very minor concerns about this place, but overall, one of the best Italian restaurants around.

Excellent food and service. The price fixe menu was great. The ambiance was romantic. You can make reservations on open table which I also a plus. My husband had the fried calamari & pork chop umbriago and I had baked clams and shrimp parmigiana, we both had canolis for dessert. All of it was delicious!!! Our only complaint is that soda isn’t free refills — that’s annoying. We will definitely be back!

Excellent food and service! Best pesto I have ever had. They obviously don’t usually have kids there, but they were great with mine(we ordered an adult meal and split it between them). We never order off a kids menu for them anyway, so not a big deal(4 yr old and 6 yr old). Will be back again!!!

Had gotten mixed reviews from friends about this place. But overall, I was very happy here. I enjoyed the price fix meal I ordered. And it was extra good because a friend and I both got the price fix so we got a complimentary bottle of wine. A nice addition. I got the scallop pasta and it was so good. Also the calamari app I got was huge! And delicious. It wasn’t superb ready so it had good texture. Yum.
