Do yourself a favor and don’t order from this place. I have ordered from Jessie’s 3 times and I haven’t gotten what I ordered yet. This time they delivered a regular pizza instead of deep dish, even though I clarified 3 times that I wanted deep dish. I called back to tell them that I want my deep dish pizza delivered and my extra order of fries that did not come. I got a call back stating that I wasn’t charged for my fries to which I responded«You are not calling me to charge me for fries when you messed up my whole order and I waited 45 minutes for my dinner.» She replied«yes.» I said forget the pizza and I will never order from here again and then she hung up on ME! Great customer service!

The place smelled stale, right when we walked in, which should have warned us to turn around & leave. Considering that we went during lunchtime on a Saturday, the place was empty, which we should have taken for another warning. But the fool that I am, we stayed. It took about 10 minutes to get the kids menu after requesting them upon entering the premises. The service was incredibly slow. It took about 40 minutes to get our meal(2 kids mac n cheeses), fish tacos & fried chicken. Not once did the waitress let us know why our food was taking so long to make/come out. Food was average at best and came out lukewarm. I can’t see this place staying in business much longer. Won’t be going back, unless something drastically changes.

The actual rating is Zero! Absolutely horrible customer service. I ordered from the Seamless app, which is similar to grub hub, and was very excited for the menu options offered. After placing my order, 40 minutes later I receive a phone call informing me that an item I ordered isn’t available, even though it was listed on the menu. So I ask, «what are my options?» Apparently that was a very complex question. The young lady on the phone couldn’t answer so she asks someone else nearby, while covering the phone. Whomever she asked began, ever so rudely and loudly, stating she didn’t know. «Tell her to look at the menu! I don’t know! Look at the menu and figure it out!» What the rude idiot fails to realize is, I looked at the menu, placed an order, paid for it, ANDYOUDIDN’T HAVEITAVAILABLE! Not to mention I am talking to you on the phone I placed the order on. After hearing the tirade from said idiot, I asked for my money back. I was told I could have a «store credit.» Really??? I don’t want to order or eat from here, why would I want a «store credit?» Then I’m told I paid grub hub for the food so I would have to get my money from grub hub. WHAT??? Here is a wild idea: if you are calling a customer to tell them you don’t have a menu item that is already paid for, come prepared with an alternate offering! It’s good business to satisfy customers, instead of yelling at them, especially if you want them to come back. Also, if it is your norm to yell, and become agitated over such simple things, invest in a phone with a mute button. Order placed at 8:26pm and currently 10:09pm and no food! RIDICULOUS! Bottom line: skip this joint! Plenty of burger and pizza places in the area with great people skills, and better food.

I wish I can give no star!!! This place is HORRIBLE!!! The service sucks. I would NEVEREVEREVER come back here. Even if they paid me!!! Everything i was allergic to and told them multiple times not to put on the sandwich they still did and when the food came out and I told them they made a mistake. They told me the kitchen is closed and too late to get anything else. And they didn’t even try to accommodate me with anything. DONTTRUSTTHEQUALITYOFTHEFOODHERE!!!

I really wanted to like this place, since I’m all about supporting local businesses, but the food was just SO salty, I couldn’t even finish it. We ordered via Seamless on a Saturday night. Delivery time was decent. The Country Fried Chicken was really salty. My husband had to drink so much water to offset the taste. He even tried taking the skin off, but that didn’t help. We’ve had much better from KFC or Popeye’s. Even the mashed potatoes were over-seasoned. I ordered the BBQ pork with a side of Mac & Cheese(the triangle in the picture) and black beans. HOWDOYOUMESSUPBLACKBEANS? #SALTBOMB. You don’t even really need to season black beans, but they did, and it was almost inedible w/all the salt. As for the mac and cheese… It was a congealed, cold triangle, that was obviously not fresh. It was probably made a week ago, and pre-frozen and thrown in the microwave. It was the grosses Mac and Cheese I ever had. Kraft in a box is better. I actually spit it out because the texture was like baby food. It didn’t taste like cheese. Plus, it kind of had a weird smell, which made me think it was probably spoiled. I wasn’t going to chance it. The corn– is also canned. It wasn’t even yellow. It was a sad brownish color. The pork was not horrible, but they use a SWEET bbq sauce… not really my taste. I felt the dinner was really disappointing, especially since it was our first time ordering from there. It was cafeteria grade at best. If they ever decide to serve fresh food– not frozen or canned, and not over-season and over-salt. I may consider trying this again… but I’m definitely not going to recommend the place to anyone. Maybe in a few years IF they fix these problems and take this as constructive criticism.

When it was Angelina’s it was really great, especially the Napoleon’s Dynamite. Now it’s Jessie’s and frankly the food is not really amazing. Last order was The Kitchen Sink(which was a bit overcooked), the Happy Day’s Burger(decent) and the Chicken Quesadillas were the best. I don’t really order from there anymore because I feel there are better options in my neighborhood, but if you need some comfort food, it’s an OK place to go.

TERRIBLE! I was extremely disappointed with the food. This was my first time having food from this place. I got delivery: boneless wings, chicken empanadas, mini tacos, and a side of fries. Everything was dried out and stale. The tacos didn’t even have real meat in them, definitely chili from a can. Empanadas not made fresh. Boneless wings didn’t even taste like wings just dried out chicken. GROSS! There must be no actual chef at this place. I would of been better off buying frozen appetizers from the supermarket. Huge waste of money. I don’t know how this place is still in business.

I was very disappointed with the food and the atmosphere it looks like a restaurant in the front but a bar in the back. The food that was served to us was bar food and really bad barfood. I ordered the fish and chips, that came over Lee cooked. I didn’t want to send it back since it was my first time and I was not sure how the chef would’ve handled that. I think the chef also needs to go back to school and get reeducated on how to make a good fish and chips. He also needs to learn went to change the oil after you fried several times, because it does affect the taste of the food. Saying all of this means that I will never go back. It was a waste of $ 50, that was the cost of our meal including gratuity for three people.

Updating my previous review because my husband«john» was called about a week after my first posting and did receive a full credit for our disgusting first meal from this place. We used it, again via delivery, one night after getting home late from work and not wanting to spend money. The food the second time around was semi decent but nothing memorable and not anything I’d order again. I am happy to see that the management responds to customer complaints and is trying to update their rating by pleasing customers. This is the only reason I have this place another star, however at the end of the day you should step up your quality of chefs because the food isn’t anything to rave about.

I ordered delivery and the guy didn’t even have change, Didn’t offer to come back and give it to me Ripped me off $ 10 extra. I thought the food better be worth due to that incident but it was gross, Perhaps eating there is a better experience but I do not recommend delivery at all.

Really good spot, in a random area. Appeared to be a pizza/bodega spot From the outside. Inside was much bigger, with plenty seats, and a smiling waitress Patty. Came here on a Friday afternoon at 53O after purchasing a group on 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 select alcoholic drinks, my friend and I were the only two there-which was fine. Décor: a little modernized pizza shop that is attempting to appear like a cool, chill sit down spot. Looks like a neighborhood joint. food: Apps-beef empanadas WEREOUTSTANDING. Better than some Mexican & Spanish placed I’ve been to in the city. Also got honey bbq wings which were rear good – who can mess up wings anyway right? Portions very generous & wing sauces to choose from were endless. Entrees: Got the Rum Burger – my only beef with it – you see what I did there – was that it came with Canadian bacon. Canada should never contribute to my burger especially if it ain’t real bacon! I appreciated that the sauce was on the side instead of on my burger and I REALLY tasted the rum in the sauce. My friend ordered one of the Spanish dishes that looked like shredded pork & rice. He was so full he took it to go. Drinks: Beer choices with our deal were only Miller & some lager. Nothing exciting. Appreciated the fact they had a full bar though. Value: my group on was worth $ 25 and I was only charged a $ 2 tax. The portions, the outstanding service from Patty, and the food quality made this a great deal. If I’m in the area I’ll come back.

Friendly and attentive staff, but mediocre food. For appetizers, we got the chicken wings(garlic chili sauce), kitchen sink(chili cheese fries), pork empanadas, and the house salad. Generous portions, but taste was very plain. For the entrée I got the flatiron steak which was pretty bland as well. However, I’m giving 3 stars for the excellent service. But… idk if I’ll ever return here. maybe a few years later.

I purchased the groupon from here thinking that it was a pretty good deal, two appetizers two entrees and two drinks for $ 25. Well, you get what you pay for. Upon arrival my boyfriend and I were the only two people in there(besides the workers). We ordered two miller lites to start, and as the appetizers we chose the empanadas and the baked mac and cheese. The empanadas are frozen all they do it heat them up, so they’re the same as any frozen kind you would get in the food store. The mac and cheese was okay, it didn’t taste baked it was gooey enough as thought it was just made, and there were no bread crumbs. For the entrees my boyfriend got the«hot pocket» burger, which had the cheese inside. Instead there was barely any cheese inside of it. He said it also just tasted cry, as though you could tell it was cooked stovetop with no juices in it. The French fries it came with were pretty good though. I got the grilled BBQ chicken sandwich. The sandwich was okay, I had to take off a few pieces of the chicken because there was just too much on there, and it had too much barbecue sauce. We both took leftovers home, about half of each meal, which ended up going in the garbage two days later. I think the place could do better if they tried, but I wouldn’t go back anytime soon.

the décor is pretty modern and chic and there’s a bar in the back although I think they are only serving beer and wine at this time. We had a groupon deal which really allowed us to try a ton of food for a small price. The portions for the entrees are HUGE. I had to doggy bag it. I tried the Pilgrim which was really good, a bit salty but the concept of turkey over waffles was too good to pass up. The service was excellent, we were even sitting for a bit to digest and watch the Knicks game. Bonus points for having several tvs in here! There’s also a takeout window in the front. I will definitely be back in here to try the empanadas and the ‘deep dish pizza’.

Bought a $ 25 groupon for here for a discounted $ 15. It came with two apps, two entrees and two glasses of wine(or beer). We got the Mac and cheese and the desert rose(blooming onion) for app, and both were delicious. The desert rose was a bit salty but they usually are. Our entrees were the turkey with mashed potatoes and a waffle made out of stuffing(so good!) and the carne asada with arepas, rice, and a fried egg. The carne asada was marinated in a red wine which gave it a nice taste through out. The rice was plain looking but seasoned subtlety nice. The arepas were a bit overkill! I couldn’t finish them though they were very well made. Our waitress was very nice and she was the only one there. Overall I def enjoyed my experience here and will be coming back soon in addition to recommending it to all my foodie friends!

This spot is tiny and has only 2 types of beers on tap. Waitress was super inexperienced and told us we couldn’t order the empanadas sampler as an appetizer(when it was clearly on the app size), and our meals were mediocre, if that. Stop by if you live in the neighborhood but don’t go out of your way to come here. Ribs-covered in sauce. Mac-n-cheese-tasted like the back of a fridge. Hotdog-dry. Pizza(deep dish with chosen toppings of pepperoni, peppers and onions) was good but very similar to pizza hut.

Perhaps I’m just a sucker for small mom-n-pop restaurants, but I really dug Jessie’s FIreshack. I felt its quaint décor that meshed pizzeria with neighborhood bar/lounge worked relatively well. It felt like it was trying to be different things, but not in an offensive way. The place was empty on a Sunday afternoon, so we made our way in and received the immediate attention of the hostess. After perusing its surprisingly deep menu, perhaps too deep as their plethora of choices had me a bit overwhelmed, we decided on the fish & chips, and the ribs. Menu items did not cost more than $ 12 with the exception of the XL pizza pies, with many items in the $ 8 range. The food was a bit slow to come out, but at the price point, it was very good. delicious even. Contrary to a prior reviewer, the ribs I received were tender, fall-off-the-bone soft, and succulent. I had onion rings and sweet plantains as sides. Wasn’t wild about the plantains, but then again my mom makes some bomb-ass plantains, so it’s hard to follow that act. The fish-n-chips was good as well, although I’d consider it less fish-n-chips, more fried tilapia, regardless of the fact that it’s served over fries. We also ordered a Chicago deep dish pie to go for the hungry man at home, and he positively raved about it. After hearing his praises, I gave it a try. It was good, perhaps sinfully so.(We had the Carnivore, which was a salumeria surrounded in dough.) For all this food, our check post-tip came out to $ 40. We could have potentially fed 4 with the amount of food ordered. They also have a small but carefully selected beer selection. About 12 – 15 beers available, with half of them being local craft breweries. I am always a fan of restaurants favoring craft brews over the run-of-the-mill national brands. Local support, better taste. I am hoping this spot stays open for a while, as it’s a nice alternative to the Applebee’s just a few blocks east, but has food prepared with more care at a fraction of the cost. UPDATE: Lowered to a 3. Got my ribs, and they were nice on the outside, cold on the inside. I’m sure I could have gotten this fixed, but it should already have been«fixed» prior to serving!

We tried Jessie’s because of the $ 15 for $ 30 amazon deal. The décor choices may be a little off… neon orange table cloths & matching painted dropped ceilings make it feel like Halloween but the furniture, art and layout are a strange combo of Asian lounge, Indian buffet, coffeehouse and pizzeria. This did not put us off though. The eclectic look of the place sort of matches the menu, which has some Latin influence as well as BBQ food, deli sandwiches, «gourmet» hot dogs and pizza. We walked in at 8:30 on a Wednesday night and were the only customers in the restaurant. Our waitress was a sweet young lady who seemed to be still learning the ropes. She was friendly, attentive and enthusiastic though, even after we showed her the amazon voucher. The complimentary garlic knots with marinara dipping sauce were a nice touch to start our meal. Unfortunately, the calamari appetizer($ 9.95) was not as good. The batter looked and tasted like store-bought frozen onion rings, unlike the light crispy calamari I am used to getting at Italian restaurants. There was also a distinct fishy taste and chewy, rubbery texture, which lead me to believe that the calamari was not fresh. So, judging by everything I’ve said so far, you’d expect me to give this place 3 stars or less, right? Wrong! Just as the calamari dashed my hopes of good«comfort food,» the empanadas and mac & cheese restored my faith. We tried one of each kind of empanada: beef(very tasty). pork(stuffed with sausage, not shredded pork, but still very good), and chicken(perfectly spiced and filled with real chunks of shredded chicken)…this sampler was not on the menu. Empanada prices ranged from $ 4.95(for 3 beef) to $ 7.95(for 3 chicken). Since we asked to try one of each, they charged us as if it were all chicken $ 7.95 which was fine since they were really good. The baked mac & cheese appetizer($ 5.95) was excellent – a generous portion of gooey, cheese-soaked macaroni, baked golden brown and slightly crisp on top. Bf and I both ordered individual deep dish pizzas, which took about 40 minutes to cook. We were ok with the wait as it gave us some time to come up for air! Bf enjoyed the Rattlesnake pizza($ 10.25) and my plain tomato and mozzarella deep dish($ 8.25) was also very satisfying. We both took half of our pizzas home. Drink prices were very reasonable which was a bonus(bf always orders multiple sodas) at $ 2 for a large soda and $ 1.75 for a large coffee. Overall, we were very pleased with Jessie’s, so much so that I bought another amazon deal so we can go back and try more of their menu(next time, we’re going for the BBQ ribs and«Haute» Dogs). Hopefully, that calamari doesn’t come back to haunt me tomorrow! Lol. Either way, Jesse’s is a local joint that’s worth checking out.
