Jim Hilepo Md

I am giving this practice a 5 star review only because the doctor is the most wonderful doctor around. I have been going to see Dr. Jim Hilepo for about a decade and he is as good as it gets. He is caring and compassionate, intelligent and a wonderful diagnostician.
I am afraid that is where my kudos end because his office staff is the worst I have ever seen anywhere. I have called numerous times to speak to the manager to complain but nothing ever improves. As medical practices become more customer service driven, it is important that the office staff adapts. I expect to be treated courteously. I have never, ever been treated courteously by the office staff at this practice. Something really needs to be done.

He is not a bad doctor when he is actually in the office. The handful of times I have called to be seen I was told he is out that week. He also never calls with test results you have to leave messages until the nurse calls back. The staff are very unfriendly and unhelpful. I am looking for a new doctor.

Dr. Hilepo was a nice enough physician during the visit but don’t expect any follow up care. It had been THREE weeks since I visited his office and no callback about my labwork. And this wasn’t for a regular check up. I had a kidney panel done, thyroid, etc. (Total 8+ vials of blood drawn.) I have called every week and everytime just get the same ‘someone will call you’ runaround. I still feel like crap and have no answers. You have been warned.

I really like this doctor and his easy-​going attitude. The two times I have been here for a physical have been quick and painless. I think people need more than that in a general practitioner.
My only complaint is when I went to get a thyroid scan I had to call him numerous times to get his feedback on the scan. The process literally took a month just to track him down. His staff is decent at trying to track him down but be prepared to wait on the line for 5 to 10 minutes.
The whole practice seems to lack compassion and familiarity with the patient. Overall I probably won’t stay with this doctor but I’ve been to worse.
